It was Pokémon Go without random encounters, and much more focus placed on controlling territory.

There were also more features in place that helped you more than there are in pogo. You can search for nearby portals and there are missions that contain entire pre-planned routes that hit a ton of stops.

Also there's only two teams which makes the competition more predictable.

Just from what I see in videos, the map seems better. Like the GPS turns with you and is more accurate, the pokestop equivalents are more than just free shit, there's a feed of people near you, and chat.

I dunno, just seems like Pokemon GO is extremely simplified. Which is probably deliberate.

I'm fucked and can't really enjoy Pokemon GO because my town is way too small. So maybe it gets more complex later, or maybe the simplicity makes it better because of the social element.

Pick whatever team your friends are playing on, coordination is the most OP tool in the game for holding gyms regardless of the current strength in your area.

If you have no friends then pick whatever team consistantly holds the gyms closest to you so you can park your mon there. You might want to wait and scope out how often gyms flip before deciding to join a team

Head on over to the Reston Town Center too via silver line if you need any of those since I can confirm 100% they're dedicated spawn points. Lures are up 24/7 there, it has like 5 gyms as well, 59490095 pokestops, and you can walk a good 2 miles from the metro stop to the RTC for your egg hatching.

I've played ingress for years. It never really got out off beta mode and the was no real interaction because you could drive by everything. It was essentially click the portal once and find a new one. Pokemon go is better because there's a chance to find Pokemon everywhere and you actually have stuff to collect and stats to check. You actually fight and level up your guys.

Also ingresses invite only nature meant that no one was playing it enough for it to really feel like you were playing with people. I'm sure Pokemon go will die down a bit, but they seem to have a path at least to keep adding content (battles, trading, etc.) With ingress you could get to level 2 and you've already done everything in the game. Not to mention portals could be tanked up so hard that you can never break them open as a lowbie. Level 8 portals will drain 50% of your XM reserves when you try and attack them. Because you have to use XM to do everything this means you basically have to either get higher level people to carry you or shoot the portal once and then walk 2-3 miles to build your XM back up.

this game uses the same level system as ingress. expect to play for atleast a year before reaching the level cap

25 is where everyone will end up. after 25 the game gets hard as fuck and there is very little benefit.

1-25 is like a week of casual playing, 25-50 is going to be at minimum 50x the exp required for 1-25 (based on ingresses level system which had 8 as the "min" and 16 as the "max")
