It's not really, I own a wii u and most of the games for it are iterative entries in a pre-existing ip and there aren't a lot of games for it that aren't very breezy, casual affairs

there are good games for it if you like the ips but it's not a console I'd recommend buying and you get fucked out of playing like 3/4ths of games if you have it exclusively

I'm trying to get into Fighting games and I guess I'm struggling. to elaborate a bit on the pre-jump frames thing, the absolute minimal input for a 720 to come out in sf4 is either 4268426 or 6248624

zangief and thawk both had 6 pre-jump frames, meaning that the moment they touched the 8 input they had 5 frames left to perform 3 directional inputs this allows for a maximum of two unnecessary diagonal inputs at most, but you still have to skip at least two diagonals (usually 7 and 9 is the easiest). You could give yourself one extra frame of breathing room by kara cancelling into the ultra from gief's super (so doing 4268426+lp~mp+hp) meaning you get one extra frame of breathing room at the cost of a more complicated button press sequence at the end, but its still incredibly difficult without an input device that can easily bypass diagonals (i.e. a hitbox)

hugo has 8 pre-jump frames, meaning that the moment you hit upforward or upback, you have 7 frames to input 8963214 or 8741236, which is 7 inputs, so hugo can do a standing 720 just by doing a 4123698741236 or 6321478963214 motion very quickly: you dont need to miss any diagonals, its just a fast 1.5x rotation + PPP
