If Ciri hadn't been born, Emhyr would have never waged the wars against the North, Vilgefortz and Lodge wouldn't have fucked shit up on such a large scale, Geralt wouldn't have dragged a bunch of good friends and people to their deaths and the world would have never known the black plague.

Ciri dies ending is clearly the best, making her finally pay for all that shit.

I played TW2, read the short stories, then played TW3.
I'm finishing the books (I'm at the last one) and just started the first TW1 and is so depressing...

Seeing places, recognizing them and knowing that is already over...

Not going to lie, they put another DLC for 30€ by the end of the year and I'd buy it.
Guess gwent will do...

Answered your own question. Tbf a lot of times when people see that timed decision bar they feel like they don't have time to think about their answer though. It doesn't even really belong there in most of the choices.

>>148469530
You only got one right.

>Have a snowball fight or go drinking with her?
As i recall, i said no to the snowball fight but i defintiely did drink with her

Correct answer was telling her you did know how to make her eel better, since "You don't have to be good at everything" doesn't help here. She does have to be good at this.

>Go with her to talk to the Lodge or not?
>Yes
Understandable decision, but not going gives her a lot of confidence in herself which is good for her morale which is vital for fighting huge glowy white things.

>Gave her the necklace. You could thrash the place?
The correct answer is "Go for it". Geralt precedes to cheer her up by humorously knocking things over and vandalizing his lab. Even Yen joins in by secretly using magic to draw a moustache on his portrait. She ends up laughing instead of angry.

>Visit Skjall's grave or not?
>Yes
I seriously have no idea how anyone could not choose this one. Obviously, correct.

>The 2k advance? yea, had no choice

It hurts. I was disappointed because her letter was actually not terrible.

>tfw last scene of your favorite character shits all over her and turns her into generic waifu

>CDPR surely noticed how popular waifu shit is, so I wouldn't be surprised if Cyberpunk becomes the next waifu simulator.
I want to get off Marcin's wild ride. Sad thing is, I'm not even sure how popular it is. I mean, yeah, waifufags on the forums talk about it nonstop, but how much does it actually influence profits? I just have to hope that B&W is from CDPR's B team and their main games avoid that stuff.
>>
>>148479834
>They are techincally husband and wife, what's wrong with that?
Their dialogue isn't natural. This is not how a husband and wife would speak or act. It's very fanfictiony. Their personalities are warped as if in a fanfiction, with minor things suddenly becoming long standing relationship issues (apparently Pun Wars are now a Geralt and Yen tradition instead of a silly stupid one-off.) Neither of them sound like human beings. It's just CDPR blatantly writing what they think people on the forums want the characters to say. Not to mention the whole situation is ridiculous "Oh I love you so much, but you left for weeks to Toussaint without telling me but I tracked you down teehee!" "That's ok Yen, I won't ask how you did that because I love everything about you. Let's now gloss over this and talk explicitly about our wonderful happily ever after, in those exact words, while practically looking at the camera". It's kind of insulting, even, that this is what the writers think I want.

If you can't see it though, I honestly don't know how to explain it. There interactions in the main game (sans waifu patch) are how to do their relationship right.

Short stories are were Andrzej's talent shines the most. He has written a lot of other short stories, about various things, and they're all absolutely fantastic.

It's not, I saw them talk about having their main writing team working on B&W

>I mean, yeah, waifufags on the forums talk about it nonstop, but how much does it actually influence profits?
Any discussion about the witcher is hindered by waifu shit, on every witcher related forum it's Yen this, Triss that...They noticed it's something that people enjoy and that gets them riled up and involved, so I'm sure they'll increase their focus on it in future titles. Don't forget that they already made one waifu patch because enough people asked for it.

Honestly I dont mind that, and dont see much wrong with it.
Yennefer has nothing else to do other than spending time with Geralt, since they both expressed their feelings theres no need for being stealthy about it anymore.
Geralt is finally settling down in a quiet house, living a peacefull life till the end, so now he has all the time in the world to spend with her.

Only problem I see is that Yen should be more... aggresive I guess, more like Geralt is and not all lovely dovely.

