Because the first stretch is complete shit and no fun at all. Even the most basic of things like Hard raids are nearly impossible when you've just started, so you're forced to do nothing but leech and pray for anything, even SR trash, to drop. There's no feeling of winning or earning anything because you didn't even kill the most plebian of fights by yourself. You can barely even play events which are supposed to be one of the main sources of fun in a game like this. I started two days before Slayers and when the fight came up in the event so I could get Naga I was absolutely floored at how stupidly hard it was since I had no weapon pool to back up my characters and thus couldn't even scratch the damn thing, and you can't even leech those fights since they're solo. Before it was over I just ticketed Yoda with my SD and wiped it out like a shitter. And since then I could start wiping out Hards and not have to ask someone to kill those for me either, and thus started make actual god damn progress. The beginning of this game is fucking boring and completely trash and I'm amazed anyone had the perseverance to keep playing this game before Yoda was a thing.

Yoda reduces grind and can provide a great help to minimizing start time. Issue is Yoda becomes a crutch for a lot of inexperienced players and they don't make use of him they way they should to build their pools so they can eventually move away from easy and cheap power. This in the end makes me worse players and plenty end up quiting before even reaching 100+. But inherently, thered nothing wrong with the existence of Yoda himself per say, but the habits he usually instills in people.
