It has quirks. You only get missile velocity on the Butterbee. The other Catapults have a few more 5-10% ones for missile cooldown, energy cooldown, and energy range. It's a direct upgrade to the Catapult C1.

The problem with the Catapult isn't the missile velocity or the cooldown of the LRM racks. It was always the heat dissipation. The original Catapult C1 quirks had Energy Heat Generation quirks but they removed them in favor of lobbing more missiles down range and overheating the Mech faster.

It really pisses me off that the C1 doesn't have Missile Heat Generation on it. The Energy Heat Generation quirk was acceptable.

I don't believe balance had anything to do with the rescale.

If anything the rescale should be the baseline upon which both beneficial and detrimental quirks can now be levied to achieve a balance more fundamentally appropriate, proper and visually consistent.

It will take a month or more but a new, all-encompassing and extremely invasive quirk pass just may be in store for those playing the game.

I like that the command wheel is just days away. It sounds like they have handed us a powerful tool with which to direct Lance combat in support of Company objectives... of course it will prove its worth in Units first, as they rightly look to wring every advantage possible from new game development / features.

It should make for a FUN Tuesday night of gaming!

Phoenix Hawk survivability is actually not too shabby. The main problem is that most of the weapons are in the arms and they are huge shields compared to the Blackjack's cannon turrets, so they fall off very easily and all the time. I am ending up disarmed but alive way too often in many matches.

Add some more armor or structure to the arms and it should perform a lot better.

The survivability is trash. It's about as big as the vindicator, with extra vulnerable side torso butterfly wings, with hitboxes that extend far outside the physical model.

Not having any significant limb kwirk structure means you get shredded easily. I think the most common cause of death for me so far is taking leg damage from jumping around with the ultrapowered jets, falling, getting hit by strays, then legged in a remote area.

Alright Kong, I've got an internal dilemma. I own a Muromets Cataphract. An ancient meme I haven't used since like 2013, and it's just taking up space. Dare I shoot to Master it, and buy more Cataphracts? Or sell it so the mech-bay is freed up, and buy Kong Catapult Totem mechs, and grind them out now that they're small, and cute, and plenty viable for the time being.

My legs hold out most of the time and I run with 5-6 JJs so I always have enough fuel to land with, but at least one arm usually gets destroyed before my mech goes down for good. I have only ever been killed by early torso destruction once and that was by an unlucky ambush from a classic Splatcat (was CT).

Otherwise I don't find it any less vulnerable than my other mediums, just that some variants have weak firepower. Roc has pleased me so far.

It's not new content. It's a bunch of unused adhesive assets repurposed to turn 18 robots into 30~ for the console releases, with shitty builds like dual seeker missiles (worst weapon in the game on the least durable frame in the game), and most of the old robots will now be 'legacy' robots. They'll not be available to get if you play on console, and only stone cold killer veterans will have them.

Since they're replacing broken as fuck shit like the old mega stronk shotgun scout with mini-shotgun scouts, this is kind of a big deal, while trash like the cloaking predator is getting a better, more functional cloak, but at the cost of most of its offensive power.

Assault won't exist anymore. It gets a G2 not-assault rebranding, and the CRT recruit is getting a facelift to replace it as the only robot with coolant flush.

Since the game is legit dead, and no one at E3 even knew about hawken, this will still boost numbers. The PC playerbase, while they're pretending actually matters to them, really doesn't. It's a couple hundred idiots, and the chinese tomahawk release alone will probably draw in more players on its own than the game's ever had before.

Mechs will have one weapon AND there will be G2 versions for each mech. Currently, one of three primaries is redundant on most mechs.