Can we get /v/ in on it? They loved fucking with BSN back in the day.

Consider...what if, the waifufags are simply an extremely vocal minority? What if others just fear to speak up for exactly that scenario? What if they joined us? More importantly, what if CDPR were made to understand that unlike waifufags, we actually have self control and won't buy whatever they sell regardless of what's in it? Cyberpunk 2021 is no longer a day one buy for me. CDPR was the only company I did that with, and they've blown it.

I'm afraid I don't share your optimism. CDPR got the waifu cancer and is on the way of becoming a new Bioware. It happens when you reach huge success, and start caring more about the money. In the Blood of Elves it is only mentioned she seduced him with the help of a little magic, here is the exact quote: “she had seduced the witcher - with the help of a little magic. She had hit on a propitious moment, a moment when he and Yennefer had scratched at each other's eyes yet again and had abruptly parted. Geralt had needed warmth, and had wanted to forget.”

While this is certainly open to interpretation, based on Geralt’s behavior toward Triss I think it is safe to assume he doesn’t feel like he’s been in any way violated by her. First he invited her to Kaer Morhen to help him deal with Ciri, later when she gets sick, he diligently cares for her until she recovers. As he rejects her desperate passes, it is obvious he only sees her as a friend, but one he genuinely cares about.

Another quote from BoE:
'And you, Triss?'
'What about me?' She swallowed with difficulty. 'I'm not important. I let you down. I let you
down ... in everything. I was . . . I was your mistake. Nothing more.'
'Mistakes,' he said with effort, 'are also important to me. I don't cross them out of my life, or memory. And I never blame others for them. You are important to me, Triss, and always will be. You never let me down. Never. Believe me.'

He takes responsibility for what has happened and doesn’t blame Triss or feel like she took advantage of him. If Triss maliciously used magic on him, he would surely look at her differently, but to me it is clear he sees her as a close friend.
>>
>>148492154
Lel, he didn't deny she was a mistake. He just went ahead and agreed with her.
>>
>>148492325
Well, of course, he never saw her as anything more than a friend in the books, that is clear to anyone who has read them. My point is, she didn't rape him, nor does he consider himself raped.
>>
If a dude has amnesia, I don't think he can fully consent to having a relationship with you. That's a really blurry line, like is it rape if you have sex with your husband while he is in a coma?
>>
>>148492736
It is not the same, a comatose guy has no control over his actions, while amnesic Geralt had full control over deciding whether he wants to sleep with Triss or not. He did so willingly even after she told him the truth about Yen and Ciri in the beginning of TW2. Triss never forced him to do anything, she simply seduced him.

Shady as fuck? Yes Rape? No

>My point is, she didn't rape him, nor does he consider himself raped.
In Blood of Elves anyway, we don't know about the games.
>>
>>148494258
Yes, we know. The guy had amnesia, but he wasn't a mindless retard, it was his decision to sleep with Triss in the games.

It's incredibly dishonest from her to withhold information on his previous life, but he was never forced to do anything. He consciously reciprocated to Triss' advances.
>>
>>148494770
>It's incredibly dishonest from her to withhold information on his previous life
That's the issue though, had he known the full truth, would he have slept with her?
>>
Well in TW2, Triss tells him the truth during their trip to Flotsam, which is fairly early in the game and if the player chooses so, Geralt can still have sex with Triss afterwards, even though at that point he is completely aware of the way she abused his amnesia. So I guess it's up to each player to decide, from that moment on, you can also chose to not to engage in any more romance with her.

People underestimate Geralt's role in all of this, yes he has amnesia, but during the first two games he is able to make many complex decisions, some of which affect the fate of entire kingdoms. I think he is perfectly capable of deciding whether he wants to sleep with someone.

He is not a puppet for evil manipulative Triss to control, he plays an active role in their relationship and more often than not is the one who decides to engage Triss romantically.

Triss strongly implied that they had a prior romantic relationship, putting pressure on him by implication. She also quite expertly uses how lost he is in Vizima to insinuate herself as his guide. I'm not denying any of that, Triss is at fault, that's a fact, but I just don't really see it as rape and Geralt can still reject her advances if you choose so. Also, he is not particularity upset once he finds out the truth in TW2. Even if you ignore Triss romantically, he still treats her as a friend.

