I was thinking about trying out Mushin since it's the most populated, but I'm curious - if a character is on a different server but on the same account, can you still mail them things like gold/mats? Or is it only items that say "Account Bound" (like outfits, Naryu Tablets, Valor Stones, etc)?

FMs are wicked strong in this patch, there just is a serious lack of good FMs. If you take anything away from the current composition of top 50 ladder as some sort of indication of class balance you're just flat wrong.

There's just a really lopsided amount of certain players remaining that just so happen to be good on certain classes.

There's something you have to realize, anon. The majority of pubs do not know how to maximize their class, optimal animation cancels, or best rotations. They just want to unga bunga with their class. This is especially prevalent with range and it's why KFMs and BMs have fallen off.

If you're a new player, you're probably looking for general tips rather than class tips for a good while.

When you start, you'll soon get a purple "Hongmoon" weapon that's seemingly a lot better than everything else. Use it. You'll get "Hongmoon" accessories shortly after that as well (lvl +10). All the random drops, greens and blues, are just to be fed to these Hongmoon items as upgrade fodder. You'll be upgrading them until the level cap and beyond as they are the best items in the game by far for every slot.

- Don't use your unsealing charms.
- Don't buy anything from vendors. It's all expensive. Once you get access to the AH/player market (F5) you can buy all the food and potions for much less gold
- You'll start making money at lvl 36 when you reach the third major zone in the game. Before that you will be poor.
- Always look to upgrade your Hongmoon equipment as soon as you can as it will make leveling less painful.

As for the classes. Both are tanks in PvE when you play dungeons, and both are okay in PvP. KFM is arguably harder to level based on what KFMs have said, but then again I have no personal experience leveling one. KFMs have a downright shitty matchup in KFM vs. Assassin and sins are plentiful on the western PvP ladders so that might be something to consider. Don't really let it deter you from playing KFM if it seems more interesting, though.

As a BM, you have two stances: the basic stance and the draw stance. The basic stance is for CCing enemies and the draw stance is for dishing out damage. Unlike most classes, you have a block you can spam with practically no cooldown. Blocking puts you out of draw. As such, you're looking to avoid damage while trying to maintain a high draw stance uptime to dish out the most damage.

Not everything can be blocked, however; especially in PvP you can't just keep blocking. Sometimes you have to iframe things. KFMs counter rather than block and it requires more timing.
