Well having spent a day messing with factories.. yeah, it's not really feasible at the moment.

There is no easy way to dump items. No way to hook it up to your settlement network items. Not all containers work for item collection.

It's core is there and works but it's just cut off from the rest of the game.

Because there is a way to connect this game to manufacturing teddy bears in any reasonable way.
It would completly break the game balance if it was actually useful.

With a few mods this can be factorio 3d thats actually good.

Could you walk through a bit of the configuration you have here? For e.g. an ammo plant, it doesn't seem like there is any benefit to putting components in a container -> vacuum conveyor -> manufacturer, when you could just add them to the manufacturer to begin with. An ammo plant wouldn't even be able to share with e.g. a weapon plant, so you would still need to manually move all of the components over anyway, right?

I edited that synth Nora mod. Actually all you need to do is open it in CK, find her tab, go to template, set it to none, and unclick traits box.

Only do this if you seriously fucked your Nora's face in the beginning. Thankfully I didn't really screw up my Nora that much.

ship exterior 3.png

Did some more work on the cruise ship, just trying to get a rough feel for the layout of the ship. I plan on building it and the rooms entirely on one map and then copy pasting it into new cells to maintain internal consistency so I don't end up with impossible spaces unless totally necessary. Also means I can snip pieces of the exterior out to stick in separate cells if you're inside and can see outside to the rest of the ship, will be really handy for the high-end hotel suite area since the tower will overlooks the entire bow of the ship.

I want to do a V.A.T.S build, no companions, no crafting only scavenging, lots of luck so I can win through PURE SKILL and I'll be doing this on survival.

I know I want 9 Luck and 6 Agi (Can get to Ninja with Bobblehead) but that's about as far as I've got. Help me out, m80s.
>>
>>145646537
Mostly, the idea is that you come across a stranded derelict cruise ship after picking up an SOS signal, and you get 'convinced' by the ship's AI to help it get the main reactors back up. get the ship's nuclear engines back up and running, and get it unstranded so it can continue its directive.

And only some of the areas facing the outside of the ship around the midship area are actually part of the exterior cell, you won't have the entire map on one cell because that would kill the engine.

Although technically many areas will be exterior cells of their own since the lighting actually makes it feasible for once. this map is basically the master file for the exterior so I can snip and paste any exterior parts that should be visible from interior cells into those maps when needed

You'll have to use your imagination for that. I don't think there really is a story.

If the Institute made a synth of your wife, I can only think they're trying to make amends to you, but they don't realize that it could potentially be awkward if you've already romanced someone else. Or if you're enemies to them, they'd use her to try to get you to join them maybe.

Over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.

Does this mean that the teleporter is not perfect, and caused this anomaly to appear in the Material Realm of the universe?

If you check their inventory they're setup to wear clothes plus armor pieces. Armor pieces have better stats so they wear those instead. There's a mod that gives armor slots to normal clothes or you could open up the geck and force those guards to wear road leathers or raider leathers or something like that.

Not that guy, I don't have any idea what that means.
In skyrim if you used a body mod you had use clothing and armor mods fitted for the body you were using, or you would get clipping in some cases or have the body replaced by the clothing in others. That's why there body specific conversions of all the vanilla equipment and body specific versions of so many equipment mods. He's presumably asking if that's still the case and I would like to know as well.

seems to be a combination of loyalty to their own kind and mob behavior; when one picks a fight, the rest feel obliged to back them up

the smart or independent ones either go their own way, or take over the group. lone supermutants probably don't survive very long unless they're really lucky or capable. supermutant leaders still need to back up their feral 'brothers' if they hope to rely on safety in numbers.

It doesn't add up, I don't think. In all those years after all those generations of super mutants, they've persisted with their kill loot return hunter gatherer society bullshit, getting slaughtered by the towns they camp near and blowing themselves up, with none of them thinking of settling, farming and trading, like nearly every single other kind of super mutant?

