I'm not the only one struggling with Mettaton now! My plan is a success! Now I'm really excited for your Mettaton!

Don't worry if it looks silly. I drew a bunch of silly Mettaton before I attempted it more seriously. It's good practice.

I find it easiest to start with the bit of hair that curves to the left from his face. That'll define everything else about his head. The shoulderpads are a lot like the ones Saiyans wear in Dragonball Z but people draw them in different manners. Most prefer to make them curve up but I've seen some that are just giant and point downward too.

I don't know exactly your trouble, but a while ago I saw somebody draw the difference between styles in MTT shoulders. I think its fine either way, but I guess the more correct way is to have his arms actually coming down out of the shoulders if that makes sense.
