Bastion in an unpredictable position that will move to ambush, can shred through her shield and her in no time. Reaper dropping on her right after personal shield shreds through her, a Zenyatta slapping a discord orb on her helps a lot. Pharahs and Junkrats are too reliable for gaining charge, their projectile weapons make it easy for any decent Zarya to farm for energy. True her ult can drop her but that doesn't help the overall match with dropping her once in a while. Why do 95% of Reinhardt players just not comprehend the fact that the enemy can also pass through your shield? in close is a good place to be when facing Zarya, at medium range she can keep her face melting laser on you easily. Reaper is easily the best way to kill her, just like any tank, but a pharah that can get direct hits can kill her easily without much coming back in retribution.

I get you on the Reaper thing, what I've normally encountered against him is they'll get cold feet at the last second or so, but any decent Reaper player can and will tear through her. As for Mei it depends on the charge, with enough you can force her into the ice heal and get your shield back in time to finish the job.

Also I agree with the whole 1v1 thing that is the worse spot to be in against a Zarya that has any clue what they are doing. She is a team tank, if she has a half competent team, or the enemy team is just so disorganized, there isn't a huge amount you can do.

its meant to be 5 meters longer than rein so u can win the melee duel on occasion. The damage is meant to be able to one shot squishes with dash cancels. The duration is balance around the potential for a team kill with perfect play. You could argue to nerfing it to a 6 or 7 second duration but you want him to have time to move during its duration. Forcing him to only do cancels and never be scene would be worse off for the enemy team I think. He is vunerable to long range damage during all 6 seconds and while he sheathes his blade at the end.