Most examples of super mutants being frenzied killtards is when they're being lead, or when they're turbo retards. In the turboretards case, even they went on to not be generic cannon fodder enemies, having their own wants and goals. Fallout 3 is again an exception, but again, there were more stray friendlies than in 4's case. Plus, Fallout 3's ones were made randomly, where as 4's were designed by the institute.

if they fuck up, the leader does not have to worry about looking after them. if they return, they bring 'loot', which helps the group survive. then they can get sent out again.

they're highly aggressive, consider themselves superior to humans and they are physically superior to humans in most cases. they probably consider human settlements to be like cattle in a pen, a resource to be exploited, not negotiated with.

most of the settled supermutants in previous games were incredibly old by human standards. I have no idea how old the Boston mutants are, but I suspect that they're nowhere near as mature as those found somewhere like Jacobstown, in NV.

or just blame shitty writing

If the super mutant leaders are smarter, why don't they see the advantage in not basically living like raiders?

Supermutants are more suited to living like raiders than humans are. In addition to enhanced physical prowess, they have a resistance to some of the dangers of the wasteland and seem to have few issues with surviving on a high-protein diet.

Many humans become raiders and do quite well at surviving at the expense of other humans. Raiding works. It has proven effectiveness.

Supermutants are physically superior to humans, so they make even better raiders than humans do. Playing to your strengths is the key to success in many endeavors.
>>

capital problem with all raiders

desu wish raiders was replaced with 'wastelanders', that could be either hostile or friendly. you could still have raiders, but you could also have a 'raider' group that you could come across doing cool shit without shooting on sight.

Beth's overall stories are shit but there are always dozens of mini stories within the gameworld that are quirky and interesting.

In a game universe, sure. In something approximating real life, the raider:settler ratio would be unsustainable. Eventually the raiders would take/destroy everything the settlers have, or the settlers would die out to natural hazards of the wasteland, and then the raiders waste away. That's not even mentioning the Gunners (who would probably be a bit more long-term-view about it), super mutants, ghouls, etc.

The super mutant wolf tamer in Far Harbor is an institute mutie as far as I know
>>
>>145667071
Sure, that makes sense, except, as I said, this isn't the case for most super mutants. Most super mutants end up forgoing the fight for survival raiding life style, and benefit more from it. This could probably be because while humans fight amongst each other, all humans fight super mutants, and being the 'big scary green menace' of the wasteland is a good and proven way to go extinct in the wasteland. To this point, I would say raiding is probably harder for super mutants. They have a lot more enemies and less numbers, logically.

According to some quick wiki diving, super mutants were created by the institute in 2178, and a horde attacked diamond city in 2180, but were repelled by the minutemen. So it's safe to say super mutants have been raiding in the commonwealth for about a hundred years. That's plenty of time to get beaten down enough to learn that the raiding life style isn't as effective as you'd think - case in point, many huge settlements operate fortified and undamaged by super mutant attacks which are encamped right next to them.

It's okay if you want your super mutants to be mindless cannon fodder for the enemy, but I think they could come up with a better explanation than "institute created them and dumped em and now they multiplied into hundreds of thousands". give them a way to create more super mutants so they have a purpose or something. the way they're written in just makes no sense.
>>
>>145667604
Super mutants are infertile
>>
>>145667847
I meant give them the ability to create more super mutants. Fo1 super mutants had the master, Fo2 super mutants were created by random and Fo3 super mutants had their own vats of FEV to drag wasteland captives to. At the very least, it gives them all a primal drive in the wasteland: to make more super mutants. Fo4 doesn't have this so it's weird knowing they're essentially meant to be an endangered species in the commonwealth.
>>
>>145667847
Which is only an even better motivation for them to stop being targets. They can only reproduce by kidnapping people and dipping them in whatever supply of FEV they have (if they have access to any.)

They literally could have been better boogeymen than the Institute to that effect - Nightkin sneaking into settlements to kidnap people in the night, and forcibly dipping them.
>>
>>145668098
Would have been a cool angle to go with t b h. I wish Beth would do more with super mutants, since they have enough generic enemies. I've always wanted them to go full tribal, almost ork style with them, if for no other reason than I'm getting tired of NO MORE GAMES, TIME TO DIE
>>
>>145667435
>the game straight up tells you that any mutants that get "smart" start to exhibit "weak" behaviors and are killed by other mutants.

and then you have mutants like Fist that set up a honeypot to lure in food in addition to directing scouting parties outside of the city.

was Fist killing smart mutants because they were weak, or because he did not want competition?

