Pokemon Go can be described simply as the Geocaching of Pokemon. Grab your smartphone, get some exercise, catch some mons, battle some people - the usual Pokemon gig.

Basic info:
As you traverse the real world, as represented on the in-game map, you'll occasionally run into tufts of rustling grass. Approaching these will end with a Pokémon appearing on the map, and clicking on it will initiate a battle.
Battles aren't between two Pokémon, though. They're between a Pokémon and your ability to swipe a Poké Ball in their direction. When you engage a Poké Ball, a colored ring will appear around the opponent. These change in size after each capture attempt. Throwing a Ball during a smaller window seems to be more effective, based on our time with the game, but that's a part we're still trying to figure out.
Going near water will attract water Pokémon. Playing at night brings out more nocturnal creatures, like Clefairy and Gastly.
Hatching Eggs: Each Egg displays the number of kilometers you must walk for the Egg to hatch. In general, the more kilometers required, the rarer the Pokémon that will hatch. A notification will appear when the Egg has hatched.
Make sure you have the Pokémon GO app open while you walk. Kilometers walked when the Pokémon GO app is closed won’t count toward hatching your Eggs.
Gyms: Fight at your team's gym to train and increase it's reputation. Fight at other team's to decrease their reputation. Tap your opponent to hit them, swipe left or right to dodge attacks, once one or more blue bars are filled, tap and hold to power up your secondary attack, release when the smaller blue bar fills up. Take over other teams' gyms and put your mons in to defend them.

Which means as you have less new pokemon to catch you get less stacks of stardust and as pokemon require more pokeballs to catch due to high CP it takes longer to farm.

I work in the city. There's gyms everywhere. You can put more than 10 in gyms but you only get the bonus for 10. It's better to put as many in gyms as possible in case some get knocked out.

It's not really P2W since there's no real win objective. The collecting is there, the battling is there, it's all so simple that you can't really fail at it completely.
But whether it's fun or not is another question. It's mindless, and it can be fun, but it can also just be...well, mindless. The novelty is there. Nostalgia might make it better. If you're looking for an excuse to exercise this can be it. But you'd have to try it to see if it's fun. Just don't go in expecting a traditional pokemon game.

On a scale of 1-10, 1 being cosmetics only, 10 being literally impossible to beat whales, about a 6-7, considerable advantage from unlimited incense and lures, but still possible to beat out others.

I tried android emulators but only got as far as "failed to recognize location" or something like that not the GPS error.

Yes, catch everything, keep the highest CP one and transfer the rest. You want all the candy and stardust you can get. Except Zubats. Fuck Zubats. They're only there to waste your pokeballs on.
It's fine to keep high level dupes too to defend gyms. Don't put your strongest pokemon in gyms, use them to train and battle gyms instead, and put a still pretty high level one in the gym.

There aren't many other particular stats to note. It won't change how fast you tap the screen anyways. Attacks are basically just another number, and it isn't like there's any other statistic to run off of that's actually confirmed.

No, once you claim you get a 21H cd. even if you lose your gym, the CD remains.

HItting inside the green/yellow/red circle gives Nice or Great bonus which give 10 or 20? xp, if you spin the ball as you throw it you can get another 10xp but it's hard to do and you'll miss a bunch of pokeballs.

Don't know for sure but I've heard it's like a multiplayer for attack points as pokemon with higher CP do more damage with the same attacks. Acts kinda like Levels I guess

Yes, but only ever 20 hours. So if you have a couple of nearby gyms you plan to get, I recommend getting those before grabbing coins.

Well if you're saying "core" in terms of their old Ingress player base, this really isn't a bad version of Ingress. It's not great, it doesn't really improve on much, and the Pokemon theme is a bit of a gimmick, but the general idea is still there, pokemon being XM, Gyms being portals, etc. etc.
If you're saying core in terms of diehard pokemon fans, that's probably the least likely crowd they'll keep considering how bare bones this thing is. If pokemon fanatics came in thinking this would be literally Pokemon X/Y/Z or whatever ported into the real world....well yeah niantic's done a GREAT job.

You also have to reduce your diet to make any kind of considerable weight loss, which fat people don't do and that's why they're fat.
Literally, just eat less for every meal and stop eating junk food/fast food, and you'll notice a chance within a few months, also depending on how much you already eat. Though if you only eat less, you also lose lean tissue which is why exercise is also recommended.

You just have to systematically guess the correct direction by using the footprint indicators. If you use your highest pokemon now, then if you attack another gym, you'll be weaker because your strongest is off somewhere else. Just leave not the weakest but mid-tier in the gym.
What I do is bum-rush a bunch of gyms when I'm heading home from work and take my pokecoins/dust when I've done all the gyms on my route.
By the next day, they'll have been taken over but I can just do it again later on. I get more coins and dust from 3-4 gyms that were mine for a few hours than from one gym that maybe lasts a day or two

At first, it was annoying but I prefer the new egg system so I can choose which ones get used by the 3-use incubator.
And I doubt any other company could've done a better job than Nintiac considering they have experience with the base exploring part of the game. I wish combat was better though.

No you don't have to throw inside the circle for the increased chance. Throwing inside the circle nets you bonus xp though and the smaller the circle the better the xp, starts at 10 if the circle is huge, 50 if it's halfway and 100 if it's tiny.