You can have Geralt be pretty mean to her at Loc Muinne but that's over the Lodge stuff. Really, everyone but Yennefer seems to treat Triss with kids' gloves, even in the books. Like she's not responsible for her own actions. All that "Little Merigold" stuff, makes it seem like most of the mages think of her as a child.

Well, even if she just told him that he has been in a relationship with her friend Yen without going into details, it is enough for Geralt to conclude what Triss did, and it's safe to assume she told him more than that anyway. Geralt is not stupid.

>>148498893
>You can have Geralt be pretty mean to her at Loc Muinne but that's over the Lodge stuff. Really, everyone but Yennefer seems to treat Triss with kids' gloves, even in the books.

Even being a Triss fan I would have liked to see a bit more of confrontation about her mistakes. A discussion with Geralt about amnesia abuse and giving player a chance to decide whether you forgive her or not would be nice, instead Geralt just brushes it off when she mentions it.

About the kid gloves treatment, I kind of agree, it may have something to do with her cheerful personality, she stands out from other mages in that regard. It can lead to her making the impression of being naive and benign, and she is younger than most of them anyway.

True, but it was such a complicated thing...very easy to alter context and implications, emphasize different events, etc. I mean Dandelion (who isn't exactly credible I suppose) focuses on "TOXIC relationship with the sorceress Yennefer". Is that meant to be how Triss relayed the story? I really have no idea.

>Even being a Triss fan I would have liked to see a bit more of confrontation about her mistakes. A discussion with Geralt about amnesia abuse and giving player a chance to decide whether you forgive her or not would be nice, instead Geralt just brushes it off when she mentions it.
I seriously think they planned to write her out originally so they didn't want to get into anything like that. A shame, it could have been interesting.

I doubt that, she was a prominent figure in the first two games, her role was downplayed, but completely writing her out...nah, I don't see CDPR ever considering it. It was also known fairly early in the development process that she will be one of the romance choices and she was used in the early promotional material.

>Is that meant to be how Triss relayed the story?
We can't really know, but it's in each individual player's hand how Geralt proceeds with Triss from that point on, so we can all create our own version, I guess.

>>148500209
>It helps that she actually is pretty naive.
Yeah, that's the thing that makes it easier for me to forgive her the whole Lodge incident. She was misguided by her wrongly place ideals and Philippa, who had no problem controlling her. The thing is, while her actions are often wrong, I never found her motivations to be malicious, she believes she is doing a greater good, she is not evil, just naive.

Define prominent figure? She's absent or has few lines for most of TW2. In the first game she's fairly plot relevant but shares the designated love interest spotlight with Shani.

I can't forgive her because even if her motives were entirely selfless (and I'd argue they aren't), this isn't the first time this has happened. She stopped being a coward at the end of the books, but she doesn't seem to have learned any other lesson. But hey, to each their own.

Honestly, I can't see how anyone can deny Triss being a very prominent character in the first two games, regardless of the romance. In TW2, she was there the whole Flotsam, finding what has happened to her once Letho took her is a crucial part of the story on both Roche/Iorveth path and leads to further revelations about the plot. Also, for me at least, a large part of the third act was revolved around saving her. As a result, she participated in the summit, blamed Lodge for the assassinations and influenced the ending I got, she is there when Geralt leaves Loc Muine, she is a potential romance choice. I mean she clearly has a large role in the first two games.

>>148501353
>I can't forgive her
That's fine, I'm not trying to convert you or anything, your points are valid, I'm just expressing my opinions.
>>
>>148502430
I'd argue Roche and Iorveth have a more prominent role in TW2 than she does by a bunch, I mean, yeah she's there in Act 1, but she is kind of frustratingly low on dialogue. Hell, Dandelion of all people reacts to events there much more, even before the Letho confrontation. But I don't know what bar you're setting for "very prominent". Either way, it's not like they haven't dumped very prominent characters from a previous game before. *coughIorvethcouh*

I saved Triss too by the way, just saying she's more of a supporting character

I consider Triss to be one of the main characters in TW1 and TW2, it's just a fact for me. I never really thought she was low on dialogue in Act 1, she is involved in quite a few missions, but whatever, it's not on me to persuade anyone, you are entitled to you own views. We can just agree to disagree.

