What is the point of small shield extenders, 100mm plates, small shield boosters and all these stupidly small modules that give such little bonus, tank or what ever

Like a 100mm plate uses very similar fitting to a 200mm even then a 200mm plate is dumb because it gives so little extra hit points

small shield extenders are on par with 200mm plates but slightly worse in that they have stupidly low hit point bonus.

Whats the point of these stupid small modules that do nothing in comparison?

What is the point of a small shield and small ancil shield booster? no one uses them, they're garbage, they aren't more efficient or much better on CPU/PG. They don't rep for shit.

small boosters are shit, yes. they use very little fitting, but they aren't worth a midslot. it's almost always better to cram on a medium even if it needs fitting mods. the only smalls I see used are deadspace on tryhard frigates. gist shield boosters give a pretty broken cap usage reduction, to where you can sort of sustain it on a normal fit. it's sometimes not shit

yeah medium shield booster tengus are a pve thing because pve is shit. it's the exact same cap efficiency as a large booster of the same type, but with lower time efficiency, which happens to work out as being ok because pve is so shit and tengus/high end shield gear is so retarded

large ancillary shield boosters are another shit thing. an xlasb gives you about as much shield as 2.5 larges, so unless you think you can get reloads in, dual large is shit. plus the slot usage again, it's generally better to have a fitting rig or lowslot for an xl and have another midslot module

Torps have unusually low range, low range to the point that HAM's compete actively with them.

Theres a huge handful of reasons why these things are shit

first off, HAM's and Heavies apply like shit even to cruisers. a Cruiser with an average sig radius and even mild speed of ~500m/s can avoid some 25% of HAM damage which is huge

Torps even on ships like the raven can't get above 30km is fucking shit.

Missile ships have to compete with T3D's and because of that using HAM's is retarded

Anomalies are little pockets in space usually filled with enemies to kill. You don't need to "queue" with anyone you just warp in and kill the enemy. There are no lines and you can do what ever you want.

on the off chance that you're not trolling, the majority of the content in eve that you would do in a group happens in space where you can get killed by other people with no consequences. as a result, the incentive is low to team up with randos you don't know to do things in anywhere but hisec (because they / their friends might kill you). the incentive is also low to buddybuddy with randos in hisec because it will almost always cut into your baseline isk/hour and the isk/hour in hisec is relatively low in any case so you don't want to lose any of it.

the exception is hisec incursion communities, and they have chat channels to organize in that you can find by googling.

you do need to team up to do quite a lot of the content in eve (or multibox, and that's another can of worms) but normally (again, because of the trust issues) you would use your corpmates for that.

Your settings could be saved somewhere, and need to be pasted into the Shared cache folder. Could be hard to find out what their folder will be called tho, I had lots of trouble with finding that because it varies from installation to installation due to different earlier versions.

The issue wasn't that bad, I just lost the channels I was in and my windows/ panes all reset to the default colouring, sizing and position, which was a slight inconvenience but its all sorted now. Was just UI settings that were lost. I still have my saved locations/ notes etc.

The underlying problem that caused the issue is that my display driver keeps dropping, screens go black, sound still plays for a moment and the only way I can recover is to hard reset my PC. This only happens with eve. I can't replicate the error in any other game or stress test. Temps are fine. I have no idea how this made me lose my UI settings.

I haven't played EVE in a while and the only difference in my PC is that I stupidly upgraded to Windows 10 since my last session. Also that the drivers are all newer versions seeing as my last play was 6+ months ago.

Haven't been able to find a good fix for it yet but I've found a work around by setting EVE to use directX 9 instead of 11. I'm also noticing that over 50% of the time now the launcher starts in offline mode which I tried to fix by re installing it and disabling the firewall but nothing seems to work. I have to restart the launcher several times before it connects.

Thanks for the video though I've book marked it, it could be of use in the future.