>In something approximating real life, the raider:settler ratio would be unsustainable.

supermutants don't just rely on the fruits of humans labors, they eat humans. even if they were to hunt humans to extinction, they would merely be removing competition for other resources from the environment.

raiding used to be a popular pastime for many civilized human cultures. some cultures today still practice banditry and piracy. it is a part of human nature. long term self-interest be damned.

>>
>>145667972
>>145668098
You guys are treating super mutants like they have evolved through natural selection, giving them reproduction/survival is their primary instinct.

It strikes me that they're just hyper aggressive and physically competitive, and while this may not make the most sense in terms of survival, their genetic make up is due to FEV, not evolution. There is not reason for them to exhibit traits that would ensure their survival above all before undergoing an incredibly long period of natural selection.
>>
>>145668258
Strong almost implies such a thing but obviously Beth went nowhere with it
He talks about Super Mutants not having personal belongings and sharing all loot, and describes their relationship like "All Super Mutants one. Against all others."
>>
>>145668469
But other super mutants didn't need to go through a process of natural selection. We have a proven record of multiple super mutant races ceasing overtly aggressive raider ways and mostly keeping to themselves. It's not even like those super mutants were alive too much longer than the institute muties, either.

To make things worse, these super mutants created by the institute, with intent to create workers. When super mutants that were created by pure chance manage to get it together better than genetically engineered mutants designed to cooperate with humans, you've gone terribly wrong in the writing department.
>>
>>145668726

The fact mutants behave different depending on how they're created is kind of my point. Fallout 1's mutants were organized and somewhat intelligent, for the most part. They were specifically created by someone who had a design in mind. They were dumber than humans by a long shot, but radiation free humans would apparently bridge that gap.

Fallout 2's mutants were created by chance, and as such, were severely less intelligent. Through the course of the game they never really evolved much as far as social stuff goes, but in New Vegas we see them, along with Fallout 1 mutants, keeping to themselves in out of the way settlements. Even the craziest ones at that point didn't raid mindlessly.

Fallout 3's super mutants were again, created by chance and maintined by super mutants dipping humans in FEV. These are dumb as dog shit but still manage to have a few outlying smarties.

So we arrive at Fallout 4's mutants, that like the master's, were created by a society of scientists infinitely more advanced and equipped than the master. Sure, after all this discussion, I will heed that this explanation CAN make sense - if you hinge it all on the fact that the institute is hugely incompetent to the point that after a hundred years, all they managed to do was make the super mutant design marginally worse than a mutated freak in a basement did almost a hundred years prior.
>>
>>145668726
the mutants at Jacobstown stopped raiding out of necessity, not a desire for progress.

they were largely old, weak, suffering the effects of dementia and experienced enough to realize the odds were against them. their leadership pulled them away from human civilization so that they could die in peace and relative comfort.

they have no culture to pass on, no legacy, no offspring. Jacobstown was not a mark of progress. Jacobstown was a mausoleum, an elephants graveyard.

But they did
I'm not even sure how this can be a question when you look at Virgil's lab and Swan.

Not to mention the fucked up synths, whom they engineer not just in body, but they have direct access to their brains. If they can fuck that up, obviously they can fuck up the behavior of creature who's behavior they can only access genetically.

>>145669524
Jacobstown super mutants never raided. Marucs started that place and while groups split off and would go on to be hostile, they didn't split off to become aggressive raiders, again mostly keeping to themself.

>>145669589
I'm not sure how it isn't a question. What do you mean "fucked up synths"? yeah, the concept of synths is fucked up and the fact they've clearly programmed free will is obviously a mistake, but they're made with extreme competency. They're fucking 1:1 bioroboclones of humans. I don't see how that doesn't show an extreme competency in what they do.
>>
>>145669817
But they clearly aren't made with "extreme competency" if the synths don't do what they want synths to do.

