I just watched the last 10 forte videos posted to NND. With a decent slvl 10 pool, forte does around 100k~ less than djeanne on the first ougi. She does about 250k more than Vira. Her autos are about on par from turn 1.

But if you count her 1st skill at the start of the fight and after the ougi, she actually does an insane amount of damage more. +600k. Am I missing something? She's easily on par with djeanne without the insane damage reduction and death timer.

It's a simple cycle. Every time a character is released, you'll have people saying "She's good" or "She's bad". Neither group is more likely to be correct when there's no information, but what happens is that people who decide a character works will ignore it and move on because there's nothing to talk about, people who decide a character is bad have reason to complain to try and fix it.

What happens is that afterwards, people will repeat what they hear without looking into the issue themselves. And then after that, a third group will repeat what they hear from the second group repeating the first group of complainers. Logic vanishes from the situation because something has been repeated long enough to become "fact".

People have been defending Forte by citing videos of her output, referring to the Japanese tier list which has had her listed among the top attackers for weeks, and presenting her numbers, but none of those posts or your posts will change the mind of people who hate her. It should be obvious to anyone that no matter who you decide to believe at first, you can look up the information yourself, but when someone has accepted something as a fact then there's no reason to dig into it.

And that's how lies and misinformation spread.

With a baha axe it's slightly more. With a dagger, it's about 1/6th less on turn 1. From turn 2-5 Djeanne is doing more, however on turn 6 she's doing half as much. And she doesn't have spam damage. And then there's 4? turns of downtime again where Djeanne does no bonus damage.

Consider if Djeanne is doing 220k damage and forte is doing 160k on auto attacks. That's way less than the actual difference I've seen. Forte also has DA up and crit up during this time like Djeanne, but not to the same extent. 220k - 160k = 60k x 2 Forte DA misses ) x 3 turns = 360k

So even if Djeanne hits for triple attack and forte misses every single DA, then the damage is still half the total of Forte's spam skill. Count 6 turn damage penalty on Djeanne, she's doing 60k while Forte is still doing 160k and forte's DA buff is about to come up again.

The only reason I can see wanting to take Djeanne over Forte is if you are sure that the boss will die before 8 turns and it's not AT.
