the "full combo" of RMB hook LMB melee is overrated and doesn't work practically
there's a delay of .5-.75 seconds between RMB and hook, and it's big enough for them to move away or change momentum and fuck up your hook
just focus on getting the hook landed, you don't need the extra damage on the risk of failing to secure a kill
also remember to practice the RMB in spawn while you wait, it's range is deceptively smaller than you'd think, and remember to reload then cancel with heal!
