there's plenty of great cloth options, you just have to look for them. the mistake is falling for an outfit with unnecessarily thick sleeves but not taking advantage of long gloves to solve the problem and slim your silhouette out some.

Torrent Aiming/Scouting sets have monstrous high-heels, and the Midan Striking/Maiming boots have heels too. Plus the SMN/BLM AF2 were clearly designed for females.
The thing that confuses me the most is the heels on the Torrent and Midan Striking/Maiming sets. I mean it's fantasy and all but it's kind of difficult for me to wrap my head around a monk, dragoon, ninja, bard or machinist being able to operate with big-ass heels and all the difficulty that comes with them.
