You need both, crossbow+manamana for general usage, 2h bow for flying monsters.
For crossbows get Isbality and a S.Kracked Shooter and upgrade those for now, if you ever happen to get rich as fuck there is also Bandit. For 2h bow the S.Wreech Bow is the best you are going to get, don't fall for memes like the Maga Bow, it's actually worse than Superior Wreech.

Pelt2 Rodelero2 is a build that came about on kToS when there was an exploit to have 0 cooldown Rodolero skills.
That doesn't exist anymore, but the build is still a "tanky" build since Fencer will dodge most physical attacks and Slithering from Rodelero will allow you to eat magic damage occasionally.
It's also decent for PvP because Rodelero is good in 1v1 PvP due to all their CC.

Barb3 is the main damage Fencer build.

Highlander3 is a gimmick build that relies on switching to a two-handed sword and proccing Crossguard stagger to increase your pierce damage for Lunge/Sept.

CorsairFencer is alright. It mainly relies on the damage nullification effect of Jolly Roger, but you either lose out on a circle of Corsair or Fencer, which is bad.

ranger is for steady aim and barrage (for barrage + feint) , got scout for minigame purposes, the rogue2 part is basically for crits and lachry, sneak hit 10 gives you a 80% chance of crit if you atack from the back, feint for barrage + feint combo (barrage hit twice against a feinted enemy) and also to hit people in the minigame since it reduces 100% accuracy at lvl 10 , capture is one of those 1 point wonders, you could put more points if you want to do that thing about 2 rogues satcking capture though, lachry for silence and backstab for...reasons
in the musketeer side theres basically 3 good skills, a decent one and 2 bad ones, so thats pretty straightforward, and its pretty fun sniping while stealth!

A2 R1 Scout Rogue2 Cannoneer here.

Lachrymator is amazing for PVP. It's the bane of diversby, and helps with a lot of other classes. However, some smart players can use it to bug out their skills cooldowns (Lolipan does this to me in duels and it wrecks my shit.) Plan on getting the bigger cloud attribute, which increases the cooldown a lot but you'll rarely get two off in the span of a single fight anyway. I eventually redid my build to remove a few levels of Sneak Hit and pump Lachry instead because it was even better than I expected.

Backstab is only useful in PVP when you have a rooted target. I will throw it out if I think it has a chance at landing and I'm "safely" stealthed but I never expect it to. It's almost never going to hit anyone moving. The good news is if you miss you don't de-stealth so if you don't think you'll get a chance to use it, and you have karacha, throw it out there. Worst case scenario you get a short cooldown, best case you buttstab some fool.

If I could do it all over again, I'd probably drop Rogue 2 and pick up QS1 or Hunter 1, I guess, for a full PVP focus. On the other hand, backstabbing bosses absolutely shits damage, so maybe not. I wouldn't say I regret Rogue 2, just that there might be better choices. If you're considering rogue/cannon don't go Archer 3, because you won't use multishot at all past 200 or so.

You'll use Steady Aim less than you think but it's really nice when you can set up. Don't base your Rogue 2 pick around Sneak Hit, that's silly. Sneak Hit 5 is very good. Feint/Barrage is fine, not incredible but fine. Don't plan on landing Feint in PVP, you can throw it out while stealthed and lose nothing if it misses (and don't destealth if it hits!) but it's really tough to aim when people are running around wildly and you're at 5 FPS. Discussed Lachry/Backstab above.

There's a lot of theories about weapon swapping - I've heard it's ping related or that clearing out your inventory makes it shorter/faster. Personally I can't test the former and didn't notice any difference in the latter.

When I die to bosses, it isn't from the weaponswap lag. It's usually because I got too fucking greedy. You'll usually open with Cannon Blast in hopes of proccing the defense break, then drop your backstabs, feint and barrage. Drop flare shot ahead of time if you think the boss will stand still for a bit. By the time your long ass barrage spam animation is over the boss has likely either moved or turned around to target you (this is a very real problem with this build, you have to constantly circle bosses usually because you're at the top of the aggro chart unless you have a swordsman determined to keep it from you) so you do whatever repositioning you gotta do and repeat. Backstab's cooldown is quite short. On rare occasions I'll either eat shit because I'm garbage and have to back off and play it safe a bit through a potion cooldown - this is the only time I use Multishot any more, really.

That was a lot longer and bloggier than I intended. No, weapon swapping won't kill you. It's more of a problem in PVP than it is for bosses.

Anything that involves QS3 or Ranger1+Rogue1, and one of the R7 classes will be quite playable. It's common to take A2, QS3, R1 as early circles, end in an R7 class of your choice, and take Scout, Rogue or Falconer along the way. Alternatively, if world bossing is your one and only concern, Fletcher 3 is king. As long as you stick to those guidelines you won't end up with anything unplayable. Avoid SR.

I actually haven't played Scout 3 but I've heard really good things about it. I think you're probably fine, though you're going to need to get your damage from gear and attributes with that build. If you're really enjoying Scout 3, keep at it. R7 is a tough call on that. Falconer would let you spread your Multishot 15 and help your party a lot but you miss out on the massive damage skills in Musketeer and Cannoneer. If your rotation is pretty tight, take Cannon, I guess. If not, take Musketeer.

That's kinda eh. QS3 is not bad in any case. The ability to run at full speed while attacking is massive no matter what. It's true that running shot falls off a lot after about 180 or so in PVE, but the mobility is still incredible, and it's a lazy, fun, laid-back style of play. It also is really, really nice for farming, which is quite important.

The thing to keep in mind is that A1 QS3 is your first 4 circles, and you really can't compare that to like... say, Rogue2's backstabs, or cannon blast, or whatever. It's early circles. You get Running Shot while while not incredible lategame is better than most other things you could get in those early circles.

I don't play my QS3 any more, instead I play a ranger 1 rogue now, but I think I'd still go QS3 if I wasn't going Rogue. The synergy between Ranger/Rogue with steady aim/capture and barrage/feint is great, but without both, eh. QS3 is nice, Running Shot just stops being the focus of your build by R7. It goes from carrying you singlehandedly to being a nice option and good filler.
