You play midrange decks. Midrange Hunter and Catoon Druid are both favored. By favored I mean just that, favored, don't expect free wins. Control Warrior is the third most cancerous deck right after Freeze Mage (not because it's strong but just because it's cancerous in its very essence) and face shaman.

I know that Midrange Hunter is a good counter, but like you say it's not a free win and there are many other decks that piss on Hunter as a free win.

So it seems like we have a perfect storm happening here. Control Warrior has hard counter decks, but you can't play those hard counter decks because Control Warrior is being played heavily as a response to Shaman and Zoo which are bad match ups for Control Warrior's hard counters.

So it's an infinite cycle of fedora tipping where nobody other than the Control Warrior really comes out on top.

Nah, you can create a healthy meta where every class has at least one competitive deck. Some decks will, of course, be better but they wouldn't be unbeatable and have counters.The problem comes when there's a deck that's too good like shaman right now, secret paladin before standard or any other cancer deck that existed in the past.

It's up to yourself to consider a deck/class/archetype fun. Shaman IMO is fun, I was one of those hipsters who played the class despite being shit. On the other hand the anti-fun faggots of the light are buried in deep shit and seems like uther will remain there for at least a couple of months. So no I'm not gonna tell you that.

So I'm fairly new to the game. It seems to me that I'm really feeling the lack of a decent set of Classic cards to round out my decks into something consistently more effective than a lot of the recommended "Basic" Decks that are out there.

Let's suppose I decided to throw some money at the game. Would the most effective bang for my buck be a bunch of Classic boosters here, or is there a better option?

Well, I'd say that Doomcaller is at least better than Boulderfist I'd say. Anyway it's not needed in Druid, You're a midrange deck, who cares about fatigue. If you want a big drop beside C'thun, Twin Emps, Arakkoas and Sylvanas you can try Ragnaros.

Depends on how much you wanna spend and what cards you have already. I always suggest buying LoE if you have the $$$ since it's an excellent deal, 45 cards for $20 with Discover tutor cards that can help fill in whatever a deck lacks on the fly.

Next best thing would be to buy Classic packs since they're permanent /evergreen and have a lot of good, strong cards still used in the top decks. $40 will get you 50 packs (using Amazon Coins for the discount), 1-2 Legendary cards and plenty of dust from duplicates to craft shit you're missing.

Whenever you have 700 gold go unlock Blackrock Mountain wing 1 for Emperor Thaurissan. The mana reduction is top notch, works in any deck and helps you play combos and heavy hitters early.

Keep doing your daily quests and try to do class quests via Tavern Brawl whenever its a gimmick week that doesn't rely on a strong card collection. You can generate around 400-500 gold a week from quests alone, with another 50g a day if you win 15 matches (maybe use a rush deck/aggro deck for fast 5 minute matches.

With 700g a week from quests and wins you can invest in the new expansions packs, or 1 adventure wing or save for 5 weeks and have enough to buy the next expansion in August or whatever.

TLDR buy Classic and LoE when you can. Do daily quests to buy the new Old God packs. If you find yourself putting a lot of hours into the game it's a worthwhile investment.

So I have Deathwing, Dragonlord, all of BrM, N'Zoth, Justicar and most of the Dragons - Chillmaw, Ysera, Deathwing 1.0, Alex, Malygos. What class (besides Warrior) would make for a good Deathrattle Dragon deck? Priest, maybe? Paladin? Mage?

İ wanna play a deck that includes both Dragonlord and N'Zoth. Doesn't have to be Tier 1, just something viable and fun.

If someone were only missing Geddon from this list, would you still recommend playing it?

It's too slow. Museum curator can take out a Zoo token or damage a minion for Wild Pyro to finish turn 3, and it helps curve out. Turn 6 wants to Cabal whatever he played into an empty board. There's not much room in this deck for Sylvanas in this meta.

I'm a university student, and when I'm not at school, I come home and work as a tour guide in a local cave. It's an amazing job: I get a good work out, meet loads of people, get to see all kinds of mind blowing formations, and spend all day underground in a really fascinating place. 90% of the time everybody on my tours are great and we all have a good time down there.
Not yesterday though. Yesterday I had a pretty small tour for my last tour of the day. There were three families and about 13 people on it. We met outside of the cave and I talked about it for a bit and introduced myself and everything was pleasant. Then we went inside.
When I started talking about the actual science of the place, things got bad. First I said the age of the cave was 20-30 million years old, and a guy from my group interrupted me to say "Umm no, not if creation is true and god put this here." And I, being somewhat bad at conflict and hating confrontation or awkward situations, just stopped for a few seconds and told him that I'm not trying to change his beliefs but that my job is to go by the book and tell everybody the science and history behind the place from that. He scoffed a little bit. I thought that would be the end of it. I picked back up and showed the different formation types and then started the walk to the end of the first half.
At our biggest formation (an enormous slab of flowstone) I said the size of it was ~85 feet in height and about 6 feet thick. Then I said that on average, cave formations grow at the rate of one cubic inch every 100 years. And I get "that's not possible. This would have to have started growing before the world was even created."
From that point he just kind of scoffed every time I mentioned anything and made comments to his wife about how I'm not telling the truth.

This meta solidfied and just stood still + we had the longest wait for an expansion yet.

Imagine starting the game with 15 health. That's what playing against Combo Druid was.

Now imagine a Tempo deck that can fit Divine Shield, a weapon, a Deathrattle, token generation and AoE insurance into its curve, while also boasting buffs, board clear, and the ability to play up to 5 Mana's worth of spells for free instantly. That's Secret Paladin.

Now imagine playing either of those decks, from a probability standpoint, once in every 5 games.

If you really want to play some form of control deck, C'thun would be your cheapest option. I crafted Vek'lor and the rares for my C'thun Druid and came in at around 2200 dust (2 Klaxxi, 1 Disciple, 1 Doomcaller for Reno matchups, and a few commons because pack RNG). Brann is nice but not particularly necessary, and you've got more than a few options for late-game, healing and board clear within the class. Epics like Crazed Worshipper are moreso techs than anything, and you can adjust your mid-game quite flexibly to find where you shine.

They had this problem before as well, their newest earliest board clear is turn 2 with that one turn Auchenai spell + Circle.
Thing is, that spell is garbage and you might as well run Auchenai. So the earliest board clear, at the cost of two cards, is Auchenai + circle, which is absolute garbage now that the meta is hyper aggressive.
