So how in the fuck does the Scholar update/dlc work for ps3 ds2? If I purchase all the dlc do I get the forlorn and new enemy placements? If I purchase the SotFS version from store do I get the above mentioned stuff? Do I have to switch to ps4/pc to get them? On ps3 do I get everything else though?

PS3 does not get the scholar re-release.
If you buy the DLC for PS3, you just get the DLC
Note that you do get the agape ring and Aldia stuff on the PS3 version, even without buying the DLC.

Scholar is PS4/XB1 and PC exclusive, it includes all of the dlcs packaged with it, changed enemy placements, increased phantom limit and a minor graphical upgrade.

Damage is very low and it has trouble against certain enemies due to the terrible stamina costs.

However, you can dodge tonnes of enemy attacks using the L1, since it swerves and lowers your hitbox. You can low-profile under most horizontal slashes and lunge past vertical or diagonal stuff. It completely dumps on Champion Gundyr and the Twin Princes as a result.

Getting B544 aka max level in BB is actually astonishingly easy compared to DaS1, or DES by his own account.

Why do people go on about DaS2s NG+? It sprinkled some new stuff around and swapped some things, but that's it. Not enough to convince someone ot play NG+ if they weren't already.
Plus powerstancing is only slightly better than what we have at the moment. The preferred method should be mixing movesets of two different weapons, rather than creating new ones.

Some guy I fought at Pontiff fucking destroyed my asshole open. He was doing some weird ass fucking tech shit and backstepped behind me immediately after he phantomranged me into the L1 combo and backstabbed me

I tried parrying it four times, and almost always get it when scrubs use it, but he kept deadangling and I ended up with partials each time and then got caught in the combo again.

I'm pretty sure the farron greatsword is the highest skillcap weapon in the game and that guy was the best player i've ever fought using it

May as well just say that you want to remove NG+ if additional enemies, new enemy placements (including in boss fights to make them harder), exclusive items and fashion armors, etc. isn't enough to convince you.

There would be no fucking negative to adding these thing to DS3 other than boosting the shit out of the replay value. No death/no bonfire rewards would be great too.

I disagree. Or at least, it depends on the area. Road of Sacrifices could've done with one less bonfire like the one in Crucifixion Woods is pointless and the bonfire before the Cleansing Chapel is too, but I believe that otherwise Cathedral of the Deep got the amount of bonfires right, as did Grand Archives, ArchDragon Peak and Irithyll.

Catacombs didn't imo need a bonfire before Wolnir and Irithyll dungeon was pretty good without one too.

60 FAI is approximately 10-20% more effective than 50 faith, and 50% more effective than 40 Fai, depending on individual miracles and catalysts.

25 END and 35 VIG is plenty for a Faifag. Consider SL125 as well.

The phrase you're looking for is "Lag Compensation".

Light weapons in general could use a global nerf. No "one handed" weapon should ever have more than ~415 AR at 40/40. But straights seriously need to eat more stamina and have lower R1 efficiency.

Ganking could easily be fixed by limiting Estus and phantom summoning for the host.

Too much renewable estus is the problem. Once again solvable by targeting the amount of healing, not its efficiency.

Being able to hit Farron Swamp straight from Undead Settlement can fix this. As well as connecting the Cathedral to Smouldering Lake. Neither of these things are hard to do, especially if the DLC serves as the connections for these areas.

Melee has dominated every single Souls game since Demon's Souls. It's a well known fact that magic in RPGs is often the least popular method of combat, even when Magic is generally considered more effective. This can also be solved by superior magic equipment or spells in the DLC.

How come even though the game is nice and I liked it for the 3 runs I did, I still have no desire to replay it at all? Like the mere thought of havving to slog through Undead Settlement, Farron Keep, Carthus Catacombs, Irythill and all these areas is so offputting. Not only that, but I also feel like no area or boss in the game is interesting enough that I'd look forward to it. Atleast in DaS2 you had shit like Drangleic Castle, Heide, the Crypt with the King's Memory and the great dialogue with Vendrick. I'd fight Looking Glass Knight, Velstadt, Vendrick and Nashandra over Sulyvahn, NLK and SoC any day. I also like how DaS2 introduced some new and interesting lore and characters with Aldia and Vendrick, whereas DaS3 does nothing in that regard. It's just the same "collect these 4 souls that are definitely not lord souls and fight the final boss". And while the Soul of Cinder is a cool bossfight, it's just so random and has no buildup whatsoever leading up to it. Why do you have to fight him? Does every single person who linked the fire have to fight him?

I'm really hoping the DLC will be great. Hopefully we'll get some closure and no more of this vague, ominous shit.

I just got the Lordvessal, I have(or had) a falchion and just made it into Queelag's Furysword. Holy shit what an awesome weapon. I did accidentally find my way down to Gwyndolin and got the sunlight weapon upgrade so should I make a +15 falchion or a +15 Iaito? Or should I use my 30 Faith and just go with a divine weapon once I get more white titanite chunks and a slab?

It healed a laughable amount of HP compared to the damage output of any 27.2% gemmed weapon on top of being parryable. A post-transform r1-r1 of LHB could easily eat more than 1200 HP, even with constant healing typical BB pvp match never took a large amount of time if both participants were rocking top tier gem.

Luck doesn't just affect bleed, it affects poison build up too. The point of this build is to apply poison and then just evade and let the poison kill them. Troll fight clubs with this, they'll either black crystal out or jump off somewhere to end it faster. if they get desperate to try to end you just parry them, but don't riposte.

Speaking of HP and NG, fighting 2bros on NG+++++ was weird. Lorian had a lot of HP in the first phase, and then in the second phase Lothric had insane HP... while Lorian had so little I could down him with three direct Vestiges. Phase two ended up being easier than phase one because I'd knock Lothric off so fast and often that Lorian could barely get more than a handful of combos off in total before it was over.

To put it to perspective, Dark Souls 3 didn't have any shit areas barring Propaned Capital, but none of them are as memorable as the high points of DS1.

Literally no area compares to Sen's Fortress / Blighttown / Tomb of the Giants. On the other hand, the amount of bland shitfests was in the minimum too, so credit to the devs for that. I think the level design is much more reminiscent of Demon's Souls than Dark Souls brcause everything is solid, but nothing really stands out as particularly great or memorable either.
