Gw2 is for casuals and no casual content is out. Most players dont the only content being put out (raids) so they moved to play open world PvE elsewhere.

BnS and Tera both have something in common that Guild Wars 2 does not have - they have a constant stream of content. So does FFXIV. All three of thse generals are absolute shitholes, as are pretty much all MMO generals. But they have content. GW2 doesn't have bi-weekly content updates anymore. Raids should not be the only instanced PvE content being updated, dungeons were killed on purpose and fractals have not seen a new level since Thaumanova. The other "new" fractal levels were just recycled living story 1 dungeons chopped to pieces.
WvW is still being fixed, they're finally trying to redeem a neglected mode.
No new PvP modes without NPC's involved. Not enough builds to pick from, still a lot of traits and skills labeled as garbage.
No festivals for months, no events, mini LS events for AP hunters to grind on a daily timer for 1 champ bag.
The Zhaitan fight is still PRESS 2.
One could go on and on, anon. It's not just asura, it is charr and human, norn and sylvari, everyone is quitting and leaving. ArenaNet never wants to talk about their future plans because; 1) they do not deliver on their promises and 2) an unexpected issue might push them behind schedule. It's not about transparency, it's about knowing that ArenaNet are trying to fix the mountain of problems with the foundation of their game and people get mad when they do not see that. They're transparent but when there's nothing good going on behind the curtain people get pissed even after the "honesty." ArenaNet have always been about hyping people up and trying to get praise from the crowd. They used to add new minidungeons and dynamic events but stopped because they weren't getting enough praise and high of a reaction, so the living story came to be.

They're going to keep playing with your hopes and dreams and then what? Two more years pass by? What will you do in 2018? People are hyped about LS3 but there's only months of waiting between episodes in the future. What will LS3 bring? Yeah yeah new PvP modes and fractals yeah. This is why people quit, no more waiting and more action. ArenaNet could promise the best features in the future, doesn't mean you should wait in a game you no longer have fun in. I like the GW world, but geez.

Game is pretty much dead and it shows in the complete lack of an online community for it. This general is dead, Reddit is dead; even the main forums are pretty much dry now.

I don't even think living story could save it at this point. Maybe the next expansion could do it, but not if they implement the same grinding shit like they did for HoT while giving us 8+ dry spells with rare glimpses of content that even the casuals don't care for, such as raids.
