Frostbolt has 100% chance to pierce implicitly. It cannot gain anymore. Putting on a pierce gem will only give it the gems more modifier and not any extra damage from the "pierce chance" because it literally does nothing because you can only have 100% chance.

Like I said, it's good in niche builds. You can use the extra buffer, sure why not. You can afford a ranged, evasive playstyle. You don't really benefit from frenzy charges/cast speed so the loss of BR is not a big deal. For most builds, hybrid is simply not worth the effort. If it works for you, your build is niche.

Almost all casters/summoners can easily run hybrid. Sure it's not good for attack builds, but I wouldn't call "casters" niche.

They've been a godsend in that terrible grind from Normal to Cruel, at which point I replace them with 30% boots. Hell, sometimes I keep them on until Merciless if the resistances hit just right.

They're 1c at most within 1 day of a new league, and because you're racing and ignoring everything you don't give a shit about the increased physical.

there's nothing wrong with picking up nearly everything to vendor or recipe for currency early in a league. Regals have settled at 1:1 with chaos the last couple leagues so it's not a high value recipe.

A good way to learn what's worth what is to keep what you do pick up for recipes in a 1/2c tab and see what gets instantly bought. see what you overlooked on the item.

The resulting map would still be the same tier, but have the combined mods of the to parent maps allowing for a deadly as fuck map with actual rewards.
