It's been a quite a while since I've played TF2...but whatever happened to the fun servers? Used to be I could find all sorts of crazy shit, even on pub servers, but now the only "fun" servers are a couple dodgeball servers and the one single goddamn degroot keep (medieval mode would be nice on OTHER maps). Every now and then I can find an active smash bros server, but that's about it. What ever happened to Fort Wars and stuff like that? Did all the servers go private, or do people just not care anymore?

I last played tf2 about 5 years ago. Back then I used a key bind set up like pic related for classes without alternate fire.

I'm not, quake was my jam in high school, i just wish 6s fags would just admit thats what their game mode is instead of pretending that it's some super uniqe and original game mode developed through trial and experimentation.

Btw are there any forms of quake comp that are still alive? I've tried quake online but it doesn't have the same feel and I'm still salty about the loadouts instead of weapon pickups in the new doom

tf was developed on quake after all, and valve admired id software and licensed parts of the quake engine to use in their GoldSrc engine in half life
even hired the guy that did the quake map editor
if you look at quake's map editor the GUI is very similar to hammer editor for GoldSrc and source

quake live is pretty dead, new doom campaign is ok but online is garbage (who plays doom for online anyway)
if a mod actually made TF2 play like quake or very similar i would probably die from staying in my PC for too long.

most soldiers don't go for markets because if you're gonna go for it you need to know that you're gonna hit it, otherwise you'll do nothing other than dying
you'd need some pretty sick jumps and good reaction to pull it off, it's just easier and more reliable to use rockets

it works often in pubs because people there have retarded movement and don't know how to click someone in the air