If they made them with extreme competency, they would have no desire to rebel
>>
>>145669930
Imagine the havoc a couple of rogue coursers could do to the 'tute. Those things already have the keys to the kingdom too.
>>
>>145669817
It's not a question because if you look at Swann's story, they tried to make him into one thing, and what they ended up with was a monster.

So the idea that that's implausible is belied by the fact that, in Swann's case, they explicitly made this error.
>>
>>145669930
This isn't a black or white, success or failure situation. They accidentally programmed free will, but they also, again, created 1:1 bioroboclones of humans. They have an extremely strong synth workforce, and it doesn't imply that THAT many institute synths are escaping. If their godly copies of humanity sometimes run away, I don't think that's "incompetence" at building godly copies of humanity.

We're arguing over semantics at this point. No matter how you look at it, the institute science guys are good at, well, science. Not only that, they're good at Fallout's brand of "Science!". It doesn't make sense that they somehow perform blunder after blunder after blunder on super mutants, creating an ever expansive and unending blight on the wasteland.
>>
>>145669367
Wasn't there something in some logs that the process of turning into a super mutant the institute used caused seizures and brain damage? The reason why Virgil even is as he is when you meet him in game can easily be explained by the fact that he was the institutes head scientist for FEV related things.
>>
>>145670193
Well, as Kellog (I think it was him) lets you know, while synths are made to pass for humans, coursers are not made for this purpose

>>145670245
But they weren't trying to create 1:1 humans. If they were, they wouldn't deny synth's free will. Why would they deny that if creating that were their goal? It wasn't, yet that is what they created
>>
>>145670220
I don't think you understand where I'm coming from. I'm saying that doesn't make sense. Swan, the horde of super mutants, anything. That's a bit of a logic loop.

"Institute being bad at making super mutants makes sense, because in the game the institute is bad at making super mutants."
>>
>>145669817
>Jacobstown super mutants never raided

they were created by the Master. they raided plenty.

then they got old, succumbed to nihilism and founded Jacobstown so that they could fade away in private
>>
>>145670404
What gives you the impression that the institute is flawless at it's experiments?

As far as I can tell, the only thing they got right was teleportation.
>>
>>145670368
There is some conflicting information on coursers. Virgil tells you that they're made as such where as whats-his-name at synth retention says that they're chosen from synths and trained.
>>
>>145670432
Oh, well, obviously, but as I've kind of explained above, super mutants have historically tried raiding and being aggressive for a short time, but often subside quickly into living out of the way existences.

>>145670368
>>145670503

The purpose of a synth is to work for the institute, and Gen 1 was their first stab at that. A worker bot. Gen 2's were a step to being able to use their worker bots to interact with people, so a move was made towards making them life like. Gen 3's are a result of that.

So, as far as I'm aware, there's three generations of robots that successfully fulfill their duties, with a hiccup being free will when they got way down the tech line into insane AI stuff.

This is all hugely missing my point though. Whether or not their perfect with their experiments, whether or not you think they were successful in making synths or not, they've demonstrated extreme competency in sciences across all fields, and fallout's brand of "Science!". It seems silly and a lil illogical that their super mutant designs, with all their knowledge, research and equipment, were bested by a mutated stretch of skin that was so far sighted he forgot his super mutants were sterile.
>>
>>145670959
Look, their error with synths is MASSIVE. It created a being with a totally different disposition from what they wanted. They accidentally created workers that hate them. They did this while having the ability to manipulate their minds.

Why do you not think they could make an equally massive error in disposition when all they have is access to genes, and not their minds directly?

Again, I'm not sure why you think the institute is flawless. There is no evidence for this at all.
>>
>>145671160
I don't think the institute is flawless. I just said in that post you quoted - that doesn't matter. You're trying to compare errors in extreme AI technology with a hiccup in a process that, again, the master managed to master while he was turning into an inhuman blob creature.

