I've seen people speculate that it's because of Witchie and Dessie. Renaming her Vixie keeps her name in line with both of theirs and she's also a guardian like they are. They become the ie suffix trio that way.

The people in charge of the project mentioned the name on the livestream yesterday. They didn't go into specifics, they just called Inari Vixie is all.
They only mentioned taking suggestions for Lissete, but I'm sure if enough people complain they'll change it or keep it the same.

Some quick questions about RF4 while I wait for the third arc. No spoilers in this post.

- is there any combination of items that will actually provide more stats than at least one tenfold ? I have a friend that said this is true and to not bother with tenfold but he's also a retard

- is it worthwhile leveling up shit like sword and dungeon seeds if I'm not a diehard completionist that has to get everything to level 10?

- is it possible to start doing Sharance at level 145 with a +2203 attack sword or must I wait for 3rd arc

Tenfold is pretty useful. Most of the high level recipes use it.

Sharance can be done early on if you've got the skill for it. Early mazes aren't anything difficult and wearing a Rosary makes getting through it a piece of cake.

Best gear is in the third arc though. The materials to make the best gear are only found there.

In terms of pure stats, no, but to be honest Tenfold isn't really that essential unless you're one of those OCD minmaxing types. Between the base stat boosts from upgrading gear from tier to tier and by using level 10 materials and particularly things like giant golden crops and giant crystal flowers you can get some really nifty QL and RL bonuses going, and giant crystal flowers in particular are nice in that at level 10 they're 20% immunity to earth/fire/wind/water, so you can get yourself up to near/full immunity to those by working it into your armor and accessories.

I only messed with them late-game where they don't seem to scale very well, but even at level 10 seed gear seemed pretty pathetic so don't bother.

It's hard as balls, but possible and especially if you cheese it with the OP Wand (7 filler/+ MA items, Dragon Bones, Rainbow Waterpot used to enhance a staff). It's even worth going in for suicidal chest runs since top-tier gear can spawn there even in the lowest areas, I managed to get my 4 Dragons Vest from a sharance chest 1 screen in and it was a massive defense boost at the time, so who knows what you'll find.

So I picked up Trails of Cold Steel as my first Legend Of Heroe's game and currently I'm finding it too cut and paste and just overall generic for my tastes, albeit I'm on chapter 2. Are the other games less chuuni than Trails of Cold Steel or is the series just not for me?

I accidentally bought Story of Seasons while it was on sale on the eShop, thinking it was Fantasy Life. I was relieved to find out that it was just a rebranding of Harvest Moon (err, Bokujou Monogatari), and not the Natsume Harvest Moon which was supposedly bad.

Is Story of Seasons good? I've never played a Harvest Moon or Rune Factory game before, and I don't know how it plays.

You get to eat some food and see a conversation between some townspeople. It's random who you get.

After this you get to pick a dance partner. You choose from two lists. One for male and another for female NPCs. You can even dance with the can't haves/already married.

Based on what I know, Sen / Steel feels the most "anime" of the Kiseki games in that shit like battle schools are involved. However, the game still delves a lot into the political, military and economic dimensions of the setting regardless. I'm at chapter 3 and I'm almost 40 hours in. I'm actually having a blast with it so far. Usually I'm sketchy / wary on ANNIE MAY COMBAT HIGH SCHOOL settings but the game presents it in a nice manner. I like that every NPC in the academy (teachers, students) has an identity and unique design and isn't just Student 1 or 2. Fun part is seeing how the dialogue always changes regularly.

I've made it a habbit to talk to everyone in the campus grounds and the towns during the Field Studies everytime the dialogue banks / events change.

I even have fun with just minor shit like the in-game books / magazine articles / newspapers that can be accessed from the notes menu.

I came into this game with low expectations, thinking I would only end up giving a shit about the waifus and that the guys were only there to balance genders but I'm digging the entire cast so far.

Of course, the game still has its fair share of cliches especially compared to older Kiseki games like Sora which I heard dont use them as much but I've played worse. The cliches are present but they aren't as in your face as other recent JRPGs / SRPGs I've played in recent months like Stella Glow.

Gosh darn it, 16 years ago in GBC 3 we could have partners fully capable of (eventually, if you played the male PC) helping out with the farmwork, there's no excuse in this day and age they can't do so (and yes, I know monsters in RF can water plants and whatnot and in Oceans completely do the farming bit for you, but then you have to micromanage them since they work themselves half to death). Being able to set work orders for your spouse and kid so they can take care of the monotonous crap like watering crops and feeding/brushing/sheering animals would be a godsend.

Are the Wii RF games worth getting? I'm bored during the summer and frontier looks like it'd be a blast.

Frontier is basically a somewhat-improved RF1 from what I've gathered, Oceans is more a hack-and-slash deal with farming you can outsource to your monsters. They're interesting titles and OK if you can find them at a discount, though RFF's runey system might make using a cheat device or an emulator with cheat support worth it due to how much of a pain it is.

Endless Threats

As you battle to the bitter end in “Counter-Attack Battles” to defend your base in cooperation with the castaways, you’ll be able to take on special Counter-Attack Battles known as “Endless Threats.”

An “Endless Threat” is a super-difficult Counter-Attack Battle where large enemies, such as the huge and powerful Ancients you’ve encountered on The Isle of Seiren, will attack your base one after the other.

Sub Dungeons

In Ys VIII, there are sub dungeons not connected to the main story scattered all over the Isle of Seiren.

There’s an “Underground Waterway” formed by natural erosion, a “Coastal Cave” once utilized by pirates who embarked on the island long ago, “Big Stone Pillar Airholes” inhabited by strange plankton, and various other places of those types.

While exploring The Isle of Seiren, you may be able to find unexpected items and information by taking on these sub dungeons, and obtain “Adventurer’s Tools” that will help you on your adventure. Depending on the situation, you might even find a missing castaway that went into hiding…
