It doesn't really indicate much either. The skill gap in this game is large. Going onto 8vs8 servers means you're likely to have 1-2 decent people on the other team, but then 6-7 shitters. If you have around 30% acc you're going to win almost every fight unless they gang up on you and you have bad positioning.

It is sort of. I mean if you start off at the same time as someone, but you spend 100 dollars on various things like loadouts and stronger mercs, you will have an advantage. It's basically pay to win for the first 20-50 hours before free players can catch up to someone who paid for things right off the bat.

It's also not pay to win at the same time as free players have the same access to content as people who pay. It's just people who pay get to have it faster, which does matter when it comes to newer players.

It's not really p2w because you don't really have a clue about how to play the game at the start though. I don't think I've seen an f2p game with a business model which I liked more than DB, even if the cash prices are high at least you don't have to buy shitty virtual currency that doesn't convert 1:1 and leaves you with small amounts left over, I went the f2p route and had everything I wanted unlocked within 2 months, not a bad time considering it's mostly get a new merc -> learn how to play them while getting credits for the next one -> if the novelty wears off just switch to the new merc.

Skill has nothing to do with it because pay2win, despite what the term implies, does not mean you automatically win, it means you have an advantage over players who didn't pay money. You can still lose despite having an advantage. In Dirty Bomb's case, it's pay2win only in the scenario where two players start at the same time and only for a brief period.

I found it very annoying because your effectiveness as a player is severly limited by your character. You can have great tracking aim with Soldier76 but you won't even have 1/10th of the impact that you'd have as Skyhammer with the M4.

OW is very reminiscent of tf2 or *shudders* monday night combat. I got it yesterday and the similarities to db are basically "people have guns, people shoot guns. people have abilities, people use abilities".
The guns in db are straightforward. The guns in ow are, like tf2, situational. I used to play tf2 and db but i think after 4k hours I'll give it a break and play ow instead, alongside db.

Basically, ow puts focus on team composition, abilities and countering each other while db puts focus on movement and aim first, abilities second.

The games are very different and people shitting on either are just circlejerking.

Merc Idea:
Merc with their own branch of slightly less powerful assault rifles/SMG's, each with an under-barrel grenade launcher that works similarly to Nader's Grenade Launcher, but you basically get two, they have to be reloaded with each use and they recharge slower than Arty's Artillery.
You can cycle between Smoke, High damage but low AoE explosive shells and buckshot shells that are a single shotgun blast that can save your ass in a tight spot.
Switching to the ability has no delay.

The game's kept it's player count regardless of how many players that is, in spite of other games like Overwatch coming out.

Honestly I'd play more but the game doesn't give me much reason to do much beyond do my missions and come back every 3 hours.
Some kind of continuous match or match per session bonus to XP and cash like Overwatch would really help in this regard, regardless of how slight it is.

P.S. Sorry for jumping on Overwatch every time I get my shooter fix more than I play Dirty Bomb. I love DB to death and it's a combination of everything I've loved in shooter design of the past 10 years, but it takes too much out of me some of the time. It's a REALLY intense game that gets your heart beating every second, and thinking every second.

Haven't played it, but it's probably a number of Factors. As a whole, Dirty Bomb appeals to a different demographic from Overwatch.
The two games are both similar, both couldn't be more different. Overwatch feels like it's trying to attract people who don't normally play shooters as well as the typical TF2 audience. Dirty Bomb curbs from the edges of the players of Battlefield, CS:GO, Team Fortress 2, and The Enemy Territory esq. games.

Also what Dirty Bomb tries to do isn't really done "better" in overwatch.
I've been playing more Overwatch than Dirty Bomb recently and the sole reason for that has been I don't get as burned out and physically tired from Overwatch, and the fact that Overwatch gives you a nice little breadcrumb trail i.e. https://youtu.be/BmvLexamrmk to get you to keep playing.

If this wasn't the case, I'd be playing Dirty Bomb more often.

S&W. My favorite pistol to switch to during a fight and to finish with. Usually if I have to switch to a pistol during a fight, they are pretty close to dead so most of the time just 1-2 shots will do the trick. Finishing is really quick too, which is really nice when you're low on primary and you can't afford to go knife someone's body.

M9 and Selbstadt are the best secondaries for me for fighting a person from full HP, but I don't like switching to them during a fight nor do I like them for finishing.

I take a break from playing for a while and come back and my money is fucking gone and so are the two mercs. I submitted a ticket to nexon two weeks ago with still no reply.

Soldier 76. He'd be some sort of Assault Medic hybrid. His spread fire in OW would have to translate into some sort of special weapon ability in DB. Like Q is his little heal aura. His E could be a gun he pulls out with his left hand and fire the spread shot. Maybe it could be the spread grenade pistol like from Killing Floor 2.

His heal would be too much like Aura though, so I dunno how they could modify it to act a little different. Could just be a healing grenade that heals people a certain amount one time then dissipates.

Why don't they just clean the bomb if it's so dirty?