This is so beyond my original point, though, that super mutants weren't really thought out that well in this game. We wouldn't be having this lengthy conversation if they were.
>>
>>145661941
lol
>>
>>145671334
Or we wouldn't be having the conversation if you didn't
1) think all super mutants are the same
2) assume extreme competence on the part of the institute without any justification (really, what did they do correctly?)
3) apparently not understand synths at all
>>
why can't I craft a big laser that blows the entire commonwealth up haha
>>
>>145671456
Water purification and waste reclamation if institute brand purified water is anything to go by.
>>
>>145671456
I don't think I did any of those three things. The fact super mutants behave different was actually me central point. We have evidence that super mutants created by different sources have different levels of intelligence - those designed are generally smarter, those made by mistake are not. The institute super mutants are designed.

I don't think that the institute is "extremely competent", I just think that logically, their competence should match that of the masters at least, judging that they objectively have a functioning underground city full of hyper advanced robotic slaves.

I also don't know where this "i dont understand synths at all" stuff comes from, either. I haven't said much about them since they're not related to my point in nearly any way.

That looks really uncomfortable. Never have metal plates grinding against your skin.

no, you recognized that they behaved differently. this baffled you, though, because you didn't seem to realize that they came about differently

You literally just said they were extremely competent
>they've demonstrated extreme competency in sciences across all fields

and as for synths, you seemed to think that they were supposed to be 1:1 copies of humans, yet that they weren't supposed to have free will. You cannot be a 1:1 copy of humans if you don't have free will.
>>

>>
>>145670959
>Oh, well, obviously, but as I've kind of explained above, super mutants have historically tried raiding and being aggressive for a short time, but often subside quickly into living out of the way existences

you didn't actually explain that. you suggested it made sense, but you gave no evidence this actually occurred. I provided the Jacobstown example.

there is what, one other town with supermutants on the west coast? the mining colony in fallout 2.

no such colony exists in the commonwealth. no such colony exists in the capital wasteland.

you're describing aberrations, not the norm
>>
>>145671910
they did do teleportation. I gave them credit for that (if anything in this game makes no sense, it's that, btw)

Apart from that, though, the notion that it is implausible that they might screw up a genetic experiment is totally unfounded

You know what, I am genuinely baffled now. I actually bought the point of them behaving differently up. It literally coincides with my point. I don't understand how you don't actually understand this. When human beings design super mutants, they are more intelligent. When they are created by mistake, they are dumber. Human beings created fallout 4s super mutants. I am racking my brain trying to understand how that doesn't reinforce my point.

Extreme competency in all science fields isn't exactly what I would call general "extreme competency". you seem to keep referring to competency as in, you're either good or you're not, and I don't think it's quite as simple as that. The point is, they have demonstrable knowledge of biology, and demonstrable knowledge of FEV. How that translated into bad super mutants is beyond me.

Im not even going to bother bringing up synth stuff at this point - it's not relevant to super mutants. I offhandendly mentioned them as 1:1 copies of humans to demonstrate the institute knowledge of biology as advanced, nothing more.

>>145671983
There are three major 'groups' of super mutants in NV. Jacobstown - peaceful, Black mountain, which is hostile but certaintly NOT a raider group, and Davidsons nightkin, which are keeping to themselves away from humans.

I didn't mean to come across as disingenuous. I guess we're getting caught up in how we interpret different words. To make it simple I'll just say it like this. I do believe the institute is "extremely competent" at the sciences. I would bring up the synths as evidence, but you seem to think institute scientists developing free will AI is a disqualifier, so I'll refer to other aspects they're generally competent at. I mean, they built teleporters, cyborgs and have advanced medical technology. More to the point though, the fact that they made the synth bodies - regardless of how their minds turned out - means that they have to have some advanced understanding of biology. Thats the competence I want to refer to. They know their shit about science that directly related to super mutant creation.

