that's kind of the problem though. She is really strong at killing tanks, but when tanks are strong that means deathball comps are strong, and this means vayne is weak. She gets zoned really hard by all the control mages, azir, swain, vlad, viktor, brand, ori etc.

Just try playing vayne yourself in a late game teamfight, it's just so hard getting to hit a target without instantly getting blown up due to your close range.

Keep in mind, all of the meta adcs, twitch, caitlyn, ezreal have super long range and they are meta due to that exact reason.

Lucians range is short, but he doesn't have to stay close for a long time. He can get close, Q auto with passive, back off a bit, W-passive, back off a bit again ulti when he finds a nice opening etc. He doesn't get zoned very hard.

It's just not worth it to get through the shit early game where every meta ad destroys you (even twitch), only to have to deal with all the bullshit zone control that destroys you even harder.

i have 370k mastery points on vayne but she's just unplayable in this meta, until something changes caitlyn has become my best girl.

Call me a drone but I actually don't mind having to grind for champs. It gives you the time and incentive to really master the ones you already own. In addition, buying a champ you've been grinding for feels like cashing out a paycheck at the bank. It's fun and it gives you a sense of achievement and ownership.

Right, the MMO tagline but this is a primarily PvP focused game with frequent wild and swingy "meta" changes enforced by huge balance updates several times in even one season. Too much becomes tied to the arbitrary interest of Riot to particular champions.

A competitive game should ALWAYS have as the baseline that everyone has the same tools/rules when you start playing, the only difference being the familiarity of how to use those tools from experience being the differentiating factor.

Riot had excuses years ago because it really was the way they would (in)directly generate revenue but now its grandfathered in and they quite clearly have other ways they make money. Having to pay for gameplay affecting unlocks for PvP is Korean MMO garbage that has no place in the game.

If you want to put in a "sense of grind achievement" there are other ways to do it. The simplest would be to require unlocks for champs only in ranked. All champs would also fix other side problems, such as the unbelievable cancer of ARAM only accounts.

Trundle is the champion that will always outstat you, but that's pretty much all he can do. It's all on you to poke him or cc him or kite him with mobility. His only tool to close a gap or hold you down is his pillar, which is actually a pretty weak form of cc on a fairly decent cooldown.

I climbed all the way to bronze 1 with mostly just playing shaco.
Rengo has never been a problem for me especially top lane rengo but i mean.
He got fed like 7 kills early laning phase.
Couldn't really do much since he instagibbed everyone with little to no effort.
