Probably not. They're most likely saying that to cover their asses for not having a map in this update. Everything was already in the game back when Infection came out.

I can only half-agree, anon. As a whole the helmet's very over-designed and has a lot of detail that really was only added for the sake of it. I'd have preferred it keep the overall smoothness of the previous iterations, plus maybe lose that gaping cavity between the visor and the nose section.

EVA's honestly not all that bad. A good deal of the classic/returning armours aren't too bad since there are at least designs already in place for them to alter.

Scout doesn't look too bad, EVA's OK, Security's.... tolerable. Helljumper is OK if you treat it as a straight upgrade to the mainline ODST variant. EOD's OK.

They really fucked up with Rogue and Hazop though. I have no fucking idea what they were thinking there.

343 really needs to pull a 3/Reach and create a base set.
In 3, it was Mark VI with removable shoulders, a swappable chestplate, and a helmet. In Reach, it was Mark V [B] with the option for shoulders, chest, kneepads, a watch, a pouch, and a helmet. But the point is that all spartans looked the same outside of those key points.
In 4 and 5, the "base set" is the nanosuit, so there's absofuckinglutely nothing to build off of.
