Is this the beginning of the end for classes?

Since launch, Yoshida hasn't taken a stance on the controversial subject of classes vs jobs, instead letting the playerbase decide for itself what should be allowed to play the game. The players decided jobs only, but Square continued to allow classes to play the game, inserting no restrictions to them. Party finder allows classes, duty finder allows classes, and even savage endgame allowed classes.

But as of today, this is history as the very first square enix imposed restriction on classes has been placed. Classes cannot queue for raid finder -- perhaps they can as an 8man premade, i'm not sure.

Is this the beginning of the end, a hint at more restrictions to come? Alas, one of the final relics of 1.0 appears to be on its way out for good.

the problem with going for warrior relic stats is that warriors gear around the berserk breakpoint

i think crit skillspeed is maybe the safest but with future gear or even current? not sure their gearing rn.... you might not have a choice but to surpass the berserk breakpoint which doesn't do much for u.

At the moment skillspeed seems to be the way to go because it means you can have less skillspeed on the rest of your gear and Midas has multiple skillspeed break points for squeezing in that extra berserk GCD.

Shatter is okay, but one of the biggest problems is that draws from Slaughter in that you need to attack crystals to get points.

One of the biggest problems with this is that it's based on how much damage you do to it, meaning that the better your DPS rotation, the more likely you are to get points.

Seeing as 99% of all DPS are braindead when it comes to knowing a rotation, this means that your team is (inevitably) going to be shit.

Aside from that, the crystals themselves actually discourage PvP, because it's far more worth it to attack the crystal for points than it is to attack other people, seeing as the crystals give you way more points.

Secure was better. I actually think Seize was a bit better as well, but only if because it encouraged you to actually attack other people.

From the couple matches I've had I really feel like they dropped the ball here, they minimized the RNG shit and replaced it with stagnation and inactivity.
From a healer's point of view it fucking sucks that when we're in "attack the crystals" mode all I can really do is sit there and watch, maybe try to debuff enemy players.

The matches feel shorter and less eventful, there's even less strategy involved than in Seal Rock and along with the lesser amounts of RNG comebacks aren't as big a thing.

I'll keep playing for a while but unless I discover some new joy in this I'll likely stop once the queues get longer.

To be fair, the RNG aspect of Seize made it either completely unfair or really annoying. Not that it was always a problem; it forced engagement with the enemy team and forced you to be quick on your feet.

Seal Rock was at least okay in the part that it forced you to stick together and forced you to attack others if you wanted a chance; this feels like a weak combination of Secure and Seize.

Secure was better in that it involved all strategy, no zerging, and no RNG. Seize was better in that it involved much more co-operation.

But sitting around and ripping apart the crystals all day long is boring. It was the worst part of Slaughter; the winner is whoever knows their PvE rotations better.
