Okay, so...I get the whole story and the lore and everything. I'm good on all of that.

But.

How are there structures in dreams? Are they actual, physical things? How do you exist in those dreams? How do you travel to and from them?

Like, parts of the Hunter's Nightmare seem to be misremembered fragments of the real world, all jammed together, but other parts of it don't occur anywhere else in the game world. And how are there Old Ones inside of the dreams and the nightmares?

Dreams are just what we call these lands. I found its better to think of them as alternate dimensions propagated by the great ones more advanced consciousnesses. They operate on a plane above mortal man, so creating dream-scape refuges isn't too hard of an idea for these beings. As well as being able to pull mortals into them, like with the Hunters dream or the Hunters nightmare

Thanks for the help, this is the build I'm doing it's designed to be part Challange run because of the hilariously low Vit/End, but also I can use everything Arcane to its near maximum potential. DLC and Chalice's have been a nightmare since I'm getting one-shot by everything.

My build is dumb, but if you swap STR for Vit it's still really good (won't be able to use Moonlight Sword or Wheel though) and actually useable.

I'll try upload a WeBm of chalice Rom, A Call Beyond obliterates her, same with Amy, killed in about 4 casts of Execuiriors Gloves.

Bolt is more effective as a general damage type, but Oil Urns make fire better for giant single hits, and there's no source of damage to follow up with as good as ACB if you have 70ish Arcane. Even Eribritas who has high resistance melts if it hits her face.

Even on a bloodtinge build, it's usually better to upgrade your weapon before your gun.

That said, if you've nothing else to spend your materials on, go for it. You get so many shards and twin shards throughout the game that there's no real reason not to level your gun to +6.

Why the fuck do people in these threads keep saying that the Church was using Ebrietas' blood?

The Church has Blood Saints for a reason, people. All of the Old Blood that you imbibe from sources like blood vials was "farmed" from people like Adeline and Adella. That is the sole reason for their existence - to be living reservoirs of the Blood.

Furthermore, the Church was using Blood long before they ever met Ebrietas -- look at the Research Labs, and you'll see blood vials everywhere. Laurence had found tons of the stuff at the beginning of his career, and was putting it to use.

Furthermore, show me where it states that Ebrietas was being used as a blood bank, and not a teacher

Am I ready for Old Hunters DLC? My stats are pic related and I have beaten the following bosses:
Cleric Beast
Father Gascoigne
Witches of Hemwick
Blood-starved Beast
Darkbeast Paarl
Vicar Amelia
Shadows of Yharnam
Rom Vacous Spider

I have explored, defeated, and completed every nook and cranny in the game up to this point. My playtime so far is 16 hr 28 min 12 sec. This is my first playthrough, in fact my first console game ever (Don't judge I'm 16). I used to play on mobile then decided to save up after for what I found to be the best gaming platform after months of serious research. I got the game which in my opinion looked the most impressive and have no regrets! I am absolutely blown away, the game is fucking amazing!! The gameplay is so natural, the environment is incredible, the entities are so varied and interesting.

Also, I need advice where to spend my blood echoes. I haven't used my gun at all so I haven't put any I'm bloodtinge, I put only skill up to where weapons require as they benefit more from strength. So how do I dish them out between the 4 stats that are useful to me.

Take Vitality to 40-50, Endurance 20, Strength 40-50, keep Skill at 12 or 13 for the cannon, leave Bloodtinge alone, leave Arcane alone or go up to 40-50 if you don't care about staying at a lower level for pvp. If you don't plan to pvp at all, level whatever as high as you want, 50 is a good stopping point for damage stats.

I'll definitely be pumping up strength to 40 as that is my most useful stat, endurance to 20 for a round number, I'll leave skill as I don't use guns, unless cannon benefits from arcane, leave bloodtinge, I'll bump up arcane to 40 as it is useful for tools and molotovs, which complement my strength weapons. I am iffy about raising vitality above 30 as I get more sloppy when I can take more hits, I am best at dodging attacks till an opening where I give 3 big hits then back off and repeat. If I raise my stats to 30/20/40/12/5/40 that makes me level 97. Is that fine for PvP?

You definitely want at least 40 Vitality for pvp as a lot people you'll fight will be well equipped to demolish your health in a few hits. 98 is the meta here but a lot of people ignore it and go a few levels higher, and since it's your first time you'll want to go higher. Stop at most 120 as that's the common level everywhere. Cannon benefits from Bloodtinge but still hits hard at base level, its not worth leveling bloodtinge for it. Since you'll use tools you can ignore it, it's good for burst damage but eats a lot of bullets. Tools will do okay damage at 40 but they really shine above 50. You could also upgrade the Flamespayer and Rosmarinus as they scale with Arcane.

Yeah its good. Logarius' Wheel and Tonitrus really benefit from those stats. Holy Moonlight Sword and Boomhammer as well if you have the DLC. You could make Strength 50 and Arcane 43 if you want to mainly do physical damage with your weapons. With 50 Arcane it might be better to convert physical weapons to fire/bolt/arcane but those gems are harder to get than physical ones.

Where do I get Ritual Blood 5 without going into Pthumurian Defilment? I'm on Ailing Loran layer 2 at the moment.