Shame about Iorveth, he should have made an appearance. CDPR's excuses to why they didn't include him are very poor. Oh, we couldn't give him justice and fit him in the story the right way, so it's better to leave him out. It reminds me of their excuses for not including Yen before TW2.
>>

They said in a later interview that they didn't include Yen and Ciri in TW1 because the writers they had a the time weren't confident in their ability to write them. Comparing TW1 to the 2 and 3....I'd say they made the right choice.

Considering the game focuses heavily on Geralt's personal story, it's understandable that people are more attached to a character that is potential love interest for Geralt. One other thing to consider is that majority of TW3 players were new to the franchise and had no idea who Iorveth is, so they couldn't really complain about missing him. Long conversation but the best parts are what happens in this scene >>148514661

>>
>>148515341
Accompanying her to the Lodge meeting when she asks Geralt is a bad dad choice though. The rest of it is basically just providing comfort in emotionally stressful situations. Or in the case of not taking money from Emhyr, not being a social retard.

Also, she's kinda different in the books. Some of her more interesting personality traits were downplayed a lot, presumably to make sure new players liked her. Given her importance to the plot, and the reaction of a large portion of the new playerbase to Yennefer, they were probably right to do so.
>>
>>148515356
Really? I've played through that game like five times and never found that quest then. I've never looked at a walk-through for that part though.
>>
>>148515341
my main issue with the choices is that the options don't reflect what you're going to say, at all

>sad ciri can't do spells right
your options are
>"relax, you don't have to be good at everything"
this means you try to get her drunk to destress
>"I think I know a way to cheer you up"
hooray snowball fight

I can immediately agree that a snowball fight is better than binge drinking, but how the fuck am I supposed to tell that's what's going to happen when I pick the first option?
>>
>>148515413
>Triss: Philippa deserved the benefit of the doubt, the Lodge just needs more money for dem programs. She's worshiping Melitelé and turning her life around
>>
>>148515458
Her character arc in the books was entirely different and resulted in an entirely different person. It was all about her representing innocence and getting steadily corrupted by all of the evil that beset her throughout her travels and progressively becomming more and more evil as a result as things progressed.
>>
>>148515478
It's really easy to miss quests in all three games even in multiple playthroughs. Besides just the sheer length of the games and how different permutations of choices can close or open certain options, there's glitches to be considered. Some minor quests simply don't show up sometimes, especially in TW1.

>>148515596
Before she's redeemed by Geralt and Yennefer and begins to recover herself after returning. There's still a lot of book Ciri in game Ciri, I think. But they left more on the cutting room floor for her than they did any other Book-to-Game character, I think.
>>
>>148515508
>but how the fuck am I supposed to tell that's what's going to happen when I pick the first option?
Well, just looking at the lines themselves:

>You don't have to be good at everything.
She DOES have to be good at this. Not helpful. Borderline brushing her off.

>I think I know a way to cheer you up
Self-explanatory.
>>
>>148515684
Yes, Geralt and Yennefer, moreso Geralt, was meant to represent Good, his death was symbolic of the good in her dying. No one knows what happens after that or who she becomes, as that's the end of the story.
>>
>>148515790
But they died protecting her. We can hope that has a lasting impact. If she'd stayed on the course she was without ever meeting them, there's no question she'd go full Falka in a few years. Now, there's hope.

>Geralt and Yennefer represent good
>Both cynical but oddly idealistic individualists primarily interested in themselves and their immediate friends or family

It's like the author had something against collectivist ideologies and nationalism. I'd almost think it was written by someone from the former Soviet Union or something.
>>
>>148515596
she recovers a bit of her innocence when she meets Yennefer and Geralt again.

After she stopped calling herself Falka her murderous "evil" phase was done, for the most part. She found balance.