>>145672830
I don't know why people keep insisting I have some notion that the institute is perfect - I know they're not. In depth discussions on my feelings towards the institute really are irrelevant, I think. I just think that super mutants are illogically written into fallout 4. they've existed as an endangered species for 100 years and have not developed as any other super mutant would. to explain why they're staying dumb and stunted, you have to assume that the institute not only failed to recreate anything close to the masters work, but also managed to actively make the species worse over 100 years of research.

scavengers, not raiders. such a peaceful and thriving culture. aren't they led by a brahmin skull on a stick? all other mutants should follow the example of these brave pioneers.
>>
>>145673320
To add on to this, I don't think the institute making a mistake is impossible. I just think that comparing the mistake they made in synths, where they failed to write free will out of their advanced robotic AI systems, to actively making a species of near human level intelligent super mutants dumber than before you started, isn't exactly fair.

>>145672982

>>145673320
But my point with the synths is, you seem to be wondering how super mutants could have developed so differently than intended mentally.

I'm saying that, even with beings whose brains they could directly manipulate, they turned out way different from intended. How much more likely is this when you can't directly manipulate their thoughts, and instead have to rely on genetic manipulation to indirectly access their behavior?

And again, it doesn't matter that they've been an endangered species. If their genetic programming doesn't prioritize survival, there is no reason for them to prioritize survival. Sure a genetic development would only necessarily occur after many many years of natural selection.

You bring up concepts like being able to manipulate the mind of the synth and failing being comparable to only being able to manipulate the genetics and failing. I think fundamentally, failing at coding an AI is different to failing at breeding successful super mutants. Because, again, the master did it, and was not nearly as equipped, researched or able as the institute. Can't you see how you need to make a bit of a jump on logic to make that work?

Waned, sure, but not disappeared, even after most church goers got blasted away by the bombs. Some characters on FO1 and 2 quote it from time to time.

Good luck finding an intact bible though.
>>
>>145673942
No, I'm not

I'm saying that they TOTALLY INCOMPETENTLY failed to manipulate the minds of beings whose minds they could directly manipulate.

Why could they not TOTALLY INCOMPETENTLY fail to manipulate the minds of super mutants?

Again, what in this game makes you think this is implausible?
>>
>>145673942
I'm not really sure why you keep bringing up super mutants from the other side of the country. As if the success at creating one kind implies the inability of the institute to fail
>>
>>145674117
Okay, I understand where the misunderstanding is - I'm not really factoring in "manipulating the minds of super mutants". I don't think they would have used the same method of "robotic brains ai coding" in the super mutants as they did in the synths, and even if they did, I still don't think that's a viable explanation to why their super mutants are not only more aggressive, but remain more aggressive than most other kinds.

See, as I would understand it, I would think they would focus on trying to create a regular super mutant first. Like the master did - angry, a lil dumb, but intelligent willing to follow the orders of their creator. After all, using your logic, this is how the synths are. They are created "blank", and then manipulated. But regardless. Even if they didn't opt to create a breed of super mutant that wasnt turbo retard first, super mutants and synths are still created differently. You dip a human into FEV (or gas them) and a super mutant happens. Wouldn't they focus on making sure that these super mutants were, at a base level, intelligent? I would also think that the experiments they did to manipulate their mind could not have possibly backfired as hard as to make them more aggressive, and not less. This could be where we fundamentally disagree, and that's okay. I just hope you don't misunderstand my point any further, and can see at least a little bit of mental gymnastics needed to make this work.
>>
>>145674243
Again, not implying the institute inability to fail. I'm trying to explain that super mutants created by chance, manage to eventually calm down and stop being overtly hostile raiders, or at the very least, sulk away on their own after a while. Super mutants created by human beings have been shown to be more intelligent and cooperative. I just don't think the institute could have not only failed to match the super mutants made by the master, but managed to make a race of super mutants that is by far the most feral, dangerous and aggressive breed so far, even worse than super mutants made by OTHER super mutants.
>>
>>145673535
The NCR has multiple reports of Black Mountain harassing travelers. They don't need to raid settlements because they have caravan traffic regularly walking past their camp. Call them bandits instead of raiders if you like, but it does not make the blood of their victims any less red.

