The only endgame content that forces you to play with others are Raids and Patrol zones.
Raids are good for acquiring the currency to upgrade the item level of your gear. You can get this currency doing solo stuff but it's much faster doing the raids.
Patrol zones are amazing for exp which is used for Omega points to increase your power and for leveling Legendary Items. They are also excellent for obtaining Artifacts. You can get pretty much all Artifacts playing solo, it's just much faster when doing Patrols.
With the Patrols you're in there with other people but very rarely do they actually talk to each other.
Auto grouping is an option that can be turned off and on in the options.
It's a fun game and can still be a lot of fun if you play solo. Can always uninstall if you don't like it.

Nearly every endgame content is done solo. Raids and a small number of gamemodes aren't, but you can just do those with the guild when we do it. At most, you'll see other people playing with you, since the MMO aspect means you share instances.

It can be fine, but it can also basically lessen the amount of stat you are getting out of your gear, depending on what gear you are using..
In your example of Cyclops, you won't just be mixing ranged and melee, but also energy and physical. So if you equip an Industry City Signet (energy), or a Industry City Signet (ranged), your physical attacks won't benefit from the attack speed, critical hit rating, and proc on that ring.
Of course, that doesn't mean it is impossible to make such a build 'viable'. You'll just have a harder time doing it, and in the end it probably won't perform as efficiently as a more consolidated build.

It can be helpful to have a costume core with +25% spirit/health (up to whatever) on medkit use. Alternatively, you can sacrifice a bit of damage and swap Channeled Blast for Ricochet Beam, as his By The Numbers passive can regen spirit pretty fast while you're using a basic. Kinda depends. They said they'll be removing Red and Cosmic Terminals with "Red" becoming the new "Cosmic" equivalent. In combination, there will be the GDS to modify difficulty of the terminals (eventually, it's a separate update from DCL), with the new "Green" (which will be the Normal difficulty) giving double Cube Shards to not make players lose out on Cube Shards.
In summary, should be easier eventually for double the reward.

Like I agree with Gaz that they are undertuned at least for level 60s, but I wouldn't say 'historically'. That implies it's been like that since the start and not the power creep or new modes made it that way.
I don't agree the level of 'difficulty' they're making red and cosmic be. Cosmic is absurd since you instantly die regardless of gear, at least last time, which isn't difficult since you can constantly respawn back, but it's annoyance.
If they're after Greater Rift level of difficulties then just do that. Don't shit up the current game, but w/e it's not like they listen to anyone on this matter. It's happening no matter what.

Midtown you have to deal with puggas, higher health pools, longer wave timers. The only benefit to Midtown is that the bosses at the events spawn in clusters. Hightown has far lower health pools and wave timers, but the biggest issue is having to kill 300 enemies just to get a single boss to spawn, otherwise you have to wait several minutes for the event to time out. This means repeatedly you'll run into periods where you're doing nothing and waiting for the timer to finish.
CICP has nearly as low health pools as Hightown with the same 1 minute wave cooldown timers, but each event culminates in multiple bosses, with the only exception being Venom. If you have someone with a teleport, use them. With the event going on, CICP has the most benefits. CHT is still bugged and drops only a single Odin's Bounty chest from the purple bosses, whereas CICP drops 4 per boss. That includes purple bosses, event bosses, and every individual "boss" in the events (MGH Cooks, Serpent Idols, the Serpents that protect the idols, all five of Taskmaster's event, etc.). If you ignore Worldstone Caches, or open them on the spot, it's very easy to fill your inventory with the Odin's Bounty Chests and then splurge them during the leading missions to the boss spawns (which also are much faster than CHT's). For me, each chest gives me 1.5m XP, and that's quite a bit.

Blessings aren't broken, at least not inherently, they're simply an outdated mechanic that should have been updated alongside everything else in game instead of being left alone. The flat +5% BSR is crazy, sure, but that was the only reason people used Hela over everything else. Without changing all the calculations or reworking everything, they should have just given the other blessings +5% BSR and then made every blessing somewhat unique while avoiding flat DR, CDR, or BDR to prevent one being better than others. Without normalizing the blessings, there's no way to make them without one being overwhelmingly better than the others, especially since Hela still has BSR and BDR.

Ryolnir says "bruts were a mistake" and then you have Asros designing items for green goblin that give him a flat fucking 2000 BSR and then they give him a passive that gives like over 1000 BSR, so that he effectively has over 3k BSR BEFORE using shit like blessings, artis and so on
Nevermind the new boss uniques like the skrull uniform which is basically just a slot 4 coat of the skull, giving you another 400 BSR

Marvel Heroes hasn't introduced anything new in the game in a very long time to affect gameplay. Every hero is 95% a composition of every other heroes, which isn't a big deal when you make it visually different ie Ultron has nothing new. I'm not trying to insult MH, I've played like 800 hours of it, but I can say with confidence I know the flaws of it and Gaz hasn't addressed anything. It has always been quick bandaid solutions and Asros really applied a ton of it since his time at Gaz. Can I blame Asros? Not at all. He's doing everything within his realm of possibility.

