It's not the same as Lucio and Zenyatta both "heal slow" because they both heal slower than Mercy. Zenyatta heals more than three times as fast as Lucio does.

The tradeoff to Zenyatta's slow healing is that he can stay farther back from his healing target than either of the other two, and at the same time he can mark a specific target on the field for 50 percent more damage (Mercy's damage beam only does 30 percent more), which combined with the fact that he can attack with crazy range and no damage falloff while he does these two things makes him a dangerous character if played right.

The reason he's underpowered is because he has terrible survivability in a game with characters like Reaper and Winston, it has nothing to do with his healing. His healing is only slightly slower than Mercy's and it lets his squishy ass stay farther back while she has to be on the front line the entire time.

Remove his garbage RMB and give him a blink so Winston and Reaper aren't completely instant death sentences, and maybe turn his HP into armor or something. And his ult needs reworked too, I dunno why the fuck they thought it was a good idea to give the lowest HP lowest mobility class in the game an ultimate that only works when the target is within ass to cheek range of you but it's stupid

If you always have Amp It Up on cooldown then for every fifteen second window you get three of 40 HPS and twelve of 12.5 HPS whereas Zenyatta gets 30 HPS across the whole thing. Zen gets 450 total, Lucio gets 270. And if you want to bring in Lucio's Amp It Up, why not bring in Zenyatta's ult? How long do you think it takes to charge on average? Assuming he has at least one person within its radius for its maximum six second duration he heals 600 HPS during that time.

Tell whichever shitty Zenyatta players you've been playing with to switch healing targets. I still don't see how it's much different from Lucio. Lucio is good in situations where everyone is taking damage at exactly the same time but that rarely happens because it's always just one or two people at once.

Zen needs a slight buff to healing but it's more important that he gets his kit/health/mobility fixed so he can stay alive long enough to make use of them and he isn't a giant monkey-shaped bullseye the second he steps onto the field

Not any more so then Mercy from my experience, in fact Zenyatta has an easier time with his kit, since he doesn't have to choose between healing or boosting his team's damage, which I guess is his whole point. You need to play really, really cautiously with him.

I love picking him when I'm playing in a 3+ stack and have some protection/people following my discords. Works really well as a support's support and pairs nicely with a Lucio. But yeah his ult is pretty dumb considering you have to stay way back with him and his ult makes you literally be at the frontlines.

But boy oh boy is it a great feeling using transcendance through a bunch of enemy ults. My team was pretty hyped when they survived a Zarya + Hanzo wombo combo.

But yeah, for the most part Zen players suck at aiming, which is basically required to play Zen.

Exactly. Being able to sit in the back and just look at somebody and press shift to heal them without flying into the line of fire is great. Discord can also work wonders if you put it on a high-priority target like Reinhardt (you can't put it through his shield but when he drops it for his sick 100 damage Flame Strike you can hit him with it and it won't go away as long as you look at him).

This too. Zenyatta is like Genji. A good one under the right circumstances can turn the tide of a game and tear through the enemy team like a hot load through Kleenex but most people who play him aren't good ones and just miss shots all game and don't switch heal targets effectively.

As much as there's never going to be anything as game-changing as Mercy or Lucio's absurd ults I really do feel like with some tweaking and hopefully some reworks so that he can survive a little easier he can be a viable substitute for those two in the hands of somebody who really knows what they're doing. I don't think he's in that state right now, unfortunately. As much as I think he's one of the most fun heroes in the game and I wish he was.

Zen is very effective if you can get the first shot off and if you can lead your shots well enough to hit a target moving in three dimensions.

Unfortunately the second part is easier said than done and because lol same movement speed as everyone else and lol no movement abilities as soon as Pharah sees you your only hope is to start jumping around like a madman and hope that you kill her first