Davisons group are only camped out in the repconn basement because they're searching for stealth boys. Their motive is not isolation from humans. Their motive is to find a cache of stealth boys. If you find the cache for them, they leave the area. They are not settlers.
>>
>>145675047
You have a point, but it's a counterpoint a claim I'm not entirely making. I bring up Jacobstown, davidson and black mountain not as examples of what all super mutants should eventually be, and I dont think they're examples of 'settlers' or perfect people. I just think they set a precedent that super mutants eventually disperse, keep to themselves (or to their primary drive/objective) and in general, 'chill' out. Fallout 4's super mutants, given a similar timespan, have not.
>>
>>145674628
I'm not saying they're the same process

you seem to have, as your underpinning, the extreme competence (across scientific fields, of course) of the institute. however, as I'm continuing to point out, the extreme incompetence of the institute is the entire conceit of this game.

>>145674785
But super mutants created by chance are irrelevant to the institute's super mutants. The fact that docile ones developed elsewhere by chance has nothing to do with the ability of the institute to recreate that.

And the master is likely smarter than any institute scientist, as part of the FEV's intended goal is enhanced intelligence.

Further, there are factors (unknown though they may be) which influence how the FEV affects you. Perhaps those factors were more prevalent in the commonwealth.
>>
>>145675316
Radiation exposure/mutation and how long you're dipped in the green stuff. It is why vault people made better super mutants than wastelanders.

If I wanted to add the ambient soundtrack of Fallout 3 to Fallout 4, how would I do so? I don't want to replace Fallout 4's soundtrack, I just want to slip it in. different societal pressures

Mariposa mutants were largely forced out of California by the NCR, or left of their own accord to pursue the Master's agenda following the destruction of the Cathedral.

Capital Wasteland mutants were at war with the BoS during the events of Fallout 3 and were still capable of limited reproduction (infecting captives) to bolster their numbers.

Commonwealth mutants have no mandate from a creator to follow. No group in the Commonwealth is organized enough to force them out of the city. Even Diamond City is effectively in a stand-off with them.

Do you not know how to install NVSE to begin with?
The archive has a data folder, a src folder and various files. Just drop the contents into your FNV base directory (alongside the main game's executable) and merge into the existing data folder. That last time I installed NVSE was back in October but it should be the same still.
Ignore any FOMOD/automagic installation nonsense (if any) and just grab the manual archive or whatever.

Unless you have mods, rifles. There are simply not enough pistols in the base game to have an enjoyable pistols-only playthrough (basically you end up with a laser pistol, plasma pistol, and deliverer).

I tried it on survi\val mode because the rifles weigh a ridiculous amount (really, 20+). It got extremely annoying and so I ended up dumping everything into rifleman.

Automatics is the most fun, imho, but you better get at least a rank in scrounger for the ammo because you will go through it FAST. Also, although most rifles can be used as automatic there is literally one SMG (the SMG based on the thompson) which turns out to be extremely lame compared to an automatic combat rifle.
>>
>>145686796
you can do pistols + rifleman and then switch to commando when you get the Kiloton Rifle.

Keep the deliverer for most fights and a heavy rifle for sniping.

As you level up, get more points in STR so you can forget about carry capacity.

It's more that the "hey don't come near me we're not friends" line isn't always clear enough, or they say it when you're already too close.

The first time I found the monorail in NV I got fucking ruined because the "no civilians" line came out when my face was already pressed against the door and by the time I pulled my gun out to holster it in apology I'd been gunned down by 13 guys with AR15s.
>>

>Unfortunately these issues will require a fresh install
What exactly does that mean? If we already have the mod installed, will we never get the fixes? Or does it just mean we need to:
1) Uninstall
2) Save without the mod installed
3) Install updated version
>>
>>145699534
Thats illegal
>>
>>145703496
For best results use it on a save prior to installing the mod. You can uninstall, save, then reinstall but it MIGHT lead to some issues, such as item duplication.

So, I have an interesting dilemma
The script for immersive fast travel teleporters puts you in the home plate, but a mod I use adds a new home plate cell. Therefore, when I teleport to home plate, it brings me to the empty, unconnected cell.
Is there any way I can swap the two names of the cells so immersive fast travel works again?