That shit comes in boxes for doing a bunch of kill/fetch shit each chapter. The tasks themselves are simple as fuck if you spawn in a quiet, unglitched instance. If you can't, then you're competing in twitchy maps with fasttracked 60s, and things get complicated with the rate things respawn.
The mechanics they use are really pretty strange though. Anything that comes in a group as a "thing you're supposed to stop/destroy" that has a fixed spawn, for some reason, there's actually only one target in the whole mob that matters. EX the merc-group hunt in the storage yard, and the fixed point on top of the crates people camp. The only part that matters is killing one non-unique blue who rappels down a moment later. You can kill the whole group personally like it says, and you get no credit if someone else kills just that one guy.
The "intimidation" hunts in madripoor are outright broken and/or inconsistant, as well. There's no telling when you get credit for those and when you don't, even when only a single enemy is needed. The criteria seems to be "if the server feels like it."

The problem is that DCL will actually hurt new players. Right now you can say it's fairly easy for a new player to level his first 60, then get geared up and get a few omegas. But with this new DCL bullshit? Not a chance
People will take a lot more time to level, especially once story mode rewards get butchered and terminal LQs are no longer viable due to terminals being too fucking hard for the average player who doesn't have 10k omegas already
The idea of high levels being able to play with lower level players sounds neat in concept, but it's fucking awful in execution because it's going to kill all the shortcuts new players have to quickly get into the game. Nobody fucking asked for storymode to be harder, people asked for a separate level 60 story mode with its appropriate rewards. They are now taking one of the most relaxed parts of the game and taking all the fun out of it
Nevermind the fact that new players who reach 60 will have NOWHERE to fucking farm for their gear because cosmic terminals will get bumped up to ridiculous levels of difficulty for them. Trust me, I know how awful DCL. I've written an essay on the forums twice. The idea of normalizing everything is absurd and ruins the sense of progression. The notion of playing with friends could have been solved with a mentor system. Getting rid of 60s out of new players? Well why are they in the same zone in the first place? They haven't thought it through and it doesn't even seem like they even give a shit about user feedback since they havent even replied or acknowledge anyone's complaints.

Thor gets AoE complimentary with no loss to his single target. That's why he's one of the best in the entire game damage wise.
Ranged thor is on list with 3:02 single target. There's only 8 chars that can shave any seconds off that, and most of the rest of the game's characters are 1-2 minutes behind on single target damage.
It just so happens that when thor is obliterating a single target with lightning, he's also killing the other 20 enemies nearby for free.
The only thing less than perfect about Thor is that he's not a teleporter.

For BW, use her traps. She can wipe out bosses with a few of her moves (the sniper rifle, Coup de Grace, etc.) but her traps do wonders for wiping out mobs.
For Elektra, much like BW, she has a lot of high damaging single target moves, with some even insta-killing non-bosses. Besides that, Cut a Swath is her really good trash clearing move, with Shadowstrike and Not Even The Stars also having good AoE clearing.
What issues are you running into? BW has some spirit troubles, iirc, but I don't remember issues with Elektra.

Cosmic patrol zones are just patrol zones but slightly harder so you need better gear to get in and better skill to be useful while you're there.

With DCL, that same cosmic patrol guy was taking minutes solo. If a group of 1-dps afkers come tap him, you essentially need to just leave him because it's never worth 10 minutes to get 1 unique for the leeches.
They'll probably tune it, but the fact that months after they came up with the shitty idea, they put it on live with those numbers shows it's guaranteed to make users uninstall the game.

Depends on the hero. For Deadpool, I use almost all Ranged powers exclusively, but end my rotation with Cutting Room Floor, a Melee power. Cyclops is special in that his entire Punchclops melee tree is a practically a joke, and most people use Beast as a Melee/Bleed proc.
Gambit is a bit more flexible, though. He has plenty of Ranged and Melee skills, and I think you can play him as a hybrid that way if you'd like. Plenty of gear and Omega nodes to support that style of play (I use some on DP for example).

Problem is TPC got outmoded by straight i80 legendaries about a year ago, and then they deliberately crippled the hybrid i80 of choice Gungnir. Since then it's not only easier, it's better mathematically to just go one damage type. Good news is that it's good for only about 20 seconds in most cases so if you just really like playing hybrid then play hybrid.

Depending on who you play you may need to grind a bit/min-max to get into the Cosmic patrol endgame (it has a time trial DPS/survival challenge to unlock it), but it's pretty casual for the most part.

Kinda, yeah. It's nowhere near PoE levels of intensity. You can reset your skills whenever you'd like, play every hero to Lv10 to get a feel for them, grind to unlock heroes for free, etc. Some heroes are definitely better than others due to powercreep and other things. I think it's pretty casual. The worst thing you'll face as a new player is: 1) limited STASH space followed by immense amount of (trash) loot, and 2) not a great set of tutorials and overwhelming amount of info.

The pet and TU aren't really super valuable. I'd go with the cake for the free i80, or the STASH if you haven't gotten that already. Cake would free you the trouble of having to farm for an i80 (although it's random which one you'll get), but there are very few opportunities for a free STASH.