The fact she spared some of the people chasing her when she fled to the Tower of Swallows is proof of that.
>>
>>148515458

Agreed, but the game takes it too far I think. Where's her bloodlust? The Crones whole line to Geralt about how vicious and bitter Ciri has become falls totally flat as it is.

>>148515974
She tends towards codependence due to childhood issues, but I didn't think she was that bad myself. You can say "She's been on her own that long" but it's not like she graduated from uni and bought an apartment. She's been some variety of refugee for most of her life, oftentimes truly alone. As in, completely by herself.

That said, I'm willing to bet her current popularity among most of the playerbase wouldn't be here if they presented her more true to the books. Book Ciri was quite a bit worse than Yennefer in terms of difficult personality, when not around her adopted parents.
>>
>>148515764
I still feel it's too abstract of a way to determine whether Ciri lives or dies.

I disagree. it was pretty much the only time they had any plan for an offense against the Hunt period. Can't defend all the time. And the Hunt was never going to be more off-balance than it was after Kaer Morhen.

We actually have details on some large subplots cut there, that included what happened to Fake Ciri, and Yennefer actually being involved in the King's Moot politicking (she originally was meant to suspect Ermion of sending the berserkers to take out rivals of the character that became Cerys but began as someone very different)

Basically you can really tell that Velen is the thing they focused on initially in development.
>>
>>148516640
the main issue I see with Ciri post TW3 is that, with the Hunt gone, there will need to be a real asspull villain to actually threaten her at all.

With Vesemir, you can do a much more "low-key" thing, which I appreciate. You can just add an asshole sorcerer or a dick ass enemy witcher and you have a great antagonist.

For Ciri, you need to make something bigger than the Wild Hunt, and it's hard to imagine something more threatening than space hulk elves from another dimension that want the blood in your placenta to kill all the filthy dh'oine and take their planet before it turns into an ice cube.
>>
>>148516785

>>
>>148516676
We don't really know that for sure. I mean, if you mean that literally. I really don't think anyone we've ever seen can take O'Dimm though.

>>148516805
>the main issue I see with Ciri post TW3 is that, with the Hunt gone, there will need to be a real asspull villain to actually threaten her at all.
Her power level is so handwavy I don't think they really have to explain anything at all. She's still just as mortal as before. Just, with a bunch of hours of storing up power and meditating, she can briefly become tough enough to kill a ton of people. Flesh that out more and it could even be an interesting mechanic. She also has hanging plot threads from both the books and games, so ready made potential antagonists are there in Philippa, Avallac'h, even Falka, in a way.

Besides, that "prep for a few hours to become hugely OP" thing can just as easily be said of all the major mages, and look how weak they are in the game.

>With Vesemir, you can do a much more "low-key" thing, which I appreciate. You can just add an asshole sorcerer or a dick ass enemy witcher and you have a great antagonist.
Problem I have is, it's going to be hard to do this and not hit all the same notes the Geralt's story did with Witchers being misunderstood and hated despite helping people and etc. Plus Vesemir and Geralt's personality are even kind of similar, You can definitely see his influence on Geralt. Ciri has enough Yennefer and Calanthe in her to be different as a protagonist.

>
For Ciri, you need to make something bigger than the Wild Hunt, and it's hard to imagine something more threatening than space hulk elves from another dimension that want the blood in your placenta to kill all the filthy dh'oine and take their planet before it turns into an ice cube.
To be honest I think several other things in TW3 alone seemed more threatening than them, initially. They've got a ton of magic and good knowledge of trans-universal physics or whatever, but ultimately they're just elves.

Biggest benefit to a Ciri game is not being mentined here:

NO WAIFUFAGGOTRY

The kind of guys that waifufag won't do it in a Ciri game because they can't self insert into a grill, and women that husbandofag are too small of a market to influence CDPR's policies much. Vesemir or create a character will give CDPR more temptation to succumb to waifu faggotry.

>but Ciri is waifu/daughteru
She wouldn't be as the player character. Totally different dynamic when you're not playing as her dad.
>>
Meeting Iorveth in Novigrad and hearing his thoughts of being a former leader of a dying resistance movement would have been god tier even if you didn't side with that cheeky fucker.

