Wouldn't it be neat if instead of just handing out legendaries and artifacts and all that to just any shitter that installs the game. What if you had to legitimately work for and earn it?

Ret is pretty garbage at the moment. Well, more boring than garbage. Prot feels not as strong as it does on live. It feels like Prot. Warriors and Prot. Paladins are brothers, only Prot. Warriors are the bigger brother that gets more attention, nice things, and better clothing while Prot. Paladins are the second-born. They get all the hand-me-downs and the scraps.

Holy is a big joke. Feels like Blizzard has no idea what they're doing with it by converting them into a melee healer, even though their kit doesn't really help them become great melee healers. Mistweavers were MUCH better at melee healing with their fistweaving ability.

If you're looking for a new class, now might be the time. Paladins need some serious rework and the only real saving grace is Prot, if barely.

Funny thing about Holy is it was better back in WotLK beta. There was a very good hybrid spec with Holy/Ret where you could get Sheath of Light and have a HoT. Sadly the build died when Blizzard moved SoL further down the Ret tree.

If you want my honest opinion on Holy, it's not bad, but it's not good. It's a bit of a joke, but with some number tuning, and maybe some better procs/talents, it's viable.

It snowballed into me playing the auction house and making bank on a daily basis, then WoD happened and I rolled alts on there to just farm gold across several alts. The issue I have with holy isn't its viability. I wouldn't mind playing an undertuned spec if it still felt functional. Not really gated, but you WILL want to do profession classes as soon as possible. The only thing really gated is cooking.

Crafting classes like Leatherworking and Blacksmithing will be viable throughout the expansion.

The biggest money maker will most likely be Inscription with the talent reroll tomes that will be practically required for Mythic raiders.

all profs have decent viability, however inscription right now is the clear front runner just because of the sheer volume of product that'll be in demand for the whole expansion, with the tomes and codexs for talent switching as well as the runes for raiding. I think enchanting will also do quite well, I'd be cautious of taking on any gathering professions because shared nodes means resources will flood the market especially with multiboxers and botters being enabled like this.

Garrison missions are much lower in frequency, there is a small semi-mandatory component to them but once that's done you won't really have to touch them. Class hall doesn't center on it though, the "troops" are basically disposable followers basically just use them to fill a slot where you don't have enough followers for a mission. Most of the order hall is about spending your resources which you collect from rares which enable various things,upping your artifact and doing the order hall questline which is basically just a class specific quest chain like for DK's its raising the new four horseman for the Lich King, it's not really a place you stay in long term though you basically just port in from the road drop off resources or upgrade your artifact and then port back out.

It's worth pointing out that the new Felblight equivalent is BoP, but still acquired through gathering. If you don't herb/mine for it, you won't have as much to craft the high-end stuff with. You can still obtain it through fishing too, but that requires you getting and leveling the artifact fishing rod before you can even catch any.

Levelling is totally busted and has no sense of pacing whatsoever, a lot of the classes have been overly streamlined and play like total ass, and the endgame is mostly just grinding the same clusterfuck of daily quests over and over again if you aren't raiding.

Still, there's a pretty decent chunk of content to push through if you're coming back from pandas. Things might change once the Legion pre-patch hits as well, as some the class changes they've announced aren't absolutely awful. Plus, the devs have expressed interest in fixing up the levelling.

As I mentioned, it's not a bad time waster, but you might have to set your expectations pretty low. You can play free up to level 20, so it might be worth testing the waters first.

Is it going to be better to have two crafting professions or a gathering and crafting profession in legion?

Yeah, Blood of Sargeas looks like it's gathered in the same way as Felblight, but it's BoP.

So far I haven't seen many ways to acquire it without a gathering profession (or fishing, see >>144516693 ). All wowhead lists is one order hall mission.

Gathering nodes in Legion will be placed inside a phase unique to each person, like it is in GW2(as an example). To offset that, they're a lot more sparse. You can run around for hours and not find any.

I think you unlock all appearances available from a quest you've done, no matter what class you did it as.
Really wish I had gotten myself the racer goggles.

Nope. The only quest items unlocked are weapons equippable by and the primary armor type of the character you did the quest on.

This also applies to the new armor rules, so for example a shaman will only unlock mail even if they could only wear leather at the time they did it.

People complained about professions all creating BoP reagents, and not having enough reasons to go out into the world.

I suspect there will still be a few other ways to get it. World quests or drops, but it'll be more limited in how many you can get, like the weekly felblight from Kazzak. Limited amounts compared to have a gathering profession, where you can get as much as you're willing to farm.

Well, makes sense to me.

But it also confuses me. Before level 40 warrior can wear male, after that plate. Does that mean you can unlock mail pieces before if you're under level 40 because it's your primary armor type and after level 40 you can only unlock plate armor?

I would prefer if you could just rightclick on every armor type and make it soulbound to unlock it. Now I have to run old raids with every character on his own. I can't unlock the plate piece that dropped on my druid to give it to my dk. That's a bit dumb.

And does that mean hunter can unlock literally any weapon? Or will they not allow that any longer? If someone's in the beta, will you tell me?

I've always found DK rune management to take more thought than any other resource management honestly, at least for high level play (don't get me wrong you can just mash your rune dump and regen abilities with no thought and do just fine)
It's a shame runes don't fit into the class fantasy anymore according to blizzard.
