Both Cahir and Ciri had no chance against Bonhart in a 2v1, also there was a wounded angouleme in the situation, Ciri got very lucky in her fight against Bonhart even if she had an advantage because she trained on the pendulum years before.

As for the unicorn crap, basically that fucking unicorn popped out of nowhere and let Ciri draw some magical power from him to heal Geralt, and the Isle of Avalon is a mythical place from the Legend of King Arthur where Arthur was healed in after he was injured in a battle, so the place must be some weird ass place between the realm of the living and the dead, could help with recovery or some shit.

Then Ciri took off so the Wild Hunt would not detect the place, but considering it was named the Isle of Avallach in Witcher 2, Avallach must have betrayed the location of the place to Eredin, then the whole Wild Hunt/Geralt thing happened.

Then Ciri fucked off to Camelot, possibly was attacked by the Wild Hunt later, then she started teleporting between space and time with the Wild Hunt at her tail.

Or you can just say Ciri was bullshitting Galahad and both Geralt and Yennefer died.

How do I fix this?

This is fucking up my whole W3 experience.

Everywhere I go in Novigrad shadows are popping in or out, and little things like building details pop in just after 15 feet.

I've got a 8310 and a 970, this shouldn't be happening unless it's the game itself.

This game's performance is really weird. I have it completely maxed out with Hairworks turned on for everyone, and when I'm in towns and running around outside I get 100+ FPS consistently. The moment a cutscene plays and it gets closer to Geralt's face, the framerate dips into the 50s. I ran up next to a wall and positioned the camera so it was right next to Geralt's face and my FPS went from 133 to 51.

What gives? Is this from Hairworks or something else? I have a 1080, so I figured it would eat this game for breakfast.

I feel like the first game had the best equipment system, where you only replaced things a handful of times the entire game. The variety in 3 was nice, but it was mostly useless noise. The armors looked like a colorblind person's pajamas and the standard swords were rarely good enough to stray from witcher gear, I don't think I used a non-witcher weapon from getting the Griffin sword until Heart of Stone

Are there any essential mods?
I've been looking into it since I'm starting the barons quest and i don't want to do the Ciri bath scene clothed.
I figure i might as well get other shit installed as well.

Witcher gear is just going to be the best because of how good the bonuses are and they should be since they take a ton of materials to make.

The armors would look fine/better if you at least got matching shit. most of the time it reminded me of leveling in TBC. Thankfully you can simply buy the Nilf armor and use it at level 10 which lasts you until you make your first witcher set.

Just more flexibility. If you keep it un modded think youll only fill out 1 tree and have a few left over by the time youre at the end of the game. Theres a 3x per level mod and that lets you grab every talent by the end but i find that excessive.

The mod wont break the game by making it easier mind you.

I'm re-reading the books, while I always figured Dandelion has known Geralt longer than any other character aside from the Wolf School witchers, I think that technically goes to Emhyr and Crach, given the timeline. While it's possible for Dandelion to have been a famous bard in his teens or well into his 40's in the games, I find it unlikely. Still, I wish more had been made of his friendship with Geralt, he's not really elevated over anybody despite being the guy's oldest and closest friend.

will the combat system ever be fun?
I played all 3 games.

TW1 can be played with literally one mouse connected to the PC, I found that appealing. The combat is kinda fun.

TW2 Combat is stupid but at least it's somewhat challenging. I even completed it 3 times just to explore all main skill trees.

TW3 normal mode. Barely any tactics involved. I use igni plus quick attacks. Crossbow is good, I found it useful underwater too. But in 24 hours literally couldn't make any different bolts due to the stupid crafting system.

Alchemy is absolute shit. I picked up tons of ingredients and recipes, still I can count on one hand how many basic potions I was able to concoct after 24 fucking hours...

Why do archers keep shooting in the crowd whenever Geralt fights a group?
