I'd shitcan the overtime mechanic and do it from the ground up. I don't care if kaplan says it happens in a small percentage of games when it happens in an inversely large percentage in mine. the overtime thing should be halved every time a contesting player dies on the point or something, or halved when a tracer just jumps onto the point.
It's too annoying to have the clock reset every damn time somebody touches the point. Especially on maps like Hanamura and Anubis when the spawn is so close as well.

Isn't this the issue though? it seems just the same as the current overtime mechanic where the clock stops when somebody touches the point. The problem is that players can abuse this by picking Tracer etc. jumping onto the point and evade the enemy teams fire, buying time for teammates to respawn and contest again.

Whatever the outcome, the current system needs reform though.

As flawed as competitive is I think its a required game mode. It separates they try-hards from the non-tryhards. Pre-patch nothing was worse then someone picking "non-healer class" when a healer was needed with other similar problems. Does anyone else think Reaper is the most effective character when defending a point? Defending Point A on Numbani or King's Row for example is so easy it's crazy. Go from point to point, going into a building and waiting for some guys to come in or go past and killing them often before they even have a chance to properly react. And up close to a team on a point you can annihilate three or four quickly all the time. And that's before even using the ult.

Getting 20+ killstreaks within a few minutes constantly on these maps.

All of them. Though looking at my career profile it seems like I've actually only played seven so far in-game. But those were the ones I felt even slightly confident in, as target practice just made the rest feel like things I'd get fried in.

Soldier 76's Tactical Visor forces me into gameplay I feel is counter-productive to how I play him (run on side paths, work on quick stabs and run, bait the enemy into splitting up and getting their blockades in defense to fracture, maybe die, but get payloads moving faster) as it requires running into the fray and being the biggest goddamn target.
Bastion's okay for turret mode, but my Q never hits. Like, ever.
Widowmaker seemed like a good choice, since Sniper was my favorite in TF2, but the whole 'get on ledges' thing fails since I keep thinking certain ledges are walkable, and I'll hook over to them only to slip off and fall to the ground and just get wrecked.
Winston... I don't know what the fuck to do with Winston, his attack seems weak, his lunge keeps launching me into walls or doorways and wasting it, and his Q never hits anyone.
Pharah is so cool, but I just get wrecked by Snipers, and yet when I try to shoot pharahs I keep missing. So either I need to be better at Pharah, or I need to be better at Widowmaker.
Reaper and Lucio I remember playing once and getting nowhere and never touching again. Reaper's Q didn't work, and Lucio kept slipping down holes or getting wrecked by others. It always feels like the other side has aimbots or something, because when I try to dodge, I get shit on, but trying to shoot these guys has been a chore for me.

I'm sure I'm just shit, or I need to try a different character based on what I like to play, but I don't know where to start or what to work on. Help would be appreciated.
