It depends on your character first and foremost, however, based on that you should either be rushing at your opponent and staying close or zoning with good range ariels/tilts and frustrating your opponent with pressure/zoning.

If you find your moves aren't connecting it could be because of the matchup, but it's more likely you're just not spacing correctly.

Why is it that smash on /v/ is more livelier than here? How come we dont have regular tournies like they do. I think it could attract newcomers and resurrect this dying general.

Pikachu is very technical, but he is a fast rush down character with a projectile. I'm not too knowledgeable on how he gets in and stays while being safe, but I do know that learning to quick attack cancel is a big part of it and his 50/50 mix up kill combos are lethal at relatively lower percents.

Just take him into training and practice dumb shit like throws into air attacks that'll hit the dummy, then remember that 80% of the time your opponent can normally air dodge and take that into account in a real match.

Why are new/bad Smash 4 players so insanely passive? You would think it would be the complete opposite, often new players are too aggressive.

Smash 4 is a passive game, for sure, but it's weird to see people play characters like Fox or Mewtwo and just end up rolling towards the ledge doing nothing and spending the entire game running away.