Hell, he could have gone to Kaer Morhen and run into Roche there... so much potential wasted. I desperately want a director's cut.
>>
>>148516640
A Vesemir Witcher game could be a nice side-quest experience, and they'd have an excuse to do different things, like active witcher schools and different possibilities for the politics, having driven themselves into a corner in the main timeline. Also, Vesemir is an actual witcher and gameplay would kind of demand such a thing. As for Ciri, I just don't like her enough to put up with her for a whole game and I certainly couldn't tolerate her shit voice actress.
>>
>>148517403
I wanted to see how he'd react to Geralt leaving him on his own and not saving Saskia. Also supposedly, according to Polish folks anyway, a lot of the stuff Triss is involved in in Novigrad was originally Roche and Iorveth, working with Dijkstra to fuck with Nilfgaard. That's why there's a Scoia'tael camp south of the city.

>Hell, he could have gone to Kaer Morhen and run into Roche there... so much potential wasted. I desperately want a director's cut.

How would that make the story different? We already run into other witchers and experience them in unlikely political events.

>having driven themselves into a corner in the main timeline.
Seems wide open to me. They have tons of outcomes they can choose for themselves, the world is hitting an entirely new political equilibrium, and Ciri is well suited to a bit of a timeskip anyway. She's familiar enough to keep things grounded but different enough to still explore a new cast.

>Also, Vesemir is an actual witcher and gameplay would kind of demand such a thing.
Replace potions and magic with elder blood powers and...magic. This is pretty easy, really. I never understood this complaint.

You could have just opened with that, you know.

Also, a Ciri game demands that you got the Witcher ending, which means that CDPR would have to invalidate the endings where she dies or becomes empress. That would be bad writing.

Nah, bad writing is the waifu patch, or Dijkstra going full retard at the last minute. Choosing a canon ending is inevitable and is basically what they've done with every entry in the series so far. At least it will be less egregious when it's for an entirely new series instead of a direct sequel.

>>148517787
And in TW1 for Shanifags. Triss ends up Foltest's advisor and Geralt's girlfriend no matter what. Because it's just better for the story they wanted to tell in the next game.

>But that's fucking retarded, they've both known him for years and know him to be above that.
There was presumably a lot of justification for this, and they have recently clashed. I'm not going to say they couldn't pull it off.

Novigrad for me. I mean I still enjoyed it but it went on too long and I cared about it less than the main plot in the other areas. I think they probably still hated each other which would have been even more fun to watch. Especially with Dijkstra in the middle.

Does anyone else get the feeling that HoS was supposed to be in the main game from the start?

Oxenfurt and the Redanian lands are very empty in Vanilla W3, Gaunter appears in White Orchard anyway and the short Shani romance had way too much effort put into it to be nothing more than a one night stand. I suspect HoS would have been a part of the main story with shani as a legit third romance.
>>
>>148517973
I don't believe that. His smile's warm as spring. Towards him it draws you, desu

>>148518023
Nah see it give them an excuse to do something similar but different. You really don't think the magic system as described in the books couldn't bring in a cool twist on what Witcher combat has been so far? Drawing on different elements for different passive stat boosts then expending them for various spell effects, all influenced by talents, inventory, and the element you're currently drawing?

>You clearly never tried.
Or maybe you just lack imagination.
>>
>>148517956
Yes it's fucking dumb, but it's also his name in the books, he's even mentioned in the first game.
>>

Figures.
>>
>>148518082
>They made it very clear with the waifupatch and post-credits Corvo Bianco scenes who they want to appease and have as primary audience
But why? Why would they do that? Is it just the PR? The Waifu patch silenced the whining from Trissfags and made them look like huge bros? I refuse to believe these NEETs are a huge part of their audience. They're probably mostly pirating the game anyway.

