That's completely random. Some people will get it from their daily Maniacs, some people will waste 200 pots and have nothing to show for it.

Assuming you're running the Percy, Yuel, and Clarisse on DF, two MLB swords vs one MLB sword + one MLB katana is only around 3% more effective. Personally, I wouldn't worry too much about it unless you're that die-hard on optimization.
