If you do, you can get the full hot spring event immediately in NG+.
Otherwise you need NG++.

Not really, I got it without any help. However I think it's possible to miss it.
If you plan to get the plat it really doesn't matter, just play it straight and do your best.

If you want to know, I'll try to put them in a not very spoiler manner.
The critical points are
- All overlords 100% affection.
- Not doing something wrong in chapter 5. Mini spoiler: defeat the sub-boss.
- Triggering flag in chapter 9. Search around again when you are at this point.
- Triggering flag in chapter 7. Another mini spoiler: die in first fight
- Getting enough affection points. Just think of this as getting around 150million points per character. It's okay to have a little lesser at the start.
This will get you to the true end.

Steins;Gate happened between PQube and 5pb, the original translators had no idea until the announcement. Then the translators contacted PQube in hopes that they could work together to localize future Science Adventure titles (and given that they were faux-secretly working on a Chaos;Head Noah fan translation this is how those rumors started). In the end, it seems 5pb decided to go with internal localization for Steins;Gate 0, but the Steins;Gate team seems to have found a nice opportunity regardless.

I like how PQube is giving attention to all these niche games, but kinda sad that none of them are titles I'm interested in so I can't support them.

Actually the only thing I'm interested in that have some sort of relation to PQube was GGXrd Revelator, but they were only publishing that and I bought the JP version anyway.
