I think there's a problem I've been able to pinpoint with typical cases, one that has been elaborated on in fucking guides THAT NO ONE READS
Witnesses can lie for reasons besides being a murderer. This happens SO MANY TIMES in the games but if you lie in this you get bullshit constantly.
Formulacucks have made it so that either witnesses are telling the truth and their contradiction must be able to be explained or lolitwuzme.
Here's an example from this old case I had once

Well, here's my £0.05.

I see newer prosecutors shut down far too much. The witness, judge or the defence has a small tangent to make a joke or act out in character, and the prosecution loses it, instead of playing along. Sure, silly questions can be penalised, but they should still be heard as they are in the games.

On prosecution, you should try to get your guilty verdict, absolutely. But your job isn't to make the defence feel horrible, or to talk over their questioning. What you should be doing, when they're in the spotlight, is objecting to misunderstandings of case fact, or things that are an utter waste of time. The former is more important than the latter, because you're trying to keep the defence (and the case) on track. Watching the defence writhe in misery as they fail to understand the case, and get shut down constantly, isn't very entertaining to watch. Remember: you are not a Blue Emperor Scorpion, you're a prosecutor; a professional; a good guy.

And then there's what a few players have said already; some prosecutors don't work with theories or witness flubs to their advantage. In particular, as prosecution, you should never let opportunities to preemptively claim the defence's sword for your own slip. It makes for excellent RP and showmanship if you're playing any prosecutor, but it's especially impressive if you do it on the crueler ones. However, don't confuse this with theory crafting; the conclusion you reach as prosecution should be an obvious one, one that the defence should be keen to avoid in their explanation.

While we're on the topic of RP, that's another thing that deserves mention. It seems to be quite frequent that people don't bother acting at all, and just talk flatly. It makes for very boring viewing. Prosecuting is half of the role; showmanship is the other, same as the other roles. The best prosecutors are those that do their job, while still being in character and entertaining to watch. We're all here to have fun.

When you're faced with a defence who asks pointless questions, you need to steer them back on track. Pre-written Titanic author here, and yes, that is intended

In my vision, pre-writtens worked in other servers, but in AOV they had some problems:

>no one liked it other than the defense because they had nothing to do
>as it is scripted, it requires people to have specific ideas to spot specific contradictions, which usually happens, thus they get stuck
>all in all usually only has one major plot twist, all else is fillers to make it longer (like improvs)

The solution was to make every role "special", no one is really who you think they are at first glance, they have hidden motives, identities, evidence, etc, thus everyone will have their time to shine at some point. To make it escape from boredom, some will have crazy intentions, such as murdering someone mid-trial (which turned out quite well)

Not only that, but the "scripted case" archetype was abandoned completely. Witnesses wouldn't see a list of what they are supposed to say, but rather a description of who they were, what are their motives and what they saw, along with their evidence if they have any. Based on that, they improvise their testimonies, being allowed to change facts if it is for the greater good as well. The "script" becomes a guideline, not a rule

Either way, I am glad it was a success, I hope pre-writtens will get more attention now

Look at the Kirigiri we have. I didn't make it, but the lipflap is only 2 frames. 1 open 1 shut. DR1 just doesn't really have the proper flaps.

Mikan is also like this but I barely managed to scrape by. Not going to do these kind again after player feedback.