>>148518170
>Does anyone else get the feeling that HoS was supposed to be in the main game from the start?
It was and has been confirmed by at least one dev. It also originally involved Iorveth and the Catriona Plague somehow. (you can still hear the occasional bit of ambient dialogue about plague)
>>
>>148518220
There was way too much stuff in the Novigrad part anyway. Would have made more sense to split this part of the story in two, have a search for Ciri in Novigrad and the other part in Redania. As it is right now, the Novigrad part is throwing way too many characters in our faces.
>>
>>148518170
Missed this bit:

>and the short Shani romance had way too much effort put into it to be nothing more than a one night stand. I suspect HoS would have been a part of the main story with shani as a legit third romance.

I think all that effort was put in specifically because it was a one night stand with a somewhat popular returning character. Given how cheap they initially were with Triss content, I really doubt they intended to move any more in the dating game direction at that point.

>>148518220
Blame waifufags. It derailed everything post release.

>Fringilla's letter still mentions pressing business in Beauclair
>Blood and Wine is clearly totaly disconnected from the game timeline
>But instead we get muh Regis

Ok not just waifufags. They're pandering to everyone now.
>>
>>148518390
Triss's story should have ended in Novigrad when she departs having begun to make amends for her earlier mistakes, having grown somewhat as a person. Iorveth should have been in the game. Yennefer should have been around longer, especially in Skellige. Level progression between Velen-Novigrad-Skellige instead of totally open world like Morrowind was a mistake. Act 3 is too rushed, we needed more Radovid and political content to justify events. Empress ending makes no sense. Dad-Choice are too few and arbitrarily chosen.

I think that covers all my complaints with the base game. Anyone got more?
>>

There you have the reason. They were praised on the official forums for the waifupatch so they sought to repeat that "success" with the post-credits scene and made them to appease the lowest common denominator because their feedback on the official forums and mainstream websites convinced them that more content like the waifupatch is what their playerbase wants
>>
>>148518553

How did CDPR fuck up the colours of the Redanian Halberdier armour? It looks 10/10 but the colours are wrong the red is not red enough (tbqh that's not bad) and the sleeves are green worst part is there are no mods to make it black which is painful, the only time someone changed the colours was making it fit other nations (pic related).

Hey guys, just playing Witcher 2 for the first time. What's the max level for intimidate, persuasion and the jedi mind trick? Right now the latter 2 are at level 3 and indimidate is level 2, I'm wondering if I should start doing intimidate more to cover my bases or just keep doing the other 2 to get them higher.

Yeah.
She was in the ME franchise too.
Although she is a bit old and I don't know if that's the voice I'd choose for Ciri, she did a good job. Most of the VA did.
>>
>>148524520
She actually said in an interview that if she'd gotten to see video of Ciri in action before recording, she'd probably have gone a different way with it. The voice cast in The Witcher is almost universally great, and none of them are worse than mediocre. CDPR still has that down.
>>

I do too but I think The Witcher's is better. Bioware's feels more cartoony, which I guess is waht they're going for. The Witcher's (sans waifupatch shit) sounds more down to earth and natural.

Help me anons. As someone who hasn't read the books I am totally confused how the timeline between the books and games plays out. From what i gathered from the cutscenes in W2, it seems to happen like this;

>Geralt and Yen die in a peasant riot, books end here
>Ciri revives Geralt and Yen, then disappears
>Yen somehow gets captzred by the wild hunt
>Geralt tracks the wild hunt down, runs into Letho, Serrit and Auckes along the way
>Together they fight the Hunt, Geralt trades his soul for Yennefer's, he temporarily joins the Wild Hunt
>Letho and co. bring Yen to Nilfgaard
>Geralt rudes with the Wild Hunt until Ciri saves him (not sure about this)
>Geralt finds himself in Kaer Morhen with amnesia, prologue of W1 follows

Is this right, is something missing? Hiw did he even get the amnesia?
>>
>>148525396
That's pretty much it
>>
>>148525396
More or less.
Ciri leaves Geralt and Yen in an idyllic place, that's where the Wild Hunt finds them and kidnaps Yennefer.

Don't complicate things, that's enough. And books are not necessary for that, this is all ''game lore''.
> Hiw did he even get the amnesia?
Space elves magic, Staying with the Wild Hunt makes that to your head. Even just seeing them is enough for some to lose some recent memories.
>>148525239
>I do too but I think The Witcher's is better.
Yes, yes I agree.
I was pointing out that, even if we don't like what Bioware does now, they are still Bioware and they know what they are doing. They choose the VA well.
>>
>>148525396
>Is this right, is something missing?
You pretty much got it right.

