The game is notable among other MMOs of its type for its particularly friendly playerbase. Most people will actually be glad they have a newbie around since helping people through instances for their first time gives a nice bonus for everyone involved.
It's also great for escapism because of its beautiful, soft and well designed ambient. Playing this shit soothes my nerves almost as much as cuddling my cat.

I've loved this game with all my heart for all the 2 years I've played, but it doesn't look like I'll be able to play it again.
I had a lot of fun and even though you guys are sometimes goofy and prone to highschool drama I know that you're all pretty decent people and I've made a lot of good friends and had a lot of great experiences.
Thank you to the raiders and the social, the soft and the hardcore, the roleplayers and market players, and everybody else. This game was one of the best experiences of my life and I'm very sad to have to leave it.

Yeah, it is pretty cool that Mhach went and came into existence considering that we had long been lamenting that there would never be a 24 man instance as good as LotA.

So im confused as to how to gear up my DoL classes. Im getting left side and mainhand 180. Why are all the accessories still red scrip though? Do I save up for those or hope that the ironworks stuff becomes cheaper? Does it even matter beyond having the 600 GP?

How the fuck do I git gud with NIN? Im trying to get used to ninja, but somehow all this shit he has to do to maintain high DPS is confusing as fuck compared to DRG, which is pretty straight forward. I keep forgetting to reapply debuffs, mess up mudras sometimes and sometimes I even forget to prolong his Huton. It works most of the time against trash, but as soon as Im at a bossfight shit starts to hit the fan and I find myself spamming his default combo and his ogc skills most of the time. Needless to say my DPS goes down the drain and Im not better than most of the other casuals I used to shit on for their shit DPS when I play DRG.

At least I learned the hard way now that its nothing to be proud of if you have good DPS as a DRG.

STYLE RANKINGS:

PLD - 3/5 - You're stereotypical knight in shining armor. Had relatively boring skills up until the expansion that finally gave them their "holy" and "defender" theme.

WAR: 3.5/5 - Some of the cooler animations come from some of WARs abilities; like Storm's Eye. Others are relatively boring though. Style of the class is okay.

DRK: 4/5 - Some of the best looking tank animations come from DRK's abilities; mainly because they involve over-the-top heavy sword slashes with lots of darkness effects. General class design is pretty cool looking, but minus a point for general edginess.

AST: 5/5 - Without a doubt one of the most aesthetic-based and "prettiest" classes in the game. Every animation revolves around stars/moon/sun and cards, so every animation is usually eye-catching.

WHM: 4/5 - Your stereotypical FF White Mage with some cool looking abilities; Holy and Aero III are really impressive to see, and their casting animations are gorgeous.

SCH: 2.5/5 - Some of Scholar's abilities look great, but most of the time you're going to forget it's there. Selene's embrace isn't an eye-catching ability. Throwing DoTs on anyone isn't going to catch anyone's eyes, and Broil isn't really impressive when you're tossing it at an enemy. Succor and Sacred Soil are pretty, though.
