I've seen it on /v/ a couple of times, mentioned in passing. It's pretty recent and unique, albeit with a somewhat obtuse learning curve in the very beginning (the dev straight up tells you to read the manual, as there's no tutorial). Once you learn the rules, though, it's engaging and fun.

Shotgun Ninja is another good game by him. Ad Nauseum 2, Burn the Trash, and Protoganda: Strings are nice little, experimental SHMUPs (well, some aren't exactly little, as they can take awhile to beat - but they have a minimalist presentation to them).

It's kind of hard to tell, since a lot of the time the people Brad or Buddy were beating up were minding their own business, but as Joyful showed, even people who were living peacefully (like the village from area 1 with the band) will quickly reveal their true colors if given the opportunity.

In Painful, you got the the Bloodtree guys, the construction folk, the guys from Mad Dog's town, who are seemingly just guys not bothering anyone. But if Buddy showed up with no mask, who's to say the people who seemed like friendly folk wouldn't turn very bad very fast?

I think it's best to be left to be ambiguous. Even though the game makes it clear that the vast majority of men would attack Buddy, no one ever directly state their intent to do so, and it's left ambiguous with a lot of Buddy's victims.

The first human enemy Brad fights says "I want that bitch to myself," Rage says "I wanted her since the beginning," Jack says "I have to know what it's like," and Vega thinks she's a gift for him. No one outright says that they want to fuck her, and it's possible some of various people Buddy fights might have only been acting in self-defense since they will still fight you while wearing a mask, and even without a mask, men like Lardy were more bewildered when meeting Buddy than sexually aggressive. It's impossible to know how guys like this might have reacted if Buddy came to them peacefully, but the reactions of the villagers doesn't give make one expect a positive outcome.

Rando said that not everyone Buddy killed deserved death, but maybe that applies to more than just the Pacifists.

LISA has a shitton of replay value because of the party members, has good writing and great music, and is one of the few turn based games that's actually challenging, mainly because there are like three places you can grind and two are absurdly inefficient. Painful and Joyful together are like 8 hours long so it's not too time intensive either.
