Anyone a few units beneath the average height can run between certain monster legs and various other mid-combat openings. Loli and shota can crawl into goblin hidey holes in a section or two in the game but that alone isn't even close to worth the offsets.
Nude mod has an item burden modifier built in that really helps.

Tall character are less vulnerable to wind buffet (like what the drake and griffin do to push you back). They also have more range on their attacks and have more stamina, but they need more time to resplenish it.
Small character have smaller hitboxes, so they are harder to hit. They have less total stamina but they resplenish it very quickly. I think they also climb faster on monster but I don't know if it's true or not.

Only works with warrior weaps and certain skills/spells (frigor and gicel, for instance).

So, apparently the elemental damage on physical weapons doesn't scale off your magic stat despite appearing to on the status screen, but do magic skills cast with physical weapons scale with the weapon's magic? eg Grand Scension or Stone Forest. Making a gimmicky MA setup and don't know if I should go for framae or kunai (don't like how sapfire looks and already have two fire skills so I don't need a fire enchantment).

Works with bomb barrels and probably throwblasts/dragon's spits/coin purses of charity as well. Though why you'd use the latter is beyond me, and you'd probably be better off patiently using a pickaxe or light pickaxe than either of the former since they're much better for dealing serious damage to foes (especially with the vandal's ring).

I'm too stubborn to run away and I've been fighting it for like 10 minutes. I've barely done any fucking damage to it because that weak point is finnicky as hell to hit and if he touches me once I drop to 20% hp

Have heart, you're underleveled and almost certainly undergeared for that fight so just lasting ten minutes was probably decent.

If you have an ice weapon, that's what it's weakest to by far. The best way to get at its heart I find is to shoot its wings or heart when it takes flight so it falls on its side, or to target its head until it falls over when it's on the ground. Failing that, depending on what vocation you're rolling with most weapons have some combos or moves that are good for hitting the heart, and if you have any throwblasts are by far the best way to deal damage and deal with threats that are over your head earlygame and have a pretty low arc so it shouldn't be too hard to chuck them right under the heart to hit it.

If you stay close to where it spawns, it should also be possible (if you have enough stamina) to climb up its tail all the way to the heart when it flies to bring it down and deal nice damage.

Oh also in my experience the most dangerous/obnoxious thing it does is the roar that inflicts skill stifling. Since you're level 24 you almost certainly have little or no resistance to it and it's the worst status to be hit by short of petrification imo, it keeps you from using anything but core skills. If you're a warrior you may not hurt much from that, but any other class is gonna suffer. I suggest bringing panaceas or the specific item (drop of deliverance iirc) to cure it when it's inflicted.

Well, tested it myself but there's so many variables it's sort of hard for me to tell exactly. It SEEMS that the kunai's extra magic affects scension but not sunflare, but it's hard to tell if this is because scension happened to be hitting its head during some animations when I used kunai (tested on the cyclops in soulflayer).

He doesn't want the Duke, who is still Arisen, to slay the Dragon again and cement Gransys as a superpower as it shared a border with several other nations including his own. He does not respect the Duke or his retinue's lack of gravity, either. He does tell you, the player Arisen, that while you have a duty to slay the Dragon you have no duty to the Duke (and of course he is completely right about that, and it shows that he does not actually sympathise with Salvation or care if the hero that slays the Dragon is from Gransys- He wants the Dragon slain, and he does NOT want the Duke to be responsible for it).

I'd say it's possible that, like many people probably have, he kens that the Duke never truly slew the Dragon in the first place, as well, since he does not expect you to rise to political power upon slaying it- Which would also show that he has faith in you that he doesn't place in the Duke, even if you don't go down his (somewhat twisted and awkward) romantic route.

How do names work in Dragon's Dogma? If I say "Joe Bloggs", will they refer to me by my full name, or just with Joe?

Cyclops AI is, but I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be. Other than things randomly getting brined near water, which probably is a kink in the general AI, I haven't noticed many self-inflicted enemy deaths (eliminators have a tendency to charge off cliffs if you lure them, though), but cyclopes are literally too dumb to live. The first time I went through Soulflayer canyon, I used lyncean sight to attack the cyclops on the bridge from the canyon floor. It turned to see what hit it, noticed me, and walked straight towards me and fell to its death.

