There was a few forum purges since then and the search function never worked properly since BWEs. It's a farce, especially since every few months there's a post implying they are actually trying to fix it.

Kinda sorta. Whales sustain it financially. Actual developer-generated game content is sparce. There are things to do if you've never experienced the expansion, but a lot of it is timegated grind in ded pve zones and the rest runs dry pretty quickly. The only praise I can give is how their raids are re actually not tedious slogfests that last 6 hours. Gear grind is also not bad, but gear stats are bloated paired with stupid damage/health figures, although that's another issue.

From what I remember, it has the highest number of PoIs at 43ish. Plus, it's one of the longest in terms of north-south. For a lot of people, the Ascalon maps are the most boring, because there isn't as much variation as in the other regions. You might enjoy Harathi (2 maps north of Lion's Arch). It's very condensed and almost square.

I usually play chrono but with that tier 1 legendary armour stuff I was thinking of using it to gear up a necro. So I've been going through various guides, the metabattle one, a [qT] one and an [EG] one. But no matter what gear and trait setup I try in gw2skills none of them reach 100% duration.

1. The core game
You can pop in some relaxing music and just leave a city and explore the old places with gliding now as a travel option. Do the old jumping puzzles as you stumble upon them and try shitty but fun builds along the way. Like a total disconnect from the meta game and play as you want, where you want, with whoever you find along the way. By the time you're done a decent amount of time has passed and you can logout and keep going in some other zone the next day. There are mini dungeons out there, jumping puzzles, and a bunch of dynamic events to do with strangers who are leveling the normal way.
2. WvW
It has seen better days but you can just hop in with a tweaked meta build or something you made up and put time into and roam. You can get with some buddies and sneak in a tower and a couple of camps. You could join a WvW guild and take WvW seriously in EB.
3. Raiding, fractals
New fractals are rumored to come and ascended gear drops from fractal daily chests. Building up several characters for high T4 fractals and raids isn't a bad investment, especially when you're in a guild that does them multiple times a week. The new fractal wing is fun as fuck.
4. Personal story
Every race has multiple good branches of personal story and the new HoT story has some neat rewards, not all of it is good storywise. It's still worth making characters of different races to experience them.
5. Guild missions,guild groups in rPvP, and guilds overall
Once you're in a guild you like this all means a lot. A guild of buddies or a guild with a purpose that you can run with and do the above and more with will add in hours to your play time.
I'm done shillin' tell me how I did.This is seriously why I play tho but the thing is I don't rush through it and I don't burn myself trying to make the most money.

There's many defined group roles in gw2 group pve content, especially in raids and to an extent high tier fractals.
For example if you're a mesmer your role is support (boon sharing and various utilities) rather than damage. Rev is support and damage. Ele is damage and occasionally healing, druid is healing.

a makeover kit is a good option for sylvari! Take ur time to decide on a colour scheme as the cultural armoru can be affected by your base skin colour in some areas.
