I topped over the 3 blue and 2 red gyms in my town. Unfortunately had to spare a Red because I ran out of mons. They all had 1k+cp mons and my highest was a 553cp Jolteon. I'm loving the battle mechanic, it's so easy to dodge and fire off moves in rapid succession and a heavy one before dodge tanking for a bit while sneaking in shots here and there. How did I do, anons? I'm the sole Yellow representative in my area too.

I've had it freeze when I try to enter a battle with a pokemon that appears on the map, and freeze when it goes in a pokeball.

The good news is forcing the app to close and relaunch makes it pick right back up where it was. The pokemon is still located right where it was before, and if I caught the pokemon, it's sitting in my party fine.

Keep them all, calculate how many you can evolve with how many candies you have, transfer everything over that number, pop a lucky egg and evolve them all.

For maximum autism, you can include how many candies you'll get from transferring THOSE and keep the appropriate number of mons to evolve in a second batch.

Just do it. Since it grants you a good amount of XP, which helps you level up. Higher trainer level will net you better CP pokes.

Especially if you it's common around your area.
I have growlithes and ratatas everywhere so I just evolve and candy them if they get a low CP.

So I went through the trouble of transferring the .apk for this game since I don't have Google services on my phone and there's no standalone download like 99.999% of apps, took an entire day to make an account because of "maintenance", found out my password didn't work, took another day and a half to reset the shit because of "maintenance", made a new password - which can only be 15 characters, by the way - and typed it in on my phone, and now it just says "unable to authenticate".

In short, typing is more or less the same as it is in the mainline games for calculating super effective or non-effective moves. I don't know exact numbers because I haven't seriously experimented with it though.

One important note is that there is a trade-off between damage power and animation speed. Weaker attacks come out a LOT faster and thus build up the secondary attack bar a lot faster. Hyper Beam looks cool as fuck but it's not practical because it takes a long time to charge up and an even LONGER time for the animation to go through, all the which you're still taking damage from the AI opponent.

If you go fairly slow and early in the morning it's actually rather convenient. Very few people and little traffic and you can look at your phone every once in a while to see if there's a rare pokemon nearby. Also if you need to get to a place to farm specific pokemon you can do that much faster while biking

I went on a pokebike ride today. It's not too bad but yeah, it's a bit of a double edge when you live in a major city. I live in Los Angeles and riding through Downtown is a bit too cumbersome.
It made my 1.5 hour route into a 2.5 one.

I think I'm going to set up around this ride. Like just route through clusters of pokepoints, make a few pit stops there for items and keep biking on.
