There's plate gauntlets and boots at level 60 (or level 50 if you can get ahold of the old soldiery gear but that's kind of annoying). The robe is also armored but it has a huge skirt (or whatever you call it, you can see it in the picture).

Sky pirate's not bad either. All of this stuff is dyable, metallic silver robes or robe-ish things might look a bit tacky but you can experiment.

The DRK turned haircut on the whole alliance, these guys self healed their way through the DoT, then proceeded to down the boss by themselves from about 15%.

They both had a net gain in health from their self healing; they could have feasibly done this from 100% to clear.
