Gotthards Twinswords.

Similar reason, I love the look and the variety in the moveset. They're really strong weapons overall but being able to switch up between 1 sword and 2 sword attacks and having a powerful unparriable weapon skill is so good.

Everyone gets mad though because the rolling L1 is insane, but it has such a wide variety of useful moves aside from that. Good players will use everything.

Nah, Bloodborne is lazy, ill thought out, and way too confined. The combat in Bloodborne and Dark Souls should never really be compared, even in the case of the much quicker Dark Souls 3, because each game has completely different combat objectives. Bloodborne's PvP is a piece of shit too. Also, Alfred, Eileen, and Djura are terrible and their sidequests are painfully small. Orbeck, Greirat, Anri, Horace, and Yuria handily trump all three of them.

I'm with you on boss design though, because you're right, Dark Souls 3 really does it much better.

I'd post the one I was using for the first half of my NG+ run, but I'm currently maining a MLGS build and experimenting with other shit in PvP.

Pretty much just make sure to have a lot of stamina. I played it in a way which focused on mostly using spells to heal rather than estus (in PvE at least), meaning I had low FP, many Ashen Estus and a shitload of stamina to cast my stuff/swing my sword.

Was also overkilling it with 60FTH.

Only get BB if you are willing to get the DLC, it's amazing how the game changes quality so fast with it. PvP is better but demands grinding because sone retard thought chalice dungeons were a good idea. Game itself is about as linear as 3 (single route, no alternate paths except for a bonus ending) but it's amount of optional areas more than makes up for it. Their quality is all over the place as usual, but you don't have any extremely awful ones. More shit bosses than 3 but very good ones too.

Bloodborne's weapon selection is more meaningful. There are more weapons in DaS3, but it would be hard to say there are better weapons.

The problem with Bloodborne vs. DaS3 is that there are more weapons readily available from the start. You can more readily begin a run with different weapons. In a weird way, Bloodborne is held back by the fact it didn't commit to being an Action game and suffers from some of the RPG elements it inherited from the Souls games. Bloodborne would have been massively improved if it went full Action and included some things like collecting weapons unlocking them permanently across new characters.

It depends on what you mean by "amounting to something." If an area is mostly irrelevant to the storyline and optional but one of the best parts of the game, I don't think it amounts to nothing.

Beyond Cainhurst and early hidden village, which are two of the best areas in the game, you've got upper cathedral ward and Old Yarnham which are totally optional and amazing.

The only optional area that feels like a total wash to me is Nightmare Frontier, because fuck that place.
