I really look forward to ME:A and its focus on female lead roles, the realistic facemodels and more progressive repsect to PC content.
I really hope for interesting individuals. Maybe a Squadmate that is gay but needs help with being oppressed.
Also more focus on minorities would be welcome, I really didnt like how the main protagonist is the typical white male with every female flocking to him. Maybe a black male would be more suited in MEA, I mean its 2016 ffs.
Gameplay and storytelling are secondary anyway, I want more cinematic cutscenes and more focus on special characters. Also I hope I can choose the gender of my pro9tag this time and no, I dont mean the old male/female choices. MEA really has potential in these points.

I believe they do have antimatter, military ships use anti-proton thrusters, and considering we can create antimatter (In infinitely minuscule amounts) today I think it's not much of a stretch.
Or maybe it doesn't use ME fields for thrusts, but actually uses them to make a humongous buzzard ram jet work, and it dumps the static electricity in the fuel it leaves behind?
Or it has several different drive cores isolated from the ship with non conductive materials, when one core gets too 'full' of static electricity it is simply disconnected and left behind.

A bussard ramjet is a big theoretical engine design. Basically it's a big scoop at the front, magnetic or mechanical that gathers up hydrogen or other elements in space, it needs to be huge to gather up enough reaction mass to drive an engine. But it is theoretically able to operate without worrying about fue as long as a source of heat is availble, often a nuclear reactorl. The reaction mass gathered is then heated and expelled out of a nozzle, providing thrust.

They were very popular for awhile in Sci-fii literature during a period when many thought interstellar hydrogen was very abundant. But it has been proven that hydrogen floating free in space is much rarer than previously thought. So they're not as popular anymore.

But a sufficiently huge mass effect field might be able to suck up enough fuel to power a large engine, or at least supplement fuel stores already aboard.

Oh yeah, I liked him. He was the janitor as well I think I remember reading a great fanfic in which he cooks gumbo and Tali helped. I can't remember its name, but there were squishy trees and a dome with a market inside it. I had no idea what gumbo meant in Swedish but the interactions of the crew and squad felt so natural. I really wish we had more side character interaction in the games, not just squaddies talking with squaddies but some crew too. Zaeed and one of the marines trading stories. One of the navigators debating philosophy with Samara. Two guys in the cargo bay making small talk. Just some more development of the crew.

It just irks me that most of the normandys crew felt like hollow puppets, most of those you interact with are your squad and joker/edi and the engineers. I felt as though the whole comrades in arms family type of deal should have applied to all crew on the ship, not just the squad.

That's pretty obvious though. The whole reaper thing was there because there were always going to be races who would grow to be advanced enough to create synthetics, cycle after cycle.

Therefore Destroy is the only logical choice because it rejects the nonsense Reaper logic while also removing the Reaper threat. Oontrol would also be viable if you trust giving Shepard that much power, but Synthesis is both space magic bullshit and a total non-solution to a made-up problem

It also broke all records when it comes to retconning your own lore, had shit combat that removed the last traces of strategy which DA:O was build on and had the most lifeless and boring open world.

At least the environments were pretty and the music was reasonably good (except for the cringeworthy musical moment midgame), so there was that. And Cassandra and Vivienne were probably the best written new Bioware compantions since ME2 (not that that's saying much)

Also the open world wasn't just empty, it was useless. Most of the zones aren't even visited as part of the main quest, they're only there to do some MMO-busywork to collect enough powerpoints so you can actually unlock the next main-story mission. Beyond retarded design.

There are many things to complain about, but the total derailing of the mass effect story is what ruined it for me.

They should have just left the reapers be an unanswerd question.
Throughout the series we are thought that mere mortals are unable to grasp their purpose and then they just throw it out the window. They should have left them as a lovecraftian enigma that may never be truly understood if they couldn't come up with anything clever.

In fact, many times, letting the unknown stay that way is a clever decision story wise. Leaves you with questions and the possible need to read/play it again.

Indeed. Explaining too much removes the mystery of things, the reapers should have remained an incomprehensible threat. With motivations that are unknown, they should be patient and aloof. Not afraid to wait out shepard's life instead of boasting to him like harbinger. More like sovereign, short discussion with beings so far beneath him.
I think ME3 should have been about preventing the reapers from entering the galaxy, not dealing with them once they're there. The reapers arriving should have been more clinical, like a surgeon cutting out cancer. No reapers actually landing and zapping things. More like thousands of hyper accelerated chunks of iron out of nowhere slamming into worlds from all angles simultaneously. Pounding them into cratered mudscapes, with biomass and metals all handily dispersed into a bizarre primordial swamp. In a few cycles new life would develop and might find some old hinge or a bit of heatshield. But nothing bigger than a man's finger.

Then the few survivors are rounded up and integrated into whatever the reapers choose.
No amount of heroism could save the galaxy from that, and in ME2/1 the reapers are hyped up just like these unassailable destroyers of worlds. That's how they should have remained. What we should have fought would be the creations of reapers, as they try to stop whatever space magic emitter that the galaxy uses to stop the reapers from entering the galaxy.

That dialogue was terrible and a mistake. For a trully unfathomable horror, Sovereign should have just watched Shepard, said nothing and then cut off the feed. Having Sovereign even acknowledge Shepard, at his level of existence, is like talking to a cockroach.
