It's a hassan to complete, for sure, but it's one of those things that once you really set out to do it, and get underway, it feels like an adventure with various seemingly impossible feats, and when you conquer them it feels really rewarding.
Work with one game at a time.
Also, online activity seems to have returned to the MCC so the multiplayer achievements are once again obtainable.

Save the LASO runthroughs for last. If everything else is completed, sheer strive will force you through them to completion.

I've attempted the 3 hour H2 achievement. They're asking you to basically perform roughly 30 minutes within the world record. It's fucking daunting, especially when Gravemind usually takes most people 40 minutes to an hour even if you do everything perfectly.

It takes your best time from each mission and adds them up. So no, you don't have to play the whole campaign in one sitting or even in level order.

There are a few caveats though.
1. You can't mix and match different difficulties. MCC will record your best time and score for every mission on every difficulty, but it won't combine times on different difficulties, obviously.
2. Likewise, you also can't merge co-op and solo runthrough times. You can't play Half of Halo CE on legendary solo and half co op and hope for the time achievement.

The timer will pause when you hit pause, but it will NOT reset at checkpoints after deaths or checkpoint reverts. So does H5 have the worst ranking system in any halo game?

I ask this because I'm genuinely curious. I'm an onyx/champion player and I decided to play on my friend's account, because he said that no matter how well he performed the game seemed to just keep him in platinum. I figured I would play his 10 games for him and see where he got placed. I ended up playing 11 because during one of the ten the enemy team quit out. Here are the important stats:
10/11 games won
2.17 k/d
2.87 k+a/d
My buddy placed platinum 1 in the previous season
I even went through and kept track of the division of the other players I ended up against (at the end I was exclusively facing diamond/onyx players) - 5 onyx, 16 diamond, 17 platinum, 5 gold, and 1 unranked player.

At the end, I ended up getting placed in platinum 5. I have to ask, /hg/, what is the point in this season nonsense if it seems like it has such a heavy influence over your future games. If your placement resets, shouldn't the previous placement have little impact on your new one? I think the CSR system once you break into Onyx seems solid, but it would seem that the divisions are completely pointless and extremely punishing to new players. I can post more game details as needed/the gamertag I used, but I figured I would check in with you guys. Thanks.

Yes. The game records and displays your best times for each level on each difficulty under the "campaign timing" tab, but I'm not sure if it records the time when you don't hear editing activated. So what you can do is find out your best times then write them down and look at what level you want to reduce down.

Generally speaking though, if you want to complete CE on legendary in under 3 hours total, you usually need to be able to master 3 of the 4 major skips.

95% or more of the people that left Halo after it was at its most popular (2007) did so because COD became the new normie shooter.
