Is there any way to make it so you can get copies of the same quest from lords? I mean, if you pick up robber den quest, you can no longer pick up robber den quests from any other lord even if they're infesting the countryside. And if you end up being at war with the previous lord, you can't turn it in. I was doing sidemissions during the VC storyline, but since one gets betrayed pretty early in that, you have to wait 60+ days for the quest to tick down.

there's diplomacy which is the most minimal mod, adding all the diplomatic features and nothing else
there's tocan's calradia that adds a shitload of features as well as an invasion setting, where the dark knights invade the realm
there's floris and a lot of mods like floris that are the base game with a bunch more items and new troop trees
there's also mods like sword of damocles that add a load of new factions alongside the native ones as well as firearms

those are all the closest to native mods i can think of in terms of location

the one they normally use in VC is akin to the formations you get from PBOD
the one in the .ini is the same one WFAS uses
the difference is the one VC normally use is more performance intensive but you can do more with it, while the .ini one doesn't hit performance at all and you can use it in scenes like sieges or bandit camps whereas with the normal ones you can't

6 points. 6 points brings it down to 2%, and any more doesn't do anything.

It's set in the Early Medieval period, even the Empire looks more like Eastern Rome than Western Rome, and the Vlandians are straight up Medieval Franks from what I've seen of the limited gameplay. The only thing that seems to be based off of late antiquity is the collapse of the Empire, with the ERE replacing the WRE. I'm glad they did this though since it preserves the Medieval feel of the first game.

Early game fast levelling/ducats come from caravan missions with ctrl/space with intermittent tournies. Dyeworks dont work as the price drops if you spam them. Late game you'd probably have to rely upon owning towns/looting (if you dont mind the honour hit). There was a bug in the earlier versions where your treasury would accumulate massively in your fief. However, I am sure that's fixed by now.

If I'm the attacker in sieges, I usually just take a bow or a crossbow, depending on the situation, and just murder them from afar. In field battles, you shouldn't even need a shield, unless the enemy has noldor tier archers or you otherwise just want to play a hero and lead your troops into head-on clashes.

Looking back at the recent gameplay videos for Bannerlord, I see that combat still revolves around the horridly implemented momentum and speed %, hence completely killing thrusting weapons when used up close. The one thing that the M&B series has going for its combat system is the directional control. That's it.

Speed shit needs to be removed and have damage be based entirely on the base damage stat, attackers strength and defenders armour. In the video from that big games conference back in the Spring, a twohanded thrust did ZERO damn damage, despite being the sword point being pressed firmly against the torso of the opponent. This is because the shit engine wont recognize damage if the attacker does not "wind up".

I've been playing melee combat games for a very long time and this is not a problem in any other game with melee combat. War of the Roses may have been ruined by a shit community and being multiplayer only garbage, but the combat was near perfect. Same goes for Chivalry.

The devs had years to fix this yet either they ignore it or are oblivious to this massive flaw. There are few things in vidya more pathetic than being gang up on in close quarters by the ai in M&B, only to not be able die by any of them because their swords and spears don't have enough room to "wind up" and have some speed.

How do I put this simply. In M&B, even if I have my razor sharp spear point right up to an oppnents bare belly, if he is kissing distance from me, my character will simple glance the spear off and not do any damage because M&B require windup and the speed from that comes from distance and that does the damage.

In other words M&B combat does not seem to think that humans have pectoral, trapezus, triceps, latissimus and bicep muscles if the opponent is too close. Or hip extensors for that matter. Not him but to be brutally honest, at the distance the AI bots attack you (that is kissing distance) you should'nt be able to wield a 1h or 2 hander. The only difference is the swing. With the swing the weapon gain enough speed to actually do a but of damage and stun the ennemy. Wich gives you room for a second, clear strike.
The thrust motion with spear and polearms doens't reach far enough to gain speed.
Wich is why I'm happy that thrusts get a specific speed value in BL so if doesn't work in native we'll be able to mod high enough values to make a difference.

Then that's a problem with the AI, not the speed mechanic. Warband isn't known for it's stellar combat AI. Shield holders will actually drop their guard before you even attack, which in turn gives you a window to attack.

The speed mechanic is not "broken" per se. it just a working cog in a defectuous clock when it comes to thrusting and only with spears/pikes.
Whats missing for it to work as efficiently as possible is :
A. A good AI for this.
B. Adding "muscles" factor (i.e when you're in the middle of a strike don't stop the animation like in warband but instead make it occasionnate a flat damage (the weapon's damage base damage) and push the ennemy 1 or two meters back depending on the lenght of the polearm
C. Moddable thrusting speed. so that the thrust will be faster than the swing.

More of a problem with Rhodok spearmen and sergeants. Not with the veteran since they actually have a weapon with an upswing that isn't historically related to cavemen so I don't feel the urge to remove it and replace with an upstab.

And as we all know modding AI is actually really really easy
and now we just have to wait for Bannerlord, what a fix. Captain Lust also came to the conclusion that fixing the Ai would be better. So there is a litlle hope. Though to be hoenst except if they come with top-tier Ai for the bots and they won't. Y'know, because its SP with lots of bots and not MP with e-peen wanking retards all the shit I've talked about will need to be fixed one way or the other. Again, there is some hope since Armagan is talking about physics based calculations for combat.

Why does it matter that it's not crowdfunded? There's nothing difficult about putting out a couple of new screenshots once a fortnight or providing ANYTHING more than the fucking quarterly blog we get. There's no excuse for the PR manager to almost never engage with the community about the game everybody is excited about. Considering that we only saw 2 battlefield scenes in two videos (three if you count the second stage-only one separately) I think the bones of the game are there, mostly.
Eve though they've hinted at sieges being shown at E3 I somehow doubt that they've finished coding all the siege weapons. Ram and siege tower maybe but I doubt we'll see any onagers. Though last time they showed it was in August so I guess we can hope that they can actually make a proper model for it and code the falling projectile this time.

The hideout can sometimes be in a real remote place. in Floris I always found them in the immediate vicinity of tihr. If you spend too much time on it just Ctrl+T and look for a high concentration of sea raiders parties. It will be there.

Floris changes that and replaces them with tundra bandits. the sea raiders are simply relocated to nord lands. Where it actually makes sense.
