Wrong, it counts while equipped.
However, the same applies for kills. As long as you have TLW equipped it doesn't matter how you get your kills.
If you want to be a truly cheap bitch, grab a HMG, get ammo, hide til all the rockets killed each other and then go ham. Optionally, follow it up with something like Stormtrance for even more kills, since streaks count more. Then switch back to something else.

Meanwhile for the rest of us that aren't sweaty lifeless shits that can train our "leet skillz" 24/7, you can try going with a class that lets you get multiple kills easily, Bladedance, Sunbreaker, Stormcaller. Camp like there's no tommorow, you don't need to get kills with TLW so equip your longest range shotgun or sniper if you're good with those. Generally if your KD is bellow 1.5, even if you're going positive you'll end up losing progression, if all else fails, just play normally and if you're about to win a match, equip TLW just before the match ends and hide somewhere until the win is announced, since every win with TLW equipped counts as 3% progression on that quest.

I respectfully disagree. With a single golden gun shot I can now kill most lemon bars. That is a massive buff whether you wanted it or not. My grenades and throwing knives are nothing more than utilities to assist in killing enemies. That purpose is hardly altered, knives still do enough damage on a headshot to kill. Trip mines are slightly weaker now, yes, however they have always been meant to prime people via laying traps in choke points. Aside from that, both trance abilities far outweigh the killing potential held by old trip mines.

there are only 2 archetypes worth using: the 4 bolt kill and the fastest charging 5 bolt kills (Long Far Gone, The Vortex) You'd be better off using a 4-bolter with the other 5-bolters since they don't charge that much faster.

There's many times where I'll hit someone dead on in the chest and it won't register the shots. The spread is definitely deceiving at the very least, combined with high AA make it unreliable in some encounters. I can't tell you how many times someone behind the person I'm shooting messes up my shot due to AA and my crosshair momentarily sticking to the person I'm not aiming at. I don't agree with the poster that they suck, but changing the AA on FR's would probably fix most peoples complaints about them. Frankly I'm happy they've been largely untouched by most nerfs.

I do like the Titan Helmet, but only the helmet, the red bubblegum stretched around the waist and biceps is vomit inducing and I seriously want to just find their art director and beat him over the head with a nerf sword.
The weapons are no fucking excuse, they saw the backlash of arts and crafts weapons when crota's end dropped, aesthetically they were the worst shit we ever got, they were literally regular weapons with hive bits super glued on top. And the sad part is they had so much real inspiration to draw from, imagine an entire set of weapons built like Sleeper Simulant, in the fashion of Warmind/7S architecture.
For fuck's sake, even Prison of Elders had its own unique weapon models, simple wiring tacked on top of existing vendor shit is such a cheap cop out that I genuinely hope its just a reward from a top tier mid-game activity, like strike exclusive drops, or something related to events in the plaguelands.
I don't want to jump the gun (pun not intended) on the "siva" weapons being raid weapons for one reason.
The raid is supposed to be something that was sealed off in the plaguelands which in itself was sealed off behind the wall, the weapon shown was an Omolon scout, which lore-wise is something that has just recently went into the production, and since story-wise we're the first ones going in there, and the plagued fallen just started seeping out through the hole in the wall, thematically it wouldn't make sense for all these brand new weapons to just be laying around in the middle of an infected warmind that's been sealed for centuries in the middle of an area that's been sealed for centuries, you know what I mean?