Decided to do a sorcerer playthrough and it's a lot of fun so far. Just unlocked exeguy and please, please, please, puhleeeeeeaze tell me this shit works on ogres. Even if it takes 20 minutes to cast it, that's still 10 minutes less than it'd normally take me to kill one.

Arc of Deliverance feels more fun than burst arrow. Cutting a Chimera in half or stopping a diving Griffin with an Arc of Deliverance is one of the best feeling.
I like the jumping attack meta with the Warrior because I'm an Ike main in Super Smash Bros and the Warrior moveset makes me feel right at home

Augments aren't bound to vocation though, you just play the vocation to unlock them. Clout also wasn't nerfed, the assassin augments that increase strength and magick during night or when you're alone did.

Meanwhile Assassin's formerly bread-and-butter invisibility got nerfed hard, and that's actually an assassin-specific skill and not an augment.

They don't hate warrior. They want warrior to be like Guts from Berserk, who despite being a powerful warrior is the underdog who has to scrape by with everything at his disposal because he combats deific and monstrous forces. The game is full of the flavour of Berserk and the console version even had Guts and Griffith's armour sets and weapons, which are not in the PC release due to licensing issues or something.

In certain circumstances, yes, ricochet hunter does the most damage in the game in tight quarters afaik. Immolation+thousand kisses is about on-par with blast arrows as well I think. The power of blast arrows tends to be overestimated, the main reason they're so OP is that they do so much stagger damage they can stunlock anything but damagewise plenty of things match or exceed them.

And yeah... i know that Brontide doesn't seem to actually be a good spell damage-wise but i remember always getting a mage that had that when i was still playing my Xbox 360 version a couple of years back. If you have framae blades they should still be doing a lot. Also drop dexterity for clout, jumping is usually better for getting up something fast than gloves of might/dexterity and I don't think the gloves and augment even stack anyway though I might be wrong.

I advise you to use immolation in addition to thousand kisses, especially when climbing, for ideal dagger damage. My usual setup is thousand kisses, immolation and magick rebalancer on the daggers and ninefold bolt, explosive volley and ricochet hunter on the bow, though you can do a lot of fun but less effective stuff. Grand scension can sometimes seriously fuck shit up as well, you'd be surprised.

There's a lot of distinctive pawns here and a lot of boring ones, once you get higher level you won't see so many trashy joke pawns though. A big secret to graphics is that the less you can actually see and the more that is left to the imagination, the better and more realistic it appears because the human mind tends to naturally fill in the blanks with realism. Hence why shitty distant level of detail can be effectively negated with fixed depth of field to blur it, lens flares and dark shadows make models and textures look better by partially or mostly obscuring them and leaving only silhouettes and so forth.

how the fuck do weapon upgrades work in this game? Do I just rank these ones up or am I supposed to craft/find new weapons?

For the base game you can do just fine buying the latest weapons available to you and upgrading them like you have done so far.

Later on when you access BBI (which was once a DLC area) you will find cursed items, which, after being purified, give you different types of equipment including weapons.

You can also sometimes find pretty decent weapons in chests.

There's at least one badge of vows that you won't be able to get after a certain point in the story, but collecting the badges of vows is incredibly tedious, anyway.

Is there a rule of thumb for recovery item crafting?
I'm getting smothered in a billion different herbs and potions, and I can never figure out which are actually worth it.
It doesn't help that I can't select my crafts by target object either, so I always have to memorize one ingredient and use that to craft what I want. Like, I needed another perfume to upgrade the corset, so I could either check all ingredients in my storage manually, or check the wiki, even though I already had one perfume and should be able to craft another.

They first appear in noki bay iirc so you may not have seen them yet. They allow the arisen to perform an extra high boosted jump when you bounce off of them. You can still boost even higher with fludd.

I think the term you're looking for is a "leitmotiv".
And I do love the use of the Eternal Return leitmotiv in just about every major song in Dragon's Dogma.

The one that makes my eyes moist everytime (spoiler) is still the Cassardis theme heard at the very end of the game when Big Papa S is giving you the choice

I mean, it's the same effect in Eternal Return. I think it's more that I find something touching about fallen heroes and those verses are all about the Dragonforged and Ashe, the calamity on the scale of a nation on the one hand and the Romantic tragedy on the other, both leaving the world wanting for the cycle to be complete. I also like higher-pitched female voices, so that helps.
