it's not really sold like on an ebay store, just made by a guy on ZSR in waves (ie, whenever he feels like making more).

it has four stick mapping settings, one for oot, mm, sm64, and finally the GC versions of oot and mm (which use the same emu software so the mapping is the same). It makes the control stick behave more closely to how it would on a real n64, with more accurate range and a smaller deadzone. But using a raphnet GC controller adapter on an n64 (what ZFG uses) is still much better for ess position, because the deadzone is even smaller. you can also make the triggers behave like the GC version on VC (50% analog press) or the VC version on GC (full press). 50% press is almost always better to use.

Speedrunning is about mechanically optimizing a game. The timer is just how we measure this. Faster loading screens are artificial and meaningless time save. If you want hardware to do your speedrunning for you, download an input file and play the TAS on your emulator.

Well enough to learn the basics but not to become really good i'd say.
It lags horrible in certain spots and you pretty much need an n64 controller or something with a similar button layout to master the speedtech.
Think nosraef used to run it on emu and got a somewhat accaptable time.

I'd recommend you try it out on emulator but if you really like it you should definitively get it on console. Japanese carts are pretty cheap.

buy the official sony brand s-video cable, which is still available brand new for a reasonable price, and a gv-usb2. if you want a component option, there are lots of good internal cards out there but be prepared to spend 2-3x as much.

the reason I suggest the original cable instead of a third party one with an additional component output (that you can have the added benefit of playing on a tv with while recording from the s-video output without needing a splitter) is that they are almost always wired incorrectly, with a composite signal routed to the s-video end, and this will give you an awful picture with a checkerboarding pattern on the image. avoid.

Either way, it's an alright run. The definition of glitchless is arbitrary to the casual viewer, and uninteresting to some versed in speedrunning. It was a little too long for what it was, but if you need some background noise it's a good run.

Really? 99% of commentators don't even mention it on my videos. As long as I don't go through a wall they don't care about or probably don't even recognize minor glitches that I arbitrarily allow. May be different with the GDQ audience that is used to seeing OoT with glitches.
