I managed to get to 600 points with Mika today after taking advice from fgg, mainly trying to mimic Fuudo's style, poke a lot with mk and c.mk, going for simple stuff like target combo into butt

I have a few questions

1. What do I do next? I feel like my game is really basic right now and I still don't know how the fuck does Irish Whip works

2. How do I use Nadeshiko effectively? Any video tutorial on that? I usually just pop it to make people panic so I can get a free jump-in

3. What do I do once I get them in the corner? My gameplan doesn't really change when they are cornered but I feel like I should be doing more

1) Irish whip is useful. You do f+mp once, then again to actually throw them, then from there you can do a decent amount of stuff.

2) I still don't know how to use her well, but she's pretty much a combo extender assist from Marvel. If you irish whip someone, call nadeshiko to hit them towards you, then f+hp to knock them into the sky then either do the wingless airplane, or ex peach bomber.

3) Once you get someone into a corner start applying pressure, do a lot of tick throws to keep them on their toes, and make sure to command grab them.

a good thing to do every once in a while is to cr.HP into ex command throw and occasionally do a dive bomb.

What you are lacking are the basic fundamentals on how you are supposed to approach neutral and wakeup game in games like this.
The absolutely worst you can do when waking up is pressing random buttons.
Throws aren't that dangerous in Melty and there are very few dps that make me consider twice doing a meaty on you.
This goes the other way too, you should get in and start meaty pressure whenever you get a knockdown.
As for neutral goes, you need to be more active with your far reaching normals and use specials to complement them. Ryougi has her crescent slash which is a very good tool to discourage airdashing towards her.
Also, I highly suggest that you switch to F-Ryougi instead of C if you're dead set on playing her.
C is just worse version of F with a few gimmicks and a custom combo.

Well for starters you should find out if your character has any dp style moves.
I think Ryougi 236C is a pseudo reversal that has some invulnerability but it might get beat by some moves.
The standard wakeup strategy in Melty is to just block so that should be your go to option.
If your opponent is good he won't let you go with just blocking but against shitters like me it should work well enough to get you back into neutral or let you jump out.
That's where the shield comes in but you shouldn't worry about that too much when starting out.
Using your shield bunker (alpha counter) is something you should try though, it's pretty simple to use if you're used to Dead Angles from GG or V-Reversals from SFV.
Here is a simple combo for F-Ryougi to get you started.

Do you use any nadeshiko setups? For example cr.hp cancel into back nadeshiko then if they blocked the cr.hp do qcf+mk to cross them up and if nadeshiko hits you can combo f.hp ex wingless airplane. If the c.hp hits you just combo hp, charged hk then ex peach or airplane.

When you have them in the corner be ready with cr.mp because they will try and jump out. Also if they start neutral jumping in the corner remember you can catch that with ex airplane.