>Hiw did he even get the amnesia?
Occasional side effect of riding with the Hunt too long.

Alright thanks. And how long is the time period the games are set in?

I remember that there is one month between W1 and W2 and six months between W2 and W3. Yet Thaler and Shani say they haven't seen Geralt in years when you meet them again in W3. That means that Witcher 2 must have consumed a huge amount of time.
>>
>>148526510
Kind of hard to say, they messed up on dates at one point. Supposed to start 5 years after the books ending, which was around about 1265 so around 1270 for the first game, and the first and second take place over the span of about 1 year I'd say. Witcher one taking place in spring/early summer, and witcher 2 taking place late summer/autumn, then the time span between witcher 2 and 3 taking place over the winter, and starting in the spring.

Should be about right.

I remember there was some contradiction somewhere but I don't remember what it was off the top of my head.
>>
>>148526510
>Alright thanks. And how long is the time period the games are set in?
It's vague but maybe a year and a half or so? TW2 is the shortest in terms of time consumed. Minus the 6 month gap, it only takes place over a couple weeks probably.
>>
>>148526510
Not sure about this, but I think there is like 3 years? between the first and last game. And also, time passes during the third game so...
>>
I for one give kudos to CDPR for emulating the feel of the books so closely that the game even has a weird, fucked up timeline.

>>148527529
Agreed. I get the idea that CDPR had while making B&W, you can choose yourself who the villain is etc., yet it makes bith Detlaff and Syanna fall extremely short, the happy ending feels wrong and the final talk with your lover is pure fan service and also too short. Would have preferred one fleshed out villain, not an emo vampire and an edgy princess. Still a 9/10 expansion, but the story is definitely weaker than expected. Started off so strong, too

Yeah, I think the vineyard really enriched Triss' ending. The way I see it that now they can leave Kovir for a few months a year and just enjoy some warm weather. Sometimes Triss can stay in Kovir and Geralt can travel alone to Toussaint, doing witcher contracts along the way, keeping himself in shape. I like it much more than just rotting in Toussaint and playing Gwent with BB.

If you like a character enough you have to go with the bad end sometimes in order to stay faithful to said character. I love Triss, but her and Geralt settling down and being happy is so out of canon for either of them its absurd. Triss needs to dump Geralt in order to be a better person and find somebody who loves her without having to mislead them.

Maybe the happy ending you think of is different from my happy ending. I think she's better off growing as a person than staying in a relationship based around manipulation and selfishness.
>>

Well, that is your interpretation and you are perfectly entitled to it. If you don't think Geralt and Triss are for each other nobody is forcing you to chose that.

Personally, I love them together and think they make an amazing couple, Geralt seems genuinely happy with her and I love their ending. We can all choose our preferred fate for Geralt, that's the beauty of the games.

Taste in women is a highly subjective thing, no need to be hostile about it.

reminder that breaking up with yennefer, choosing triss, bringing ciri to emhyr, taking money for her, killing roche and ves etc are as valid as the rest of the choices. CDPR made them canon by including them in the game.
>>
>>148545767
I know you don't like Triss, but that is no reason to wish people dying over it. Needless aggression is never productive.

Because that is clearly a reason to wish someones death. But that is your prerogative, do whatever you want, it doesn't affect me either way, I just find it a bit distasteful and immature.
>>
>>148545497
Dettlaff dead and both sisters dead is much better

>>
>>148545907
They never made anything canon, canon doesn't exist in TW3. It is what you make of it, don't be afraid to use your own mind in making decisions, that's kind of the point of the game. And yes, all those choices are perfectly valid.

Technically, Letho did the killing. Emhyr's hands are clean. Besides, you have to admire Emhyr's cunning in the second game.

That reminds me, does Roche know Emhyr ordered Foltest's death? He's still pretty pissed at Letho at Kaer Morhen, but bends the knee to Emhyr without a word.
