think of your character. decide the rules from there. what would your character do? a basic example is if you're a total wizard then you wouldn't use any weapons or use any lockpicks. of course you'd probably want a mod that lets you use magic in some way to unlock things, but you get the idea. If you're roleplaying a total barbarian, you might think that scrolls and potions are for faggots, so you just swing your weapon and shout things to death. these are just examples for basic archetypes, but you can get more complex from there. just always ask yourself what would your character do?

that's the problem with Skyrim. out of all the games it's the one that promotes the jack of all trades playstyle the most, hence it makes it inherently harder to roleplay. I mean, there's only one way to open locks for christ's sake.

It's easier if you figure out your character's personality first. That is, after all, the basis of roleplaying.

Once you do that, it's pretty straight-forward. Do things they would do. Don't do things they wouldn't do. This means you'll probably end up doing things that are sub-optimal. That's what makes it fun.

For example, Mistel's a thief and a treasure hunter. She considers herself to be the whole noble thief, Robin Hood kind of person. In reality, she sometimes lets her greed get the better of her and does something immoral for treasure, even if it has negative consequences down the line.

She also refuses to drink Thalmor blood, and only drinks Altmer blood in general if absolutely necessary. It makes playing a vampire more interesting.

Also pick a play style and stick to it. Don't level smithing if your character wouldn't know how/wouldn't care how to smith. Same for enchanting and alchemy.

A mod like Honed Metal helps with this, since you can ask NPCs to enchant, recharge, craft, or improve gear for you.

The nose looks deformed. Nostrils are way too high relative to the septum. Upper lip is far too thin.

Other than that, the proportions are just all wrong. Go look up an artist's reference for children's facial proportions.

I usually recommend looking up art resources. Things like references for facial proportions. They really, genuinely help. At least for me.

If you can get a face that looks proportioned properly, you can tweak it from there to your preference and it'll still look okay.

Consider that making a character is basically making a 3D model. It's an art skill.
