It could've been better. It looked good and music was fine to. What ticked me off about it was how unbalanced the shots were, some were utter shit and others were really good. There was also something stupid going on with the bomb-stock. Like Touhou, but not quite as enjoyable. Patterns that spell sudden death if you're not far away from the source were annoying as they are atypical for actual Touhou, which is all about patterns that can be navigated in interesting ways. Strange shot types but I guess you can just play one that seems good and ignore the others. I didn't like playing it despite the nice visuals and music.

Anyone here versed in Under Defeat HD? There's no guides or FAQs anywhere online that I can find.

I understand that there's an alternate mode after First Loop that flips the screen and adds stuff, but I can't find information about the different planes and stuff.

The enemies are in different locations. If you're trying to git gud at the game I imagine you want to be able to 1cc it. Being familiar with the enemy locations is going to help you a lot with that. But if you are trying to 1cc 1.5 you may as well be playing that instead I guess.

-I like the enemy that aims at you and tries to ram, good attack design
-Thirty lives, just like NES Gradius!

-Boss pattern where bullets came from the sides was great
-Program icon and loading icon makes me laugh even though I really don't know what I'm looking at

Cons:
-It's easy but obviously that's not a concern right now, you want it done.
-It has the Darius Twin problem of sometimes having absolutely nothing going on, you could decrease some of those gaps between waves. But obviously given time it'd have more stuff.
-Patterns are pleasing geometrically but not terribly challenging. That last miniboss was okay because of bullet density. Consider tossing out two easy patterns at once or study the ol' Kenta Cho book of "Pleasing geometric bullet patterns that will absolutely murder you" idk you're the dev not me, yeah it's fine considering time constraints
-Didn't have a ridiculously over the top boss warning message during the transition from normal stage to bossfight. I'm just giving you a hard time, it was pretty good man. But seriously toss a boss warning in there. Make it your own!