Dude, the PC meme race doesn't care.
These fucks have actually said that the xbox players don't deserve mods because they didn't spend 3k on a gaming PC.
These fucks say things like "I make mods to help people enjoy the game more and I like the recognition" but they refuse to reach out to an audience that's over 50 times larger then the one they are catering to already.
They don't own these mods, bethesda and zenimax do, and if they want xbox and ps4 players to have them they will.

>I don't even use a console
Good for you I guess.
I not saying just rip and post every mod but if your only reason for not sharing a mod with console is your own elitism, you deserve to have the mod ripped especially considering it's not even your property.
If the mod doesn't work for console and the modder is unwilling to make a console version there's no reason someone else can't take that mod, make it work for console and post it for console.
All this shit is analogous to a kid on a playground who started a game of soccer, dickdickproductions is upset that people outside his friend group want to play on the school (bethesda) owned field, with the schools ball, and the schools goals. He has this entitled mindset because he was there first and thinks he's better because he spent more money than the console players.

Bethesda, the people who legally own everything related to Fallout including the mods, said mods will be available on console. When buying this game mods were assured for console, that means the people who legally own the mods said they would be made available for console.
A few dick modders stamped their feet and refused to release Bethesdas property when asked and as a result the mods were copied and reuploaded.
If Bethesda wanted they could require all mods made to be available for console.
I will enjoy my Scorpio and with my remaining money I'll have from not blowing 3k on a PC I'll enjoy a PTR-91.

If they wanted to do it right, it's a hunk of ferrous metal, possibly in a casing that allows it to be loaded from a magazine and held in a precise position.

If they wanted to do it really right, they'd make a receiver and corresponding ammo that's something like hi-power 2mm ec using a different metal or something that has a damage bonus.

they all perform similarly, it generally comes down to aesthetics, affordability, ports for monitors and such

look around for how RMA is handled in your area as well if that matters to you

What >>145713701 said. The 960 was a decent choice (not straight good as both the 950 and 970 had better price / value ratio: the first could reach stock 960 performance with some OC, the second is simply much more powerful) before the new models started to fucking up the market. Currently, I wouldn't recommend buying new at least until Polaris hits the shelves (June 29 is the hard launch date).

In terms of performance, we can't tell anything concrete but at least the 480 should be on 970/390 level (indirectly, even AMD suggested this) with $199 MSRP. This is probably the most realistic expectation due to what info is available at the moment. Not to mention that it's absolutely DX12-proof, eats around 100-120W and both consoles has built on GCN architecture too. So again, wait and reconsider.

No, it's a mod

You can outfit your settlers to make them look like they're part of an organized group by giving them themed weapons and armor.

Also, ammo is fucking expensive (and heavy) if you are using automatic/heavy weapons so being able to mass produce that is also nice.

because muh fallout branding
Same reason why Institute has a synth merchant with caps all ready for trade

we will never have multiple currencies again
>>
>>145718406
from what I've seen the production speed for anything is dead slow.

>>145718020
The same reason the BoS uses them

To buy shit from traders in the wasteland. Also to streamline gameplay.
>>
>>145718480
I mean you could easily replace it so that BoS and Institute used different currencies. Institute could use money that's secretly sentient and the BoS could trade in Maxsonbucks

>Maxsonbucks

that is so brotherhood it hurts
>>
>>145718490
Conveyor belts are slow afaik, not the production itself. Even if that's the case, it beats spending a thousand caps every couple of fights on ammo.
>>
>>145718390

Ah. I wonder what new legendaries we'll see in Nuka World.

I also hope all its new guns and armors arent all raider shit.

BoS is part of the wasteland and needs them for trade

Actually the BoS should have 2 systems. War scrips for trade among themselves and caps backed by their services.
>>
>>145718480
It wouldn't work anyway though. Even in NV caps kind of serve as the standard, the other currencies are only worth it because NV sits between the two factions. It'd make no sense for institute to accept BoS money or vice versa
